I live in between Phoenix and Tucson and you down here are taking post war-to mid 60's trucks and putting them on Mid 70's to early 80's Full Size Car Frames and using the 70's/80's drivetrains. A custom truck frame costs anywhere from 12-15k, you can a Smog/Malaise Era full size that runs and drives for under $2000. You don't have to spend money to lower them because they are already alot lower than the stock truck height plus all the parts for the suspension, motor and transmission are still available in parts store.
A lot of hours and rethinking life choices! lol, We used a low-profile scissor hinge for cabinets, a couple of linear actuators, limit switches, and safety switches. The hood has to be closed for them to open and close so there is a safety switch on the hood. Then it was just a lot of trial and error until we figured out exactly how they had to move to achieve our goal! Thanks for checking it out!

The cowl idea is a game changer! Any hints on what was used to achieve this?

What 3d scanner did you use or did you hire someone out to scan the truck
I have a friend that comes out from cal to scan for me. We are looking into getting our own in house system.
Can’t wait to see the Woody here! 😂😂😂
I would be Keen to Know the $$$$ Spent on that Truck, most of Which won’t be recovered, but Still Well Done 👍
