Hi Pat, the stone stomper is a great product, you missed part of the point regarding protection, it stops the rear window and rear of the tow vehicle from stone damage including easily smashed rear windows. Your vehicle doesn’t seem to have any rear mud flaps which would account for the stone damage to the canvas flaps which are there to help prevent stones from flying up over the top of the stone stomper between the gap rear bumper to the protective mesh. the best idea is to add rock tamers as well like I have, no more stone damage 😊
Hey Pat, a solution for accessing the rear of the car with the Stone Stomper, unclip the Stone Stomper. It’s not that hard to do and it takes no time to do it! So rather than calling it a “negative”, just use your brain!
Great product worth every cent and made here in Adelaide. The fitting instructions would tell you to take the rear of the Stomper measurements a bit wider that the van or trailer from memory. then there's not really any problem with peripheral damage. maybe.
Hi Pat. What tongue are you using on the amarok there as my v6 only have 60mm from rear step to do35 pin and need 85mm for stone stomper bracket to fit
It sure does, we broke our rear glass with a normal upright stone guard, got rid of it and now have a stone stomper and still kept the rock tamers, perfect combo no more damage, the rear glass cost $575 to replace (WK2 Jeep)

I think I need one of these Pat. Cheers Steve
Thanks for sharing.
More than protection for your trailer, it should limit the risk of a broken rear window on the car! maybe?

If you adjusted it correctly it would work heaps better, I have had then on two vans now, and yours is way too loose.
