I'm learning Norwegian and am having a really hard time finding songs sung in Norwegian so I thank you for posting this. I was wondering If anyone had recommendations for more Norwegian music/artists that don't sing in English? And not lie rap or pop etc more stuff like this. It would be a huge help.
💗 Thank you friend. I'm just obsessed with this song. It was "shown" to me during a medicine journey, and now I just "MUST" know what it's trying to tell me. Sorry if I came across as anything other than a seeker of knowledge.
One translation issue immediately catches my eye - it's linden leaves, which would be indigenous to Norway, not lime. But this song is breathtakingly haunting....
Je passe juste pour te féliciter, la traduction française est presque parfaite ^_^ Il y a juste à 2:11 : "nuages" au lieu de "nouages" ^^ et à 2:20, je dirais plutôt "du fond de sa colère" :) comme l'équivalent de "from the bottom of my heart" c'est "du fond de mon coeur", ça me semble plus naturel ^^
@@kittykrafts0508 Nynorsk was a reconstruction of what non-Danishized Norwegian would have looked like, so really,it's more like traditional Norwegian. Bokmål was the Danishized Norwegian :). Nobody could agree on which should have been the standard, though attempts were made to merge the two.
I know this is lost on everyone not from the north, but have to say it's very strange to see so many Scandinavian songs popping up and being sung by people that sometimes seem to not even speak the language they're singing.
all the nordic languages are so pretty I'm in tears
Nei, det er ikke så sant

Do you Know that Skald is a french group ?
@@ulfednar767 The term is old Norse, but this song is in Norwegian.
Eldrim is from Norway... Wardruna, Einar Selvik... Kalandra is more pop, but they do have a few songs like this in norwegian or old norse...
This one is great! I love Skáld's version of this song.
As a Norwegian,I adore this song.
I need more Norwegian folk songs! This was so beautiful 💕
I think it's the best song I've heard in entire months...

@@NorokVokun IT NOW EXISTS~!!
This song inspired me to learn Norwegian... Jeg elsker den.
Vacker sång av Skáld. Hälsningar från svenska bröder, inte svårt att för stå norska.
Wirklich sehr sehr tolle Musik und anderes!

lime=linden
Both this one and the winter song version (on spotify) are tied, just wish it was these vocals mixed with winter's instrumental
ennesimo brano che trasmette un senso di trascendenza👍
Linden tree yes? It's called a lime in Europe but they're the same tree. In America at least a Lime is a green citrus fruit.

Merci très beaucoup !
This song was crisp 👌

Bien évidemment pas besoin de savoir quel jeu a été utilisé pour l'écran dans le fond
Una delle mie preferite, c’ero andata in fissa!!!
Yesss thank youuuuuu
Sehr Gut
Please tell me. What is the most beautiful lime leaf? What is it? What does it mean please?
Isn't Magnhild just the concept of battle might bring personified here, as her name suggests?
No, it's just a damsel in distress like many in medieval ballads, don't read too much into it
Aren't they saying Linden tree? Like the healing Linden tree?? Lindelauvi alle??
What Language Is That?
An older variant of Norwegian
If you study Norwegian, it’s like the dialect, Nynorsk, which is like old Danish/old Norse.
@@FlamSparks You Could Be Right
@@kittykrafts0508 Nynorsk is based on native Norwegian varieties, so it is not so much like the old Dane, but rather like the old Norwegian.
