Very nice leather slip. You could use a suspension clip in that hole, so you have a pocketclip. Works great.

Yes, that makes sense, too! I just went with the lanyard and Brass bead.

thanks for the video. Though I do believe you do not need the Kwik Thumb Stub on a Buck, besides you can open it one handed (as you have shown in the other video) also the thumbstub comes severly disturbing in the way when you want to sharpen your blade and when honing it on a leather, so you would have to take it off always to sharpen and hone it correctly. (to maintian the required angle because the stub is to big ...)

Yes, good points! I have decided to keep it off for now. I had not considered the thumbstud getting in the way of sharpening! Thank you.

@@urbanknifeguy honestly, I only noticed some time ago when watching a sharpening video ... and actually I really like to open my 112 with help of gravity and its weight ;) and then grab its back right on the fly, think thats a lot cooooler, than the thumb stud, which personally, also aesthetically does not really fit (but that is of course very very subjective, each to its own :) ) cheers

Sharpening requires removal of the stud but stropping does not if you use a hanging strop and place the stud far enough back.

@JonathanDawson-sm2yl You can't at the moment as you have not enough subs that unlocks your community page. The only two options would be 1) make a video slideshow and upload as a video. 2) upload to another side and link in a comment or on your profile page.

I prefer the thumb stud in a brass color. I think the way it contrasts the blade and matches the bolsters looks classy as hell. Only two problems with the design of the stud: 1. It really has to be removed to properly sharpen the blade and 2. It's hard to keep it flush with the spine when tightening the set screw. The torque you apply when installing it tends to tilt it and create a gap that is hard to avoid. I've gotten around this by holding the blade and stud gently together in a wood-lined bench vise when locking down the screw.

@@urbanknifeguy i tried to find some but no luck. I just got my first 112 yesterday and it’s definitely stiff but will loosen up over time and regular use. So hopefully that will help with opening it with one hand

You put the knife in the sheath five times and all five times it was incorrect. And there’s only four ways you can do it. It should be with the pivot down and the Locking lever forward. So when you draw the knife out of the sheets, it’s already positioned in your hand correctly. You don’t have to flip it all around.
