The Battle of Karbala, which took place in 680AD, is a significant event in Islamic history, centered around Husayn Ibn Ali (R), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad S. Husayn, along with his family members and a small group of supporters, were met by a much larger army sent by the Umayyad ruler, Yazid I, in Karbala, present-day Iraq. The Umayyads sought allegiance from Husayn, but he refused, in cognizance of their corrupt rule and oppression. The army of Yazid then besieged Husayn’s camp, cutting off their access to water and supplies, and on Ashura, 10th of Muharram 61 AH, the battle of Karbala began.

Imam hussein was a true muslim who followed the Qur'an. He was a lover of the companions of the Prophet and he guarded the house of Uthman when the rebels tried to assassinate him. He never hit him self unlike many do today in order to mourn his martyrdom. In fact, that practice was originally done by the soldiers of the pre islamic sasanid army in persia to show how tough they were. Its important to study his real biography to realise the greatness of his character in the face of fabrications

@@HistoryOfRevolutions since they deleted my comment; ill ask you again , did you want Imam Hussain AS to mourn for himself and to beat himself for his own martyrdom? Btw the act of mourning is mentioned in the story of prophet Yousef AS in the Quran.
@travelinglifetotheend.6950 none of his family did those things. His son Imam Zayn Al Abidin never mourned him like that. Because in islam we believe that being a Shaheed is an honour and nothing to mourn in an extreme way.

Before Islam was revealed the Quresh used to say Labbaik uzza, when Rasullah ﷺ came he strictly only allowed Labbaik Allah, no Ahle Bait (as) or the companions ever chanted Labbaik Rasullah or anyone else, this religion is complete let’s not add things and let our emotions cross the lines where Prophet ﷺ has not crossed
Imagine saying Labbayk Allah and then saying Labbayk Husayn right after.
Imagine saying RusulAllah Muhammad A.S and then saying Ali A.S after, addressing with the same way given to prophets, the best of all mankind.

Not all scholars do that . Everyone have their own opinion . But we should read history by ourselves and should conclude who is right who is not .
We all have sense .
Karbala is not a theological event . It was historical . Every scholar , every sahaba told us what they thought .
But the thing is we shouldn’t divide ourselves on the basis of mere opinions .
We all are muslims , read history , read books , by just listening to scholars we concluded everything and started to hate eachother .
Truly said ....all that which followed and atrocities that were committed by yazeed all this build up was only possible because of muawiyah's unislamic deeds which caused fitna upon fitna for the ummah
5:13 lol what a made up nonsense...there were many conditions put forth in that treaty between hassan radi allaho anho and muawiyah ,but muawiyah didn't uphold any of those conditions but only one , and there was no such dissent amongst the unmah regarding who they would've chosen the khalifah after muawiyah as the likes of hazrat hussain, hazrat hassan radi allaho anhum ajamaen were all alive and much more deserving of the khilafa than any other sahabi present back then, if he would've left the ummah to chose after him they would most definitely chosen hazrat hassan radi allaho anho after him ,and that's what muawiyah feared for and was reluctant to let the khilafa goto ahlul bayt a thus started taking bayt from people forcefully for his son yazeed

Sahabi only in terminology, in reality he and his father were from the tulaqas(the ones whom prophet muhammad sallaho alaihe wassallum had given freedom out of his mercy) who accepted islam when they had but no other option left to chose between exile,death or becoming muslim and were totally cornered at the event of conquest of makkah
Lanat Allah on the enemies of ahlulbayt.
