Best thing about this video was the "opening hands" section. I think that's super useful and I've personally never seen anyone do that before in a deck tech at least
I know people will be talking about how this video going up at the same time as the Profs but this video really does show a more competitively viable deck list and one that I find myself gravitating more towards. Using the commander as a card draw engine to find a wincon combo is actually so good, with land hate in there too, love it. Will be building this deck with what I have available. Thank you Casually Competitive!
Built the commander making use of your list and making some changes. I have to say it is a lot of fun and I LOVE it thanks for the guide guys won a lot of games with this girl!
Have a decklist? Any notable changes or stand outs you've seen? I've added Ruric thar and it's been a great addition. Im thinking of finding a space for Klothys as its a 3 drop indestructible creature that ramps you, has graveyard hate and is a great target for neyiths ability. Thoughts?
Master of the wild hunt does not actually make wolves "fight" so you don't get the spicy draw from your commander when you activate it. Anyway he is still a nice piece of creature control.
Was about to comment the same. I think there are a few cards where the "deal damage to each other" was erratad to "fight". But the master is none of them. Which renders him kinda pointless in this list tbh.
I am just starting to dabble into cEDH and this seems like the perfect commander! I have recently started playing against this power level of decks and I have come to hate blue because of it. (love blue in casual). This deck is control, has a relevant combat step, good interaction, and not a color combo you see very often. I am into it and your build, thanks for the inspiration for my first cEDH commander!
Not at all. I schedule the videos to go live 11AM EST the night before and we've always posted gameplay videos Friday and non-gameplay MTG videos on Tuesday. This commander is also one that we are featuring in a gameplay video this upcoming Friday and thought it'd be fun to make a deck tech for it. It was just fairly coincidental
creature control you mentioned the first three cards are to slow, why not just the instant speed fight cards? Also the Okame adversary I dont see the value in it a 4 drop that may be a 2 drop and can draw 1 card when dealing combat damage? I don't know this is very lack luster there are either cheaper cards or the same mana cost cards that are better
He is near a staple in cedh where there is really low amount of creatures and can deal with every problematic creature often find like tymna. He is 9/10 a 2 drop in turn 2 or 3 from green dorks and in this list he is even better because it'll draw you card either block or not
Almost the first thing to come up in the video: "In this video about Neyith I just want you to know that it's mostly just a generically Gruul stax deck with a well known Kikki infinite combo that has nothing to do with Neyith and Neyith is really just an interchangeable legend you use some times for card advantage. We don't build the best possible deck around a general here, we just just build the best deck in the colors and slap a legend on it and call it a deck for that legend." ....Pass
The issue is the color selection. You don't have many convenient Birthing Pod chains and it would be difficult to get there in 1 turn. Birthing Pod can be a good, valuable card in this deck; however, we chose to not include it due to the artifact hate we included and due to the fact that there wasn't a great single-turn tutor chain
Lol. The Prof just threw up his video on the same Commander. I was so thrown off and had to see if this was a collaboration effort lol.

Agreed!

Hey man, do you have a build to share?
0:00 Idk how, but he's gonna put Trinosphere in here.
Disclaimer: Any hand with more than two lands is considered quite poor by Joseph.
I've told my friends, hands with 3 or more lands is an auto-keep, regardless of the rest of the hand.
@Steven Luoma cEDH is a blight on commander.
@Steven Luoma TRUEEEE
Dr. Kuhn Nope. It eliminates all the BS of the format.
@@bobby45825 CEDH is just Legacy Commander. If you want to play at Legacy speed, play it. If you prefer long kitchen table brews, don't.
Super interesting way to get card advantage in gruul. I was thinking about how this would do in a higher level and the timing was perfect!
The Professor of Tolarian Academy just uploaded a deck tech. Now this, now i have something to compare to..
The bars at the bottom are awesome😊

I love this commander simply because it is as close to a werewolf commander as we will get. I already have a deck tech in the works for it
I fell in love with Neyith as soon as she was revealed. I have a forced blocks deck already built. Just waiting for jumpstart to release

fantastic deck tech. I'd love more content like this!
lol the prof just posted a deck as well XD
timing
Hey can you explain your inclusion for Master of the Wild Hunt?It doesn't trigger our commanders fight ability, no?
Did you guys time this to go up at the same time as tolarian community colleges?

Love these vids! Keep them coming!
Nice love your decktech !! Thanks great channel love it!!
This is the new card from Jumpstart I am most looking forward to.
Cool deck
So pretty much blood pod without the black?
Wouldn't Neyith be better in the 99 of Ruric Thar? Seems like they share a lot of the same cards/combos
Not paying mind to Alosauraus Sheppard?

First! Keep up the awsome work guys!!
Master of the wildhunt will not trigger the commander since its not a fight card.
Please do an obeka craft
Deja vu
Off topic sorry but since chulane is capable ramping pretty decently would I play root maze there?
Fox Ribble as long as it doesn’t slow you down too much why not!

I really like this episode but it wasn’t useful for me much because it just tell me how to go with a side win con
Where is Birthing Pod tho? It honestly looks like a weaker Blood-Pod deck
