I know Erick doesn't read comments (probably) but I'm gonna note 1 piece of misinformation in the video: Ys X occurs after Ys 1 and 2 canonically, not after Ys 3 and Ys 3 comes after Celceta. The timeline goes: -Ys Origin (1000 year ro so prequel to main Ys series focused on Adol) -Ys 1 and 2 -Ys 10 -Ys 4/Celceta -Ys 3/Felgaha -Ys 5/Kefin (hopefully gets remade someday) -Ys 8 -Ys 6 (gonna be honest...the timeline feels weird here as in Ys 6's intro you see the red head girl on the boat that was more or less a/the main girl of Ys 5 so it feels more like Ys 5 and 8 should be swapped but everywhere I look says the order was 8 before 6) -Ys 7 -Ys 9 Well this is as of Dec 2024 anyway for future readers' reference.
@@merrickmiller1224 Ya, 9's my favorite too tbh followed by 10 so far (on chapter 9's start so almost done), and then 8...ya most people put 8 at the top but I just barely put it at 3 as before 9 and 10 Ys 8 and Oath in Felghana kept swapping places for me and it's still pretty much a tie based off my mood for which one I'm into more at the moment. Origin would be 5th then Celceta at 6th, then 7, 2, 1, and then finally 6th (I don't know why but something about it turns me off even more than Ys 1 and 2...something about the play speed just feels off even though it's the first Felgahan/Origin combat system) at last as I've never played 5 (only watched a youtube sub playthrough...the game looks interesting story wise but really needs a full on remake). On another note Ys 7 was the first Ys game I played on PSP back around 2010 to 2012 or so...picked it up for Christmas knowing nothing about it and wound up liking it a lot. As for combat system imo Ys 9 is the best as it combines some aspects of Oath's combat system with it that 8 didn't have via the Monstrum powers (charge attack for example and a few other things) I'd rank the story more or less the same as my first paragraph with maybe switching 8 and 10 depending on how 10 ends and 6 may go right between 7 and 2.
I freaking love Xenoblade Chronicles X!! After you get used to the fetch quest, you really start to embrace fleshing out your party members and other xenomorphs…
"Ys X" was a game I wasn't too excited tbh for having only two playable characters, but at the end it surprised my positively. The battle combat as explained here was amazing. The controls were great and the revenge gauge felt satisfying. Despite preferring an action RPG where to move to evade attack the guard gauge feature was fun to use. The fact that only two characters are playable honestly didn't bother me after a few hours. The most fun was the exploration after unlocking all mana senses. I loved to find every treasure. I also had the same issues with the controls of the board which didn't work for me unlike the regular controls. The ship battles were honestly refreshing despite I rather felt remembered playing "Age of Empires" or something like that. Upgrading the ship was also satisfying. Also yeah, the mobility of the ship isn't the best at the beginning which reflects its controls... The music...however...is not what Falcom used to be when I came into the series with "Cold Steel". Definitely not poor, but not kind the style what "Falcom" made me want to play their games. Though, I really appreciate the work of Koguchi. After all I had a good time, and it became my longest "Ys" game at the end. I definitely recommend this game.
@@Mintcar923 "Ys IX" is different than the other games for being more restricted for exploration and also having stealth gameplay. For the first five hours "X" is restricted too as it goes for exploration, but after chapter 3 it gives all the freedom for discovering.
Xenoblade X on the Switch 2 is going to be something special!! Because when you play the Original you can tell they were held back a lot of what they wanted to do in the game by the limitations of the Wii U. I also cant wait especially because the Ending of the game was a cliff hanger, so it can now finally be made and probably added as DLC.
I think that Xeno X has 4 gameplay phases: 1 - When you play on foot 2 - When you play with a Skell 3 - When you play with a Flying Skell 4 - When you play with with an Ares 90. Also, you can adjust the Skell camera if want. You don't need to play with the skell so near the camera.
Ys X is my favourite this year, thus far. I place it below VIII, but above IX, Celceta, and VII. I look forward to Oath in Felghana next year. While another comment noted it, I'll just repeat the point that X is after I and II, but before Celceta and Felghana.
i love my xenoblade game in wii u, but fighting online against the telequia and yggralith zero with other people some times is awesome, completing online given missions are great, and receiving items from people on your squad, are the best
Also not liking how next year we're already getting an expanded ys x proud nordics. I just hope for those who bought the game we can pay to upgrade our version like world of final fantasy on ps4. If i have to buy it again, I'm waiting for a 90% sale to get it dirt cheap.
I played the demo for Ys Nordics a couple days ago and tbh I'm hooked into another of Falcom's franchises even if it's not your cup of tea I'm enjoying the game myself.
I picked up Chrono Trigger on Steam last night. It clothes smoother and you can also have auto combat or just does melee attacks. The auto combat goes by very quickly, so it really cuts down on the grinding time.
I'm thinking of getting into the ys series and download trials by mana when it has a discount. Look like very fun games to me. Xenoblade I've played enough with 1 and 3 so I'll pass
Thank you Eric , finally someone is honest about Ys Nordic ( it’s good but it’s average). Also : the dual combo/skills become useless very early, since both Adol and Karja become far stronger by themselves.
I disagree, the duo skills really shine in the capture areas, particularly the final 3 where there are swarms of enemies that use red/blue aura attacks at once, as standalone fighters they can't crowd control as well as they can with the Duo skills, which cover a far more expansive range.
The duo skills mainly become broken only if the Revenge gauge is close to or at Max...if you keep using them when the gauge is empty they become no better than individual skills and at best you may be using them for the additional effects 9for example the one skill that creates a shield and Adol does a spinning attack on the edges of said shield gives you invincibility for a moment, others can blow back enemies or draw them in and so on so they have crowd control properties in that instance). So being able to guard all attacks, especially perfect guard as along with the counter it drastically increases the revenge gauge when used against the power (red aura) attacks (not sure if using dash when blue aura attacks give revenge gauge points too or not). Some gear may also buff them too if I'm right. But ya their mid to end game individual skills do get quite broken (much more broken than anything Adol and co had in Ys 7, Cecleta, 8, or 9 imo at the same point in time).
Xenoblade x now with the remaster will likely connect to the main series in some way so it won’t be completely stand alone. Not anymore anyway. 😂 but I am shocked you didn’t just wait for the switch version unless you started this game several months ago. The remaster is based on the one you are showing now so the censorship for Lin will be the same. It should be anyway. Hopefully they don’t censor it anymore 😂. They didn’t add any extra censorship to the remaster of xenoblade 1 I believe plus it’s monolith soft who likes the fan service and edgy stuff so hopefully Nintendo lets them keep it the same.
Ys X was definitely mid. A good step in some directions, but a bad step in others. I also think going down to 2 party members was a huge mistake. But please, do some introspection dude. There is no "agenda". People existing is not political. It's not too late to turn it around dude.

Your Xenoblade X characters might not lose so many battles if you put some clothes on them. Maybe even some armour.

IIRC, you can zoom the camera out and move its position in Xenoblade X, so the mech camera isn't so zoomed in.😊
Correction Ys X takes place directly after Ys II

You'll find on tougher fights the auto attack isn't that useful. Get use to the manual controls for boss encounters.

There is an agenda when localizations rewrite character dialogue and even personalities.

Yakuza 0 is not an RPG. Just sayin'.
It's a story-heavy beat em up. There's just no customization/itemization that is usual RPG flair.
