Completed bias , didn't even mention all the AI features how they raise pixel above the completion of how even with a weaker cheap the optimization is top notch even booting up is faster , u literally took the negatives only , completely ignored the positives , there's a lot apple still does have an auto voice dictation no where near the level of Google or call screeners or assistant with bard ...

I always have to remember this is a Apple fan channel so I take what these guys say with a grain of salt when it comes to purchasing decisions
DON'T USE THEM AS AT ALL FOR THAT. They are clearly biased here. This whole "review" was purposefully skewed to try to ignore and bash the pixel. Go elsewhere. It actually gives useful info on actual day to day use, features, unbiased opinions, etc elsewhere. This channel has no credibility for comparisons.
Max this review could have been more balanced. You completely missed the strength of Pixel phones - their smartness. It's the best "smart" phone on the planet and you focused so much on benchmarks which the ordinary user will care less about. You may have to do another review 😀

Iphone 15 pro max is 2199 in australia and pixel 8 pro is 1350 after preorder offer. So there's an 849 Aud difference. My feeling is 849 difference is huge and as per the price pixel is worth it.

Bottom line: If you are looking for benchmark results, grab the iPhone that can't stand 15 minutes of Asphalt 9 game without almost completely diminishing the brightness and getting hot and laggy, according to the channel In Depth review tech
As a regular user, the pixel does the job for me, it wins on AI features and camera.

do you know that the Pixel can turn any photo (of a person) in a portrait in post? That kind of removes the advantage of the iPhone in terms of portrait. Probably that's why they did not really bother. iPhone has the edge because of the LiDAR, but it's a small one... PS. Pixel is a midrange, the pricing that they put after a few months is the real one.

If you think about it, right now in preorder you are getting a pixel watch for free, which is at least a $300 dollars off. Apple doesnt really lower their prices ever, barely by $50 dollars when a new one comes out. Upside of that is good resale value

It’s unsightly, sure. But it’s not for just a camera. The hardware involved in that notch/island is pretty great. No lag for Face ID and it’s the most secure. No fumbling with finger print readers.
Of course you don't care that's because you don't have a choice. Hole for the Pro lol. Those say it goes away is because Apple hides it by shrinking the screen when view pictures and other medias which means you purchase a 6.7 inch screen only to get 5 inch hahaha! From a huge oval hole to a huge black borders. Nice immersive experience.
Funny, there was a few video in the past weeks where Android users tried the new iPhone, and they said the Dynamic Island is less distracting even for them like the Crease on their foldable..

It still comes down to ecosystem. What kind of feature would have to be released that would cause a mass migration in one direction or the other?
When you turned on the 50MP feature on the pixel, did you turn on the 48MP feature on the iPhone? That would be the most fair way to evaluate that specific scenario. Both camera solutions look phenomenal and I cannot wait for the blind test coming up!
I don't think you can do that on the iPhone. The only way is probably to take a raw photo. Problem is then you process the photo and deliver the final product. 🤷🏼♂️.

There is not even one mention of pixels new ai features in this video, nor does the iphone has astrophotography mode, nor the pro controls where did you mention these, the video was hooked on string points of apple.
The ai features are all software.. that’s why it’s already being ported to older pixels. Remember when magic eraser was a pixel selling point and then it came to Google photos on iOS

He decided to go out when it's cloudy? What about the magic editor? What about face swap? What about clear calling? What about Hold for me? What about the text auto editor? These were the highlights of this year's keynote.

I have an iPhone 11. It does the job, but I wish there was a better camera. While the iPhone 15 Pro Max is a great phone, but it is too expensive to justify the purchase.
I use a Mac mini M1 as my main computer. I also use a fourth-generation iPad Air and a Chromebook.
The Pixel 8 Pro is a tempting purchase, especially considering the camera. Should I switch to the Pixel 8 or stick to an iPhone? I appreciate any and all advice.
That’s a very tough question my suggestion would be to buy the iPhone 15 even though the pixel 8 is an amazing phone it’s just ur already in pretty good with Apple why would you want to break that up I love how everything integrates well together

When comparing the two phones you do not actually talk about what makes the pixel phone a pixel phone. There is no doubt that apple wins on the hardware spec sheet. You have neglected to mention a few of the new features like all of the technologies in the phone as well as the thermometer and the 7 years of support.
Meh, thermometer is weird and 7 years of support is something that needs to happen before it can be pushed as a feature. Just saying it, especially if it’s coming from Google, doesn’t mean a thing. Those in the cybersecurity world knows how hard it is to implement 7 years of support.

He did talk about the 7 year software support promise, he also talked about the tech on Pixel that doesn’t exist on iPhone, he only didn’t mention the thermometer, which doesn’t exactly have a mainstream use case

Yes, you are right. There is not even a single mention or show case of new AI features google added, nor did he talk about pro controls. But the portrait on a 5x lens is more important according to him. And for display brightness pixel is capped at 1600 manual brightness, only in the sun can you see the difference, he simply ignored that part.

The most one sided review of these 2 phones I've seen so far. I wonder why this review seems so different than the other 50 reviews I've watched, honestly.
It really doesn't matter if you have a significant raw power if you don't have any use for it other than opening apps 0.01s faster than others. I have both iPhone 15PM and Pixel 8P and I just find myself enjoying the pixel and using it more.
Was there an scratch above the cameras of the pixel out of the box??

The Pixel 8 looks like a solid phone, but it’s the ecosystem for me. I use an M1 Mac for doing presentations on a big screen four hours a day. Using my iPhone 13 to airdrop, or sync Notes app, or copy and paste from the iPhone to the MacBook Air is a winning combo. It definitely makes using tech in the workplace a smooth experience.
The Mac equivalent would be a pixelbook. You could use the pixelbook go but I'm talking about the original pixelbook because I still have that one and it works like a champ especially for work. Also, if you want to present on a big screen for multiple hours, you can cast your screen or any specific tab that you want from your pixelbook to a Chromecast that's plugged into a TV. In terms of you talking about airdrop, you have nearby share which you can restrict to just sharing between your devices and it will share automatically without you having to grant permission every time or you can share to others if you want. The notes app is kind of weak because Google also has a notes app or you can use Google Doc which both sync live and you can use on any device not restricted and share with others or collaborate with. The copy and paste from iPhone to MacBook is the same for any Android device but specifically works really smooth on pixel to pixel devices whether that's a pixel to a pixel phone pixel to a pixelbook or pixel to a pixel tablet. Anything that you're mentioning, I would argue that the pixel does in a much smoother manner because you have control of whether or not everyone has access to those functions in terms of the sharing or it's just between your devices, which is what you would want for a workplace to reduce error and mistake shares
I also use Apple products, including an m1 max MacBook, m1 iPad pro etc. And I still choose the pixel
@@therealzuluking I agree, a pixel book would work fine. I try to keep my devices to a minimum and a Mac and iPhone is my preference, and in my experience the more seamless of the 2 ecosystems. My Google life can be done on a Mac and has the horsepower to do heavier lifting (video projects) so it becomes my preference. If we were working in machinists shop we’d been debating Snap-On vs. Mac tools. Both are solid solutions for work, so it comes down to preference.
Yea opposite for me, having an iPhone only and all windows or linux products feels like constantly shooting myself in the foot. I swapped my iphone 12 for a pixel.

For the speakers, I couldn't tell much difference other than iPhone sounding more detailed and slightly louder. I would choose the iPhone for the crisp cleaner sound, but the Pixel wasn't too bad so I would be fine with it too. (Especially since I hardly ever use the speakers on my phone)

There can be only one section for performance. You need not glorify them into 4 different categories. And that’s the only strong point of an Iphone. Where is the section for features they offer, and for some reason camera is single category and performance is cpu,gpu, memory, web?, doesn’t make any sense to me. Apple sheep

I'd go for the pixel. I hate MAC OS so I'm not bound to the ecosystem. Personally, I also don't like how Apple is inherently anti-competition due to locking their customers to their products which I don't support. These two phones are so similar that it almost doesn't matter what you choose, but I'm excited to see the new generative AI that google is releasing, and how that will work out.

99% of the users don't need that extra performance of Apples Chips or Snapdragons. You mostly notice it when gaming and editing videos on your phone.
For everyday use there is literally no difference in performance.
Google has a very big advantage with their G3 when it comes to their AI work and that's where it shines.
With that, Google's AI features everywhere are also far more useful than having that "overall" performance increase.

On the video on my Bose speaker Both Pixel 8 Pro and 15 pro max sound exactly the same.
The Pixel only goes to its highest brightness settings on auto. That's why the iPhone was brighter. You manually brightened both phones.

True, we are way past the point where only hardware matters. What makes Googles promise for 7 years of update is that whether you resell your Pixel or you hand it down to someone else it should still work as brand new.
@@alejandroelcid It is more than that... Hardware is fast enough (or just fast enough). Camera is the best on the market and so is the build quality. And google is the first to get software and security updates. Screen is considered super high end... maybe the best? But Apple beats google by 50% faster in hardware. And in the end I still say it comes down to eco systems.

One day, these reviews will mention the fact that max brightness levels can only be achieved in the "auto" setting. You can not manually set the max brightness.
Yep, "auto" setting is key and gotta look at that dxomark score for the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro Display that came out a few hours ago. Both got set for #1 overall and in their test in direct sunlight the 8 Pro was way better readable than the 15 Pro Max.

I am at the second pixel, pixel 6, it's perfect but I am very disappointed with the camera, especially the front camera. I can't take selfies with it. Too over processed, too over sharp. I don't want to switch to an iphone but if that problem will not fix I am afraid I should

Funny no one talks about the most basic element of these phones - the phone and call quality. I love what the Pixel does with calls and the management of calls. What does the iPhone offer?
I love the xr phone/speaker quality so you should be able to hear someone for miles with a 15.

@@nooffense911 yeah! I get a call from an unexpected number and I can have the Pixel screen the call to determine if I should take it or not. Saves a lot of time having to delete voicemails from spammers. I can also use the Pixel phone to advise when a call comes off hold and for filling prompts for number presses. Does Apple support such features. This is important to me. But then Apple has Air tags, while there no good solution on the Android side which is also important to me. But then I can use an iPad to do the same thing whether using an Android as a hotspot.

Yesterday I returned my Iphone 15 Pro Max, and pre-ordered the Pixel 8 Pro. Got tired of all the yellow selfies, ten photos shots so I can pick one scam trick and dull photos that I was told needs to post edit, why? I just want a good selfie...While calling for the return, I was offered an Apple Watch of I kept the phone...I said no...Feel free, out of the Apple prison😂😂😂

You say you can’t take a portrait with the 1x or the 5x but you can actually, you just change it to a portrait picture in post. You can make any picture on pixel a portrait photo afterwards.
Yes but not on iPhone level. I wish Google capture depth information for non-portrait mode and use that for post processing like Apple did.

The reason the iPhone storage is so good is because iPhone uses apples version of the m2 drives, and so far Apple is the only one to have such tech on their phone.
Going back to the S22 Ultra or before. I’ve only found, minus the bs fluff, that iPhone zoom is 15% of the Samsung’s capability. (Digital Zoom) Can anyone refute that?
S22u sucks & I owned that phone for 4 months.
The 10x optical zoom of the s23 was disappointing for me. Sold it now and bought the pixel 8 pro. The zoom might not have that reach of the s23 ultra but 5 times is enough for me.
I have only used Iphone. I use two phones. I did try the pixel 4 and returned it in 3 days. Battery and graphics were horrible. I decided I wanted to have an iPhone and an android phone so I got a galaxy S24. I used for about a week and hated it. I returned it. I ending up still using two iPhones. Then I watched a video that said the Pixel 8 is the phone for iPhone users to transition to android. I bought a Pixel 8 and I was hooked. I became obsessed with it. I got obsessed to the point that I didn't even want to use my iPhone at all. I completely lost interest in my iPhone. I decided to totally switch and carry 2 Pixel phones now!!! I got the regular Pixel 8 and I LOVE them!! I have so much fun using the Pixel. I am so in love with the haptics!! I think the display is much better and on top of all that the phone is cheaper. I got one pixel for $405 -it was an open box from Best Buy and then I ordered the mint color from the Google store for $499. Even when it's not on sale it's cheaper than iPhone. I am now #teampixel

Hi guys. Tell me please. Does it do 4k 60p hdr with lens switching at the same time like the new iphone 15 pro? Previous year 7 pro only did it without hdr, in only 8 bit. Does it do hdr know with 4k 60p lens switching?
Nope, when turning on 4k60 HDR grays out. Or when 4k30 with HDR is on and you click on the 4k60 it turns off HDR.

Google sweetens the deal with freebies such as the free pixel watch 2 this year. Easily adds way more value to the pixel side. Even without that im still going android. Just couldn't handle all of the limitations of iOS from back when i was an iphone user.
The Telelens on the iPhone is not even a real periscope Telelens..... Google Telelens is superior no questions.

iPhone 15 pro max has 48pixel as well if you turn it on in settings there is a lot more camera settings now 😅

Honoustly this was a way better comparison than some of your earlier videos, well done. Just had to laugh when you say the iPhone is a more rounded device that is great in all areas. This is absolutely the other way around. There are just so many daily tasks that the iPhone just cannot do. It is not just about the raw power of the CPU, it is about what you can do with it. Gaming and video editing: iPhone, most other things: Pixel.

All i know is every time and i mean every time someone needs a picture to be taken they ask me to take it with the pixel. Almost all of them have an iphone. You need to talk about software and what the pixel can do. Far more advanced than iphone. There is a reason why WOZ has an android. All these things Apple is doing like always on display, and usb c , wireless charging, live walpaper, widgets, Android has been doing for years.
On my pixel 8 pro there are 2 options for portrait 1.5 and 2.

But Pixel has ab unmatched user experience, while iPhone is just boring and plain. iPhone is not special at all, but while using a Pixel, you enjoy every second of it and you feel like you are a part of a super secret club. This is the feeling iPhone never gave me. It was always boring and too many limitations with sharing files and even photos was so hard.
In real world test my Samsung, my iPhone and pixel are all about the same. Benchmarks just don't tell the real story

Well to be fair paper will accept anything. I have 12 pro max now and I am 100% sure that in day to day use you wouldn’t notice any lags on pixel, any problems with „speeds” etc. Having all those amazing benchmarks on iPhone is cool but it is to waste since none of the software or hardware features actually use it… It is the only reason I haven’t upgraded my iPhone in past few years - there is nothing new in the next 13/14/15 and „The fastest cpu in the ipPhone ever” doesn’t make it for me. Slight change in the optics is not worth spending absurd amount of money each year. I am really considering going back to android next year if nothing changes. I really wish that apple used this amazing cpu for AI or other actually useful features but as for now I believe Pixel would be better choice for someone thinking about new phone
My point is that having an iphone 15 and above is like having Ferrari and using it to drive your kids to daycare 500m from house
iPhone 15 is great, but Google's AI and new Gen AI features is just too useful and futuristic to pass up.

Not really a fair comparison. I was in a nation wide retailer yesterday and could have brought two pixel 8 pros for the price of a iphone. It's like comparing a POS American made car to something made in Japan or Europe that costs double.
So as far as the brightness goes you should get a tool to measure the brightness instead of just your judgment just saying it would be exact.
Hmmm....this didn't seem to spend enough time on the photo features, and it pretty much completely omitted the Pixel's more advanced AI photo tricks. I think you should include these in the upcoming blind camera test, at least as some sort of postscript FYI/demo.

Yeah, I'm not sure what he's talking about. The pixel is lacking in the highs and somewhat in detail compared side by side with my s23 ultra. But that phone had good base and the pixel surprisingly has a lot more definition on the low end

I would love to see some real world metrics of the percentage of people who actually cross shop phones. Maybe 8-10 years ago. But now, seems like 100% of the people I know are 100% Apple or 100% Android and never peek across the fence to check out the otherside. I know, the only way I would buy any Android device, would be if it spit out a crisp new $20 bill every morning. I would make do with a old iPhone 6sPlus I have in a drawer before taking a Free Android phone from a carrier...if I was broke.

iPhone is great except for ios which right now is inferior. I had the 15 pro for a couple of weeks....i couldn't put a number row on the keyboard and couldn't even alter the snooze in the alarm?! This is such basic stuff.... big relief when i swapped it for the pixel
