The organist was killin’ it near the end of the praise break. I think that he (or she) was just getting warmed up. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the musicians.
I am not COGIC, but I do watch some Bishops. The leader that has been called home is given the up most respect. A funeral that will comfort The Bishop's family and they will never forget how he was honored and respected. 🙏🙏🏼😔
I had real good times visiting his church. When he visited True Light C.O.G.I.C. he presented himself as a kind and humble saint. I loved hearing him speak. Those words of wisdom I will always remember. He used to talk about the valley of the shadow of death. Bishop King said its just a shadow it can't hurt you. How right he was. He is with The Lord Jesus now. Death us swallowed up in victory!
I’m looking at this home going service a lot of those bishops on the altar aren’t here now sad but let his will be done. I’m no COGIC but I follow this denomination
Oh, he was almost 90 years old? Not bad. Wasn't too familiar with his preaching but I offer my condolences 🙏 🙏 to COGIC and his relatives & family!! I'm a little more familiar with P.A. Brooks, Linwood Dillard!! I look forward to getting to The Aims Convention in Tampa, FL in year!!

Robert Kelly any death is shocking just ask the family. I love following the black church being a white man I've always liked to listen to sermons and services. And I noticed over the last few years they lost quite a few ministers and pastor wives. All of them were not in their 70s or 80s they were some younger. You come across as a nutcase for taking me to task over my comment.
Good morning saints! I am trying to find out if anyone knows what the name of this 1st organ prelude is when the college of bishops is entering. It is masterfully done by the musicians and this is the 2nd time I've heard it. If someone could please help me I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
(Page Moderator) We're catching up on comments, but certainly appreciate your inquiry. The organ prelude is "Trust Me" by Richard Smallwood. We pray this helps!
I'm a mortician and one thing churches have to realize is that if it's a morning funeral service has to run on time. Cemeteries will charge the family extra money not one of those choir members or musicians will pay that fee for the family. So you have to keep it on schedule as much as possible.
Lord, help us!!! What did we do before cell phones? Some folks are so rude that they won't even put their phones on vibrate during the service. Very disrespectful.
Thanks for your comments and condolences. When they are able, the entire General Board attends homegoing celebrations. The weather conditions in Detroit resulted in cancellations of some flights.
@@can_you_guess_my_new_username OMG! You know what?! I talked junk out loud when I say Bishop Brooks using his cellphone in the pulpit. But after reading your comment, I remembered that my Grandfather (who was a Baptist Bishop/Pastor for 55 years) had a corded phone in the pulpit, too. I do remember seeing him talk on it a few times. However, I never, EVER heard that phone ring. How did he know when to pick it up?! LOLOL! I am too tickled thinking about it. He passed away in 2015, so I can't even call him and ask. May the legacy of Bishop Isaac King, Jr. endure and live on! We’ll miss him, but well done! Well done.
Thank you “LORD “

That bishop was up there in age either 88 or 89 he lived his life May he rest in the arms of the Lord until Jesus return.

Who are the band members?? I love them
(Page moderator) The band consisted of a group of local Detroit musicians who came to support the family in honor of Bishop King.

Who's the guy with the red hair in the choir, playing the tambourine? Anyone know his name?
I think it is awfully tackie or Bishop Brook to be on his telephone while in the sanctuary, and as the family is processioning in.

Ohh wow I've seen that drummer on one of the videos. Didn't know he was related to the bishop at 8:35
David Green Yes, that’s his grandson.
So we play during the scripture now. Us this the new thing now?
Yea i noticed that, now more in the north than anything else but its showing up in the southern jurisdictions also.
Where is the rest of the General Board!!!
I imagine that's a lot of traveling. They just had another Bishop’s funeral.
We had some really bad weather this winter and some couldn’t make it due to travel conditions.

They have been doing this the General board as a whole hasn't been to a funeral in a long time now its always only 4 to 6 bishops in attendance

AmandaNBS, I know that Bishop Wells had a phone in his pulpit and used it quite often.
Was Bishop King Sick?
Think so
Not really, just old!
(Page Moderator) He had be dealing with declining health for the past year or so before his transition. Otherwise, he was relatively healthy.
I know some can’t stand for long periods but Rance Allen was disrespectful in not standing for at least prayer and Brooks on his phone
Allen can barely move! Lol
Bishop Goff, if you are affiliated with the cogic, you should know rance allen's condition. There is no excuse for Bishop Brooks. He knows better.
