Thanks John and Offer for a viable and creative solution and presentation. This video really highlights the combined power of EdgeTx, Rotorflight(&Lua scripts) to leverage the features available in the Radiomaster hardware paradigm.
Thanks for sharing. I added the setup to mine. Used discord for RF adjustments and entered the EdgeTX parts with Companion. Only issue I had was the roll + in rotorflight adjustments had to be tweaked for each one. With the double click trick, it was easy to do. All others were fine.
Small PSA for those who never used the 6-Position switch on the TX16s: The 6-Pos is actually an analog-input. If your switch doesn't seem to work, try recalibrating. You have to press each of the 6 Buttons once during initial calibration. If you don`t touch the buttons during calibration it will keep the old calibration values, you don't have to repeat this process if you just want to recalibrate the sticks. You can verify the calibrated analog channels under Sys/Debug/Analogs. The 6-pos switch is channel 6, it should go from -100 to 100 in increments of 40.
We will, but I'm learning through my efforts that PID tuning on RF is a little more art than science right now. I will make the video when I can come up with a repeatable process.
Thanks a lot for this video! Very helpful and inspirational. I followed this, but I actually decided to put the voice callouts on logical switches instead. That way I only get voice feedback when any of the adjustment buttons (6-pos 2-6) is activated. So if I don't get callout, I know I forgot to activate the adjustments. Thanks again! 🙏🙏
Great work, with one issue. The changes being made don't get permanently saved until you go into the LUA script and save the page. I don't know it there's a way to force a save as the adjustments are being made. Just be aware, that if you do a tuning flight, you need to save your changes BEFORE you unplug your battery. I haven't tested what happens if you do changes on multiple profiles yet. Even with this issue, it's a great addition to the bag of tricks!
It appears to me that if you tune multiple profiles during a flight, you can land, reload the data for whatever profile you happen to be in, and save the page, and it will save all the profiles with the appropriate data. I wonder if the developers could add an option to save the data using one of the adjustment options?
So just to clarify - there is no need to disarm and then also save page? The disarm itself saves the values to the currently selected profile? This is really great I can wait to get this setup for the weekend!
When setting up the mixes on channel 11, it doesn't detect the trim switch being activated when I'm trying to assign the switches. What do I check? Running EdgeTX version 2.9.1 Providence
I have both a M4 and the M4 Max using a Futaba T18SZ. Do not want to switch to the Radiomaster to have to learn everything all over again. But the PID values would be interesting to try instead of the default values for my Nexus Controllers. What happens to these values when you switch to a higher RPM for 3D?
Conventional wisdom is that PIDS usually need to be reduced at higher headspeeds. RF tooltips even recommend the same when you change the headspeed in a profile.
My whole channel is about video evidence, so I'll state nothing more than speculation: Yes, fundamentals should work fine. I can't speak to telemetry/protocols etc as I haven't used OTX in more than a year as the project is dead.

Amazing value in this video, thank you !
Will you be doing another video with Rob about the PID adjustment themselves ?
We will, but I'm learning through my efforts that PID tuning on RF is a little more art than science right now. I will make the video when I can come up with a repeatable process.
Congratulations!! Very nice video!!
Thank you!
Great! I will implement it. Very well explained. Thank you very much
You're welcome.
Thanks, this is a very easy to follow explanation. Love your work!
You're very welcome!
Great video. I am setting this up on mine now.
Thanks Dave!

Sure thing. Glad to help.
Thank you! Very useful video as always.
You're welcome.
Where is Discord are the files ?
just GREAT many thanks

Not true.
As long as arm/disarm occurs, the values survive reboot. Tested.
Changes are applied only to the profile selected.

@@RCVideoReviews Looks like we were replying at the same time. You are correct, disarming does save the changes, across multiple profiles too!

Outstanding!!!
Thank you!
Can you do a nitro set up on a nexus!! I have one now just like to see how you'd set it up!
Is it correct that the ELRS module Switch Mode needs to be set to 16ch Rate/2 ? Are there any drawbacks to running that Switch Mode?
I use D500 for my RF ELRS setups.

does this work on opentx? ok after watching the whole thing it should work :)

@@RCVideoReviews well for the record, I tried and it worked, and Im now fixing my models as I have upgraded my remotes to Edge :)
scan the whole of your discord cant locate the download files
Pinned in rotorflight channel.
