    this young man had some unresolved issues that he evidently experienced but suffered from. good video for the realism.

    Great film however there are other shorts out that have the same theme where the protagonist turns into an antagonist due to underlying issues which leads to a murder. The production of this film was great and the actors did an awesome job.

    great story, amazing visuals, nice touch with the blood, nice sound work, nothing to cheesy or far fetched. over all it was a very very good short film. as a aspiring filmmaker I congratulate your team for putting together such a solid film

    Really good film making. Loved how you used the camera instead of words to tell the story and draw out the suspense. I also liked how it was realistic and felt like it could actually happen. Reveal of the dad was done perfectly, and the ending found footage was very creepy.
    Only thing I can criticize is the some of the shaky cam and quick cuts at the end. But besides that, FANTASTIC WORK!!!!

    • @laurenslens9258
      @laurenslens9258 7 років тому +11

      Shaky cam movement also tells a story. It's to show that the character(s) feel insecure, vulnerable, or maybe dizzy and sick. Respectively, I disagree with you and feel that the shaky cam movement was very effective in telling the story. This was a very very good short film.

    Love it, Mr. Button. The idea isn't all that interesting to make for a thriller, but due to the writing (the way it was structured, sequencing), and primarily the directing, such as the XCUs, you made it an intriguing film. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see your feature!

    I really, really enjoyed this thriller and (maybe I'm just stupid in this case) still trying to figure out exactly what happened (I.e. was it really happening or just his imagination?). But this is a great short thriller!!! The camera work, acting, lighting etc. (not necessarily in that order) is absolutely outstanding!

    This was excellent - the direction and cinematography remains superb, and the trio of actors each put in an excellent performance. The lead actor played a blinder - a touch of the young Tobey Maguire and Elijah Wood to him! Support actor played his role with exactly the right amont of menace, and perhaps ironically, the actress particularly shone in the end-credit "flashback/birthday" scenes, playing them very naturally. I can't fault this one. Whoever "disliked" this is an idiotic jealous TVAT!

    Main guy hears tiny noises, maybe sex, immediately thinks of dad beating his mom. Goes to the room, chick tells him nicely to go away. He imagines blood on his shoe, goes back, imagines blood under her nose, she again tells him to go away. He stays in front of the door. Bf comes out, tells him to leave, twice, then main guy says "Grace you can come with me" the bf shoves him away and shuts the door. Then main guy goes berserk. He's basically insane because of what his dad did to his mom.

    Pro tip - stabbing someone repeatedly with a beer bottle will definitely kill them, eventually.
    Bro tip - be sure you're not insane or suffering from family-related angst before stabbing.
    General review - splendid, if hideous, expose of basically what life does to some people.

    • @WordUnheard

      The guy from the beginning was obviously delusional, possibly paranoid schizophrenic. He noticed blood on his shoe after talking to the girl and saw blood coming from her nose when she opened the door the second time. After he beat her boyfriend bloody, he passed/blacked out. When he came to, he noticed there was no blood on his shoe nor was there any blood under the girl's nose. It was never there in the first place. He looked around and saw that they were pretty much a couple having a romantic night, with a bouquet of roses on the dresser, candles burning, a collage of photos of the couple on the wall. When he was listening with the cup to the wall, an image flashed of a man beating a woman. Again, this was all in his head. The father, bent behind the photo of him and his mom, was most likely beating his mom, the image he saw in his head, and responsible for his erratic behavior.

    I feel stupid saying this, but... I don't think I get it. The main guy's dad was beating his mom when he was a child, right? So when he hears a guy beating up a girl in the flat next to him, he wants to help her. After he finally gets into the flat, he beats up the guy to death (or nearly), but sees their pictures, flowers, candles etc. Does that mean the guy has beaten her and then apologized? Or that somebody else was hurting her? Or that nothing happened and the main guy was just confused?
