- The Devīsūktam represents an uncompromising proclamations of the realization of Advaitic (non-dualistic). Also called the Aṃbhṛnīsūktam, it is the 125th sūkta (hymn) occurring in the 10th mandala of the Ṛgveda.

I'm in tears at how easy it is for our generation, and how I wish more people realised this!

Absolutely! And just a couple of decades back, it wouldn't have been possible! When some people say, "Oh everything is going to pieces" - I'm like er, not really - we've been extremely blessed to live with these facilities at this point of time and space. And we should utilize this golden opportunity the best we can!

I was blessed to attend a session of Swamiji in person. He went up the stage and his face illuminated like a bright sun and his smile was like that of a child. There was such peace in just being in the hall with him. I consider myself extremely fortunate for that opportunity.

This shloka is such a tradition in Bengal, that all private, public TV and radio stations play this exact recording in unison on Mahalaya morning. No matter what language or format your radio or tv station is, regular programming is set aside to kickstart DeviPaksh. TV channels play their dramatised version, but radio stations play this old tape recorder quality version. All the hip cool radio stations do it. Everyone of them.
In one of my many future births, I hope I will be born a traditional Bengali Hindu, just to experience the language and culture, and people.

With such devotion to Divine Mother and to Sri Ramakrishna that is so palpable in the life of the Bengali Hindu, it is hard to believe the lawlessness and the violence that West Bengal has been experiencing in recent times.
Every lecture is a gem - if I have a good karma - I am sure it was the moment I discovered Swami - and I yearn to hear him - he is so erudite / that it is not only message that is so powerful - his delivery is beyond compare / words are not enough to describe him - may he blessed with many many healthy years so we can drink from his fountain of his knowledge . 🙏🙏🙏🙏🕉🕉🕉🕉❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great lecture as usual by "Swami Sarvapriyananda". Blessed!!....4000 years ago "vakyas" like "Tat Twam Asi" and "Aham Bramhasmi" made absolute sense because GOD dwelled in people in those times - at least in Rishis. In fact GOD himself spoke through them and says "Aham".
In today's world people will build egos when you "You are that". It is impossible for people in today;s age to switch to mindset like that. Not anybody's fault but the power of Maya is very strong.
The best way today, towards realization, as Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa said, is to consider yourself a servant of GOD and focus on extreme devotion.
It is safe to have the servant attitude than the other bhavas such as children friend or beloved,e.g.Hanuman

I am 62 years. For all those years of festivities, bhajans, enjoyment etc, today I got a meaning of 'OUR MOTHER".
The references to 3 pillars of Sri Ramakrishna mission, the example of the Statue of Liberty, the list of War Soldiers, the historical events and the upanishads makes one convinced of what Devine Mother is. I had tears of joy to get this knowledge. I feel blessed on this Navaratri festival.
When swamiji said his physical mother used listen that bengali hymn, I knew he was waiting for the right time to explain all about it to the world.
All those who have watched will take it with different perspective. But you can get the truth only with Mothers grace. 🙏🙏🙏💗💗💗💗

Amme Devi Saranam. A humble request. Kindly give us a musical rendition of this most beautiful Suktam in your inimitable style for the benefit of us all.
I too loved it. This swami has a deep understanding of Sanatana dharma, and a deep and abiding love for Ramakrishnaji, Swami Vivekandaji, and Maa Saradaji. Above all in this lecture, he dispels notions of gender in the divine and if at all, she has a gender, it is the divine mother. In her womb, we enact so many plays, and that play which recognizes Her as our own selves is the play worth playing and becoming. As Kuldeep sir says here, Swamiji is so erudite and is able to tie together several western and eastern concepts of philosophy with ease. I was moved to write this. Your tender heart made you cry.
You're so right, Kuldeep sir. f you look at the comments here, everyone loved Swamiji's lecture but understood it from their own framework. "But one can only arrive at the "satyam" of Her magnificence, the one "Truth" only through her grace." How beautifully stated? 🙂🙏🙏🙏
It is quite strange and really hard to believe but the "most valuable" takeaway for me from this Sadhu has been "the love for the Mother". Who knows whether it is one reality or two, whether it is dual or non-dual..these things have not been reported, it can not be reported. But with the Mother on my side I can pulverize the galaxies and rake the universe... there is no doubt about that. Mother is coming soon.....Jai Mata Di!!

It’s good that swami is attempting to rectify the erasure and disinformation re the feminine aspect of Vedanta. True non duality requires the embodiment of the ultimate reality not just seeing the ultimate reality, Some of the most famous non dualists are actually the most ardent dualists because of the minimisation of the embodiment and form aspects only focusing on the consciousness aspects. Sri ramakrishna understood the feminine and the importance of living the energetic frequencies of Divine realisation. understanding the marriage of consciousness and matter is the ultimate realisation of spiritual potential within the human experience. Sri aurobindo expounds on this to the evolution of Human consciousness through the Divine Life.
I have one request to Maharaj. Please start a course on Devi Mahatmya in the light of vedanta like Bhagavad Gita.
I have only tears of joy on listening to Swami Ji’s talk . I have grown up in a similar environment and the profundity of the lecture has me enthralled. It is God’s Grace that we have access to his talks. Very blessed !

"theory is derived from theos and aural (?) which means 'to see the ultimate truth' - according to French philosopher Luc Ferry, so same as Hindu concept of 'darshan' - to see (4:10). . . the Rig Veda is "the oldest existing religious/ spiritual text of humanity" (5:10). . . first lines of the Devi Suktam: "I am all the Vedic gods" (16:00). .. "I am that One Reality shining in and through them" (17:43). .. "I am the one who gives all to humanity" (21:12) . . ."I am the Mother of all nations" (23:37). . . (btw, these translations are sourced from the great Vedic commentator Sayana, and from Mahanambrata Brahmachari's book 'Chandi Chinta' which has a chapter on the Devi Sukta) . . . "I am the source of civilization" (25:22). . . the statue of liberty is a symbol of how "freedom is obtained; bondage is overcome through knowledge, and the whole thing is represented by the mother figure" (31:13). . . "I am spiritual knowledge embodied" (32:32). .. "all beings who eat, who consume food. . . all life it is sustained by me, in and through me" (33:00). . . "I pervade the earth and the skies" (56:16). . . "my womb is the vast ocean of satchitananda, from which the Universe emerges (and again disappears) like waves in me" (56:36-57:17). . . ["we are forever in the lap of the Mother" -57:47]. . . "at the beginning of the Universe, when the worlds were created, I blew through that like a breeze" (58:28). .. sat - existence; chit - light, awareness; ananda -meaning (59:10). . . "this entire universe comes from me, exists in my lap, and disappears into me" (59:39). . . "beyond this is the transcendent sky of existence-consciousness-bliss, which is my real form, AND, I pervade this universe also" (1:00:00). . . "and remain established in my own glory" (1:07:43)
This is a very powerful lecture where Swamiji has highlighted both the historical background and the power of divine Mother with reference to Devi Suktam .

Only few Swamis of the order give initiation. Usually when those Swamis visit different centres they initiate the aspirants. However the main centre in Belur is the best place I think to visit in order to get initiated.(I have been wanting to get initiated for a long time but haven't been yet)

Listen to ISKCON only if u r interested in Krishna bhakti alone. Because they are only concerned about devotion to lord Krishna and NOTHING ELSE. So they interpret all the scriptures in such a manner,, be it Vedanta,, or Devi puran.
RKM teaches Advaita Vedanta,, as per taught by swami vivekananda.
The two philosophies will appear contradictory, because they are!!
That of RKM, and ISKCON.
Infact,, ISKCON openly criticizes RKM and it's philosophy.
So adopt what's for YOU,, and follow it to the very end. Without quitting. That's the real deal.
Be it, Krishna bhakti,, or Devi Bhakti,, or Advaita Vedanta. It's important to be committed to it. And not deviate to any other path in between. That would hinder growth.
Because,, all paths,, even though appear different,, take us to the same destination -- Realisation of Eternity,,

Pranams to Swamy Ji. My usual gripe with Swamy Ji and with RK mission in general. Revelations in Christianity and Islam are NOT same as revelations in Vedas. This is a biggest disservice one can do to Sanatana Dharm by equating all as same. All in the name of being politically correct. Religion itself is alien to our dharma. The whitewashing of infantile concepts and dogmas of Abrahamic religions here is called being politically correct. I am sorry to say this Ji.
Let’s us just deal only with our scriptures instead of trying to encompass totally incompatible religions of middle east into the discussion.
The thing is RK Mission respects every religion before this phrase 'politically correct ' is not even used in common.
In our religion we boldly say that additions and deletions are permitted in Vedas But this is not allowed in abrahamic religions.g.islam

Lets not forget, Sri Ramakrishna himself had the taste of Abrahamic religions by temporarily converting into them, which must have given him greater insight into Sanatana Dharma. IMHO, all religious tenets emerged from the God Almighty himself and were earmarked for each region in accordance with the climatic conditions, culture and habits. No religion is superior or inferior.

I had been told to read the Chandi translated by Jagadishwarananda swami. It has both the sanskrit and English version available. It is available from the Ramakrishna Mission book stores. It was first translated into Bengali by the same author.
