    Been using 3rd party batteries with all my gopro's 3black, 4black and now my 7black. no issues and they cost way less than the overpriced gopro batteries. funny thing is my gopro hero 7 batteries puffed faster than my 3rd party batteries. and i use my gopro everyday on the bike to work and back. so its not like my gopro sits in a cupboard and gets taken out once a year.

    Recording for 2 months without failed ,and have 1 original GoPro battery came with the device and 2 telesin battery, overnight will discharged to 50% and now worse, Now device don't turn ON ,my gopro 7 black shows "NO BATTERY" indicator when using external power bank , even 3 newly charged battery by telesin charger...its the same sign " NO BATTERY" [ I can still record with NO BATTERY sign] .I tried to downgrade from v1.90 latest to v1.80 to solve the problem but failed to manually downgrade using external source..What do you think i should do???

    3rd party (Artman) batteries cause my hero 7 black to work very poorly. The camera locks up. Video clips will get a frozen video track while continuing to record sound only. It will corrupt files and sometimes even tell me over and over that the SD card isn't in, or that it's ruined. The best I can hope for with one of these is that it will work, but the battery life is low, and completely unpredictable: A 3rd party battery will say 80%, then drop to low teens after only 5-10 minutes or recording. None of this happens with the original GoPro battery.

      Only if you have wifi, and voice commands turned on because if you do it will constantly try to connect to your phone app in the background and turn the camera on automatically once it connects to your phone app. I turn off wifi unless I'm directly using the camera and I've never had that problem agian.

    • @pirateradioFPV
      @pirateradioFPV 3 роки тому

      @@RollingCajunOutdoors Nope. I don’t have voice commands on. Look it up, the camera waking up randomly is a thing. My favourite one is when it finnishes charging, wakes up and drains the battery empty without continuing to charge even after the battery has drained dry and the camera shuts off. That way you always have a brick when you need your camera. It’s so bad I usually slide the battery slightly off so it doesn’t randomly discharge at the night. Amd it does it regardless of the settings.

    • @RollingCajunOutdoors
      @RollingCajunOutdoors 3 роки тому

      @@pirateradioFPV I know it's a thing and what is happening is your camera is trying to connect to your phone app all the time and it auto turns itself on. I just explained to you what is causing it. I turned my wifi off and it never turned itself on by itself again. I researched it for weeks till I found the solution.

      @@RollingCajunOutdoors Yeah but there are conditions that don’t require the wifi or the voice commands. Mine keep waking up randomly regardless of the settings, the 7 and 8 are the worst at it. Even my 5 does it occassionally, suggesting it’s a built-in bug to sell you more batteries.

    I have had some issues as well using 3rd party batteries. When I charge the batteries in the charger it shows 0% when it's transferred to the Hero 8. I plug in the USB cable into the camera and charge that way and it seems to help but honestly I just don't trust off brand batteries. Thanks for sharing I feel better now that I know what the issue is. I was blaming my GoPro for having issues and it was the batteries. 👍👍

      I thought the same exact thing. My Telesin 3-battery charger requires an input of 2A, and that portable powerbank of his is on the small side, if it can't deliver 2 amps per port (which the charger splits among the 3 batteries), you get this kind of problem...

    I stumbled on to your video, by stretching for “ why my GoPro batteries feel bloated”. I found some videos, explaining the bloating issue, but no videos addressing the GoPro batteries.
    I have 3 batteries, 1 original GoPro and 2 aftermarket from Amazon. The batteries were kept in the same place. I took out the batteries to charge them for my skiing trip tomorrow and BAM! One aftermarket battery and one original GoPro were bloated. I can’t even fit them in to my camera. Some people were saying it’s from the heat. But, I don’t remember keeping them in the heat.
    Anyways, I found no videos addressing that issue. Perhaps you can make a video about that.
    Всего хорошего.

    Nice video man, I just wanted to share my experience with you because you say that your batterie go to 0% whiteout any reason and you suppose in the video that it's because of the telesin charger and it's interesting because I bought my gopro 7 black only one week ago so she is pretty new and she did the same thing to me, the battery (original batterie) were at 100 % and she felt to 0% after one night and I don't use it at all because the camera were off all the night (and the battery has been always charged in the gopro).

      Hi buddy. I also just got my hero 7, about 2 weeks ago. This is a common issue. I managed to fix it and now my hero 7 doesn't even drop 1% over night.
      1: do a manual firmware update (videos online of how to do-super easy)
      2: TURN OFF WIRELESS CONNECTION!
      With wireless connection on the GoPro will never truly be "off". It will be searching constantly for connections. I'm pretty certain this alone will fix your issue. And yeah, it's a pain in the arse turning wireless on and off all the time.

      I wanted to add to your solution about turning off the WiFi. I usually leave the batteries out of my GoPro Hero 7 Black, and they still fell to zero overnight. I’m not entirely sure what went wrong, as before taking it out I had charged it to a complete 100%. I think this is an issue more with the batteries themselves, rather than purely with the camera.

    I suspect the Telsin batterys have a high storage discharge rate and that it's nothing to do with the GoPro. A couple of things make for crap batteries, first they don't run the camera for 2 hours (this is actually the mah storage capacity) and second if you set the battery around for a week and then see how long the camera will run (measures the storage discharge rate). Good review tho of these crap batteries!

    I've had big issues with the third party batteries overheating my camera! They get too hot! Then cause issues with the camera corrupting my files and then it has to repair my files turning my camera off randomly without even making a single sound. So I'm sitting around thinking that I'm recording while the camera has been off for 15 minutes. After I turn it back on it's having to repair the last file. The original batteries have NEVER caused any of these issues. That's why I use only gopro batteries these days because I've had major issues with the third party ones. You get what you pay for that's just how it is.
