For as much as Christians put their faith in the Bible, I find it so sad that so many don't know how we got the Bible and the origins of scripture. I have had to do a lot of digging to get some good understanding of this as it isn't taught in the pulpit and I am so surprised that it isn't. Knowing this is so foundational as it is one of the biggest things under attack today. Thanks for sharing.

I recently had a Muslim tell me that the council of Nicea essentially created the Trinity! I wasn't sure where to start researching, so this couldn't have come at a better time. Thank you so much for making a video on this topic! Edit: Just finished watching it 😊 I'm going to rewatch and take notes after I get my daughter to bed and I'll be able to better inform the Muslim that I'm talking with!

Muslims would use arguments to try and dismiss Christianity...they are really good at that, just know your bible well and avoid these ideologies, it is only God's power that can win any argument as described by Paul in both 1st and 2nd Corinthians.

    Dear Melissa:
I very much enjoyed this video with Wesley Huff (a fellow Canadian and scholar). I was also quite pleased to see that you recommended his UA-cam channel as one of your “Ten(ish) Recommended.” I couldn’t agree more.
I just wanted to pass on to you that our denomination recites the Nicene Creed at every service of Holy Communion, as follows:
“I believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And of all things visible and invisible:
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, Begotten of the Father before all worlds; God, of God; Light, of Light; Very God, of very God; Begotten, not made; Being of one substance with the Father; Through whom all things were made: Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, And was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, And was made man, And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, And ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead: Whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Ghost, The Lord, The Giver of Life, Who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spake by the Prophets.
And I believe One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins. And I look for the Resurrection of the dead, And the Life of the world to come. Amen.”
[Please don’t let the rather archaic language throw you for a loop. As Traditional (i.e., Orthodox) Anglicans, we still use the 1962 Canadian Book of Common Prayer or “BCP.” By the way, the original BCP - or “Prayer Book” - was enacted by the first Act of Uniformity of King Edward VI of England in 1549 (it having been chiefly compiled by Thomas Cranmer, who became Archbishop of Canterbury in 1533 during King Henry VIII’s reign)].
Additionally, all other rites and/or worship services contained in the BCP (e.g., Morning & Evening Prayer; The Ministration of Holy Baptism; The Order for Confirmation; The Solemnization of Matrimony; The Burial of the Dead; etc.) make use of the Apostles’ Creed, as follows:
“I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy Catholic Church; The Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the Life everlasting. Amen.”
Anyway, to say the least, my wife and I are "big fans" of your channel and - as former youth workers and Christian Educators - are very much looking forward to the video series you are currently producing with your 10-year-old daughter, Jasmine.
In the meantime, we will keep you, your most powerful (and much-needed!) ministry, and your family very much in our daily prayers. Please stay healthy and safe.
    Yours in Christ,
    Father Alan

I respect the work you're doing. So many misconceptions are taught these days and it's so refreshing to find solid Biblical teaching. This interview is fascinating. I will definitely come back to it. I would like to know if you've heard about World Mission Society Church of God. It is a sectarian church and the teachings are a mix of Mormonism, Jehovah's Witness and craziness. My daughter is involved in that sect that by the way, has millions of followers and I would love for you to talk about it. I would write more but this is a comment and not a dissertation. 😂 I just pray you will feel curious to know a bit about it. At the moment my daughter won't speak to me or let me see my grandkids. Their beliefs have a lot to do with that. To give you an idea, they think the Holy Spirit is a woman living in Korea and they believe in God the Father and god the mother, who is supposed to be Jerusalem.

Thank you for interview and posting. Very interesting and helpful. I have a very human answer to people when they ask me how I can believe that God is triune. A middle eastern Christian once told his middle eastern Muslim friend that he himself was a multifaceted individual His friend was indeed a father, a husband, and a son.. His friend accepted the God could be triune without be one of 3 Gods. It was his first step to understand Christ as God .

Mr. Huff is correct that the trinity was not invented at the Council of Nicea. However, he gets some facts wrong. For example, he said that Arius was influenced by Socrates of Constantinople. Constantinople didn't even exist yet. Furthermore, Socrates of Constantinople wasn't even born yet. He also states, there was no Papal office established at the time. Even secular historians can list all the Popes beginning with Peter. I suspect that Mr. Huff has only been reading Protestant text books and not the actual writings of the early Christians.

Everyone should believe in Devine Intervention. We should believe that what is put into the Bible is what we need to know. Men will always disagree on certain things but we should be in agreement that the Bible is exactly the Word of God. Like Melissa says the Bible is a living thing. We should always pray for the truth we seek God will lead us to answer our questions. I have found that sometimes God will put my hand and fingers on a certain place and answers my questions quickly. But other times I am not led quickly I believe because I need the Foundation of what I am led to before my questions or concerns are answered. Reading the Bible in my sixties I see things I didn't see when I read the same thing in my earlier year's. It is growing in the Spirit and obtaining Wisdom of just being blessed to make it to my elderly years. Your comment is true but we have to have that Faith that God made sure everything in His Word is what we need to know.

The Petrine Primacy was established biblically and confirmed by the Church fathers since the apostolic times. In other words, the primacy of the Bishop of Rome existed long before the Council of Nicaea. The Council of Nicaea still needed the Pope's approval before it became binding on the universal Church.

Dr. Scott Hahn, Dr. David Anders, Johanette Williams (has a program called “Women of Grace”, on Wednesday’s with Sue Brinkman, they talk about the errors of the New Age). Sabellius was teaching what the third century Popes were teaching! Sabellius attended the Theological School of Rome which was against the Trinity. As politics gave way to Trinitarian Popes, the strong views of Monotheism and Monarchianism were branded as heresy. Why doesn't Huff mention any of this?

  • @peterj2226

Athanasius comments about Judith and the other books showed what was and is always clearly understood and that was that there was a primary canon of OT scripture and then a second Deuterocanon of books. He also includes Esther in this second canon which is a puzzle for those trying to use Athanasius as a support for their rejection of the Deuterocanon. Admittedly he does say that they are not canonical but what he means is that they are part of the second canon and not the first. He also admits that "these books are indeed read in churches by those new to the faith who "wish for instruction in the word of godliness" which is exactly the same terminology he used to describe the first canon. So in practical terms there is no difference between the usage and the esteem in the churches between the first canon books and the Deuterocanon. They all used and regarded both canons as scripture.

I learned that the Council of Nicea did indeed set the Canon found in the Bible. Books that were thought to be heretical were left out. This process did cause me to question and stumble for at least a decade or two. The question that still burns in my heart is this: Why aren't there any writings that cover Jesus' life from age 13 to 29? In my studies, I found books that describe someone named St. Issa who traveled through India teaching, preaching, healing, and working great miracles. And I always thought that so many teenagers and young adults would have benefited from stories of Jesus going through that same time period.

Very interesting, thank you. For a rather different view of Arius, see 'Arius: Heresy and Tradition' by Rowan Williams (2002). From the blurb :
"Rowan Williams argues that Arius himself was actually a dedicated theological conservative whose concern was to defend the free and personal character of the Christian God. His "heresy" grew out of an attempt to unite traditional biblical language with radical philosophical ideas and techniques and was, from the start, involved with issues of authority in the church. Thus, the crisis of the early fourth century was not only about the doctrine of God but also about the relations between emperors, bishops, and "charismatic" teachers in the church's decision-making."

The Apocrypha. Always wondered why the Book of Enoch wasn't put in the Bible. Since Enich was the first Person to write and take notes. You would think that maybe his Book would be after Geniuses. I do know that the Disciples used to Books of the Apocrypha as learning or teachings. For some reason I never wanted to dabble in the Apocrypha because of the Time of it's Existence. But I have always been tempted.

Melissa, I’ve watched a couple of your videos and I think you are spot on with the scripture always being the source of truth. Personally, I grew up Seventh Day Adventist and the Trinity is one our fundamental beliefs, officially introduced in 1980. I can say, like Paul, that I was zealous for my church but Jesus shook me up in 2017 when a friend of mine said the Trinity was false doctrine. After months of not wanting to touch the subject, I decided it was time but I didn’t want to be taught by any man. I said Lord you’ll have to teach me through your word. And I can say the Lord answered my prayer through the book of John. The scripture says the truth shall set you free and it most certainly did. I encourage you to study what God says and not man. Be blessed 🙏🏼 (Exercise to start, here are 3 verses that mention all 3, Mat. 28:19, 2 Cor. 13:14, 1Peter 1:2, connect all 3, who is God?)

The Lord established a church to continue his teachings. The church is there to make sure you don't misinterpret what you read. Heretics never set out to become heretics. They are convinced that the Holy Spirit has led them to the truth. Yet, they ended up becoming heretics. Only the church can be trusted. You are free to study the Bible but only insofar you don't contradict the church's authoritative interpretation.

Some say it’s because the apostle Paul and others came together to break bread and Paul preached until midnight. Acts 20:7. So it’s considered leaving the laws of the old testament and stepping into the age of saved by Grace. Old Testament the people made sacrifices to wash away their sins and met the last day of the week. And lived by laws. Jesus fulfilled the law, animal sacrifices done away with and everyone stepped into the new beginning. So meeting together on the first day symbolizes this.
      That’s what I’ve heard.

Judith is in the deuterocanon/apocrypha and is kept in the Bibles of the Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholics. Only the RCC has aggressively pushed this group of books as totally equal to the rest of the Old Testament.

Got any proof of this? All the ancient Christians and even the apostles themselves used the Septuagint which was a Greek translation of the Old Testament which included the extra books. Both Western and Eastern Christians from the earliest times reqarded them as equal to the other books making no distinction in their treatment of them as the divine word of God. Funny, this is the whole argument that Protestants use to show that early Christians accepted all the books of the NT even before the RCC canonised them. Yet the same argument is abandoned when it comes to the extra books in the Old Testament. Ironic isn't it that with Protestants aggressively pushing the Sola Scriptura narrative, the first thing they did was strip out books from the established scripture.

Very nice video indeed. And very useful. I personally think, that this DaVinci nice madness is really at the root of everything. Zeitgueist, mormons, islam, “Christmas is pagan” … you name it. So, “the why” is huge. Thank you for it, I think it will liberate a lot of people and give them peace and bring them closer to Jesus.
Now, I must comment on a couple things. In an hour talk about the consul the Catholic Church is mentioned a couple times, to say “It came about later + - ”… I never saw a protestant this well informed of the Council. But he literally says “The Pope, did not go to Nicea” (Something I did not know) Great video, very well informed but could this be a case of selective perception? (Peter is already given authority in the Bible. There where votes, but the Church was never a democracy, neither a dictatorship)
It wasn’t the Catholic? What Church was it then? It’s the Apostolic Catholic Church by the way. Why is there an obsession with "Roman2 and yet the "Apostolic" is alway ignored?
I don’t know, I just hope you keep pulling that thread. Be objective. Dig into the church fathers, even Jerome.
I’m not trying to be rude or funny or anything, I’m just so happy to see an Anglo Protestant who is actually up to speed with history and the beginnings of Christianity… Amazing. (Granted I'm not from the Anglo world)
I’ll just add, there where many fake gospels (and other books) as you can imagine. Many counterfeits to try and corrupt the message. The canon had to be “sealed” (later than Nicea) by the Church with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. That’s why we can have a sacred scripture today. (That’s another one, if the Bible is your sole authority, wouldn’t you want to know, how/where does it came from?) The Bible is a Catholic book… How about that one? (Even the “first edition” of the King James has the 74 books. Look it up.
It always had the 74 books, until 1500 years later when Luther decided to take some out, because and I quote “I can, because I want to” And it’s there that all the seeds of tthis Nicea madness where planted. Because, they had to say that the Church had been corrupted and was not the “primitive church” … and since it was the first ecumenic council, it had to be that one, including the Bible canon had to be added. And we just saw how big of a joke that is.
One last thing: The thesis for Constantine being baptised by an arian on his death bed, is very strong, maybe the strongest hypotesis. But that's one of those we just don't know. Some say it was before by a legit Bishop. What we do know for sure, is that he was not that into theology. He was a military man, a brilliant leader, but not a philosher nor was he a devout Christian… or even Christian at all, one might say for most of his life at least.
His mother was a Saint, literally (Santa Helena) But the battle with the image on the shielda, we can be sure of it as well. Before and after the battle. (And there where other events) Like just before the battle he was “evoking pagan stuff” after the battle he ignores all Roman costumes when coming back. He was “exiled” by the way. The battle was a miracle, he was going to get crushed, with 100% odds. The other army was infinitely superior. We know all of that and more.
The history of the Church is way far more “interesting and exiting” than any Davinci code or Zeitguiest. But again, with all due respect, many Anglo Protestants seem to think Christianity started with King James. The time of the catacombs are insane. Constantine and St. Helena is an insane time in history. The rest of the Roman Empire is insane (Emperors tried to persecute Christians again. A Pope went to speak alone with Atilla the Hun, and this sanguinary left Rome alone)
The creation of the Christendom in Europe on the ashes of the empire, where so many inventions and art where created. The most majestic Cathedrals where built, all fighting off constant enemies, both external and internal. Muslims, pagans… all of it. Battle of Covadonga, another miracle battle. Or Le Panto, two miracles where the faith of all of Christianity was at play.
Hospitals, universities all of this was created in the Christendom and I do mean, the concept of Hospitals. The Portuguese did the impossible after many martyrs where lost at sea for 100 years, they ended up finding a way to navigate all the seas and they spread the gospels in the 4 corners of the earth. They ended, canibalism, human scarficeis… Just like the first King was told they would do, 300 years before. (After another miracle battle)
Then all it suffered, during the revolutions…
I mean… Church history is beyond more interesting than the Davinci bad fiction. And it’s so crazy no one even knows it… Again, with all due respect Anglo Protestants are usually “Davici Nicea” and Bam! King James. Crazy, but other people don't know it either. For example: the Miracle battle of the First King of Portugal (Battle/ Miracle of Ourique) is not even in Portuguese school books… Or any books form the last century...
Anyhow, said enough… just got really exited about this video… I’m sure it will help a lot of people. Just want to encourage to take his lead… and keep pulling those threads…
Jesus, founded one Church. And said he would be with it, until the end of times. He did not say, there would be 30K churches… he did not say, you will all be killed for following me for 300 years and then… a new fake thing will take over and 1500 later a German adulteror will show up, and then my message will be back…
No. he gave the Apostoles authority and told them to go teach. And he made Peter the head of them.
Jesus, himself said his Church would be here, form that moment, until the end of times. None of this Nicea madness.
    Which Church can it be?
    VIVA CRISTO REI !
PS: Again, wanna say congrats on the video.

If pretty much everything we hold to be true about Christianity was based on decisions made by a bunch of men at the council of Nicaea, how can we be confident that everything we believe as Christians is 100% directly from God and not based on the decisions of a group of men at a meeting? Did God's spirit guide/lead them to decide which books were to be included (and excluded) in the assembled Bible as we know it today or that the Trinitarian belief is absolutely true and not just something that a bunch of men agreed upon?

Good question and it will help you to understand that all of our Christian understanding was provided by Christ to the apostles who handed it on by Sacred Tradition. The Holy Spirit by divine action preserved this transmission of truth perfectly in just the same way that the Holy Scripture was preserved true and inerrant by the Holy Spirit. The Councils of the church are powerful places where the Holy Spirit acted through his Church to preserve the doctrines of the apostles against vicious heresies.

When I read the Bible, I think we need to update the traditional trinity diagram to just say Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is God, and not explicitly say that the three are not each other, because throughout scripture virtually everything God does is attributed to all three in different places, to name a few examples, creation, the incarnation, etc. In Isaiah and Zechariah when the Messiah is being prophesied the way the text reads is actually Yahweh saying He will send Yahweh, it’s quite amazing. Jesus says He and the Father are one, which sounds more like they are each other and not explicitly not each other like the traditional diagram says. So i think to say the father is not the son, is not the Holy Spirit, is not the father is not really accurate. I think they’re all the same without being Unitarian about it.

    • @peterj2226
      @peterj2226 2 роки тому

I agree that saying that the persons of the Trinity are "not each other" is going too far beyond the definition. They are all the same being and substance. They are one God. There are distinctions between them however and that distinctiveness is best described as different persons. These distinctions are very important to provide a proper objectively true Christian understanding of the Godhead. For a very clear explanation of the Trinity I recommend you read the Athanasian creed. This was customarily read at Prime on Sundays until the disasters of Vatican 2 which has basically discontinued its use in the modern church.

The Christian's we're already all through the empire living in danger. Constantine's decree did not suddenly make everyone Christian. ...and maybe, Constantine saw the truth and believed!!

Thank you both for a very helpful discussion. In particular, it is great to know that the Canon was commonly agreed ("closed") long before Nicaea.
It is also interesting that many "modern" heresies, including the Gnosticism and Arianism found in various bits of the NAR (AKA the "Build-a-Bear" School of Theology!) are actually very old ones in the life of the Church -- and yes, I know you can argue Gnosticism goes right back to the Garden!
Your discussion highlights the fact that human nature is the same as it always has been, and so are the temptations and heresies to which we succumb. You can almost hear the devil saying, "I think we might try Gnosticism again now, as mankind seems ready for another dose...".
But, as Justin Peters (and others before him) says, "If you want to hear God speak, read your Bible out loud!".
Blessings on you and your houses!

The Father has no beginning and no ending(eternal) in the beginning of creation the Word , was the the manifestation of the Spiritual into creation. The best way to understand the God head is to see the image of God, mankind, body, soul, spirit. The Spirit, Father, The Son, body, the Holy Spirit, soul. The council of Nicea, was the precursor of the Roman state church. The Bible says you will be able to decern things and determine were they have their roots by the fruit they bere. The council of Nicea is were the word trinity was established but the Apostles of Jesus did not teach it. Jesus said, when you have seen me you have seen the Father. Jesus is the flesh of God.

I highly doubt that Ratzinger said that in his book. In any case the statement is wrong as shown from this quote from the Didache a very early Christian writing "pour water on the head thrice in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. But before the baptism let him that baptizeth and him that is baptized fast, and any other also who are able; And thou shalt order him that is baptized to fast a day or two before." Didache 7:1-4 (c. 60-100 AD). In fact Catholics still do this three time pouring in honour of the Trinity whereas protestants mainly do the dunk or the sprinkle or the single pour.

“Although JESUS was GOD and EQUAL WITH GOD, he did not take advantage of this equality. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the HUMBLE POSITION of a slave and WAS BORN as a HUMAN BEING. when he appeared in HUMAN FORM” - Philippians 2:5-7
    (Revelation 5:11-14 equal with God)
“Be shepherds of the church of GOD, which HE BOUGHT WITH HIS OWN BLOOD.” - Acts 20:28
Jesus claim those who have seen him have seen The Father
    “Philip said, “Lord, show us the FATHER and that will be enough for us.”9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you KNOW ME, Philip, even after I HAVE BEEN AMONG YOU such a long time? Anyone who has SEEN ME has seen the FATHER. How can you say, ‘Show us the FATHER?” -John 14:8-9;
JESUS is known as the LAMB of GOD.
In Revelation 5:11-14 the LAMB of GOD has been given equal WORSHIP, GLORY and HONOR and POWER at the same time as the FATHER.
Revelation 5:11-14 “And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: ‘The LAMB that was slaughtered is worthy to receive the POWER and RICHES and WISDOM and STRENGTH and HONOR and GLORY and BLESSING.’ And every creature that is in heaven and on earth and underneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, I heard saying: ‘To the ONE SITTING on the THRONE and to the LAMB be the BLESSING and the HONOR and the GLORY and the MIGHT FOREVER and EVER’ And the four living creatures went saying: ‘Amen!’ and the elders fell down and WORSHIP.”
Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, our Lord and GOD (Father) , even our GOD (Christ), to receive the GLORY and the HONOR and the POWER, because you CREATED ALL THINGS , and because of you will they existed and were created.”
In Revelation 4:11, GOD is said to be worthy of receiving GLORY, HONOR and POWER. By comparing this to Revelation 5:12, we see that JESUS is worthy to receive not only GLORY, HONOR and POWER, RICHES, WISDOM, STRENGTH and BLESSING. So, Jesus gets twice as much WORSHIP as GOD according to this verse!
Revelation 5:13 goes on to say that every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth and on the sea gives WORSHIP to the One SITTING on the THRONE and to the LAMB. If every creature in existence is worshipping, this must mean that JESUS is not a creature. So, the only other option left is that Jesus is the CREATOR who is certainly worthy to receive all WORSHIP.
Revelation 5:13-14 make it obvious that the ONE SITTING on the THRONE and the LAMB are both GIVEN EQUAL WORSHIP by the heavenly occupants.
Men are creatures; angels are creatures that are above men. But JESUS IS ABOVE the angels and is not classed with them When GOD brings his FIRSTBORN into the world, HE says,“Let all God’s angels WORSHIP HIM.” - Hebrews 1:6) In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.” We have seen that He is not an angel nor an exalted man, but the Bible attributes to Him that which can only be said of GOD. The begotten text is an anthropomorphism. The word is a deliberate comparison to humanity, as the anthro teaches. But never mind all that - doctrine is divisive; yes, thereby we divide truth from error! :P

    • @DGolden247
      @DGolden247 3 роки тому

How can the Word be a deliberate comparison to humanity if the Word is also God? Would that not be suggesting that humanity = God, which is heresy?
The Gospel of John, Chapter 1
John 1:1-5 clearly states the divinity of “The Word”.
John 1:1 (KJV) “1 In the beginning was the Word,” - stating that the Word existed before the creation of the world - “and the Word was with God,” - stating that the Word has a relationship with God - “and the Word was God.” - not only does the Word have a relationship with God, but the Word also is God, therefore God must be at least two persons.
John 1:2-3 (NIV) “2 He was with God in the beginning.” - making it very clear that the Word was with God before the creation of the world, thus having the eternal attribute that makes him divine - “3 Through him all things were made;” - everything that was ever created into existence was made through the Word - “without him nothing was made that has been made.” - in other words, without the Word no created thing could ever exist.
John 1:4-5 (NIV) “4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” - The Word possesses something essential to mankind’s nature, without it mankind can’t exist properly -
“5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” - The everlasting life that the eternal Word possesses cannot be put out.
John 1:6-14 clarifies who “The Word” is.
John 1:6-8 (NIV) “6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.”
We see John confirming who “The Word” is in John 1:29-36 (NIV) “29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.” 32 Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. 33 And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ 34 I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.” 35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”
Therefore, Jesus is The Word. This means that Jesus existed before the creation of the world, Jesus has a relationship with God (The Father), Jesus was with God (The Father) before the creation of the world, and that Jesus is God (shares the same nature as God the Father). Everything that was ever created into existence was made through Jesus, Son of God, and everlasting life is found in Him.
Back to verses 9-14, these verses further clarify who Jesus was, “9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God- 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

I've researched this topic a fair bit, but at the end of the day, I believe it really comes down to your relationship with God. Study what you can, and then "whether you eat or drink" (or celebrate a holiday) do it all for the Glory of God. For example, I have a bunch of Nativity sets and I leave the Wisemen in them, even though I know they weren't at His birth, and whether there were three of them is hotly contested. I know what I know, but they are still beautiful and remind me to be joyful in Him. I pray you, and all of us, will keep seeking for what delights our awesome Father!

The bible says to not worship Him with the ways of the Pagans. There is a freedom in Christ, but the saying of, " as long as you do it in love and reverence of God, it is ok." NO IT'S NOT. The Hebrews built the golden calf to worship God. He was not ok w that, he was angry. I was like you, but my eyes were opened. You need to read the word and not be led.by men who worship other men. Be a berean. You will change your mind once you see the atrocious pagan practices and origins of Christmas amd Easter. God established Passover Not easter. God is the same yesterday and today. God bless.

Very informative but there is still going to be ppl who dont believe this. I tried to watch a video on aHindu guru or something so he is explain the different between Hinduism and Christianity and talked about the "missing" yrs of Jesus and the bk of Thomas

The missing years idea always bothers me because it's a comparison between the Bible and today's biographies. They're no biblical examples of what they would expect to find in the Bible and it just shows a misunderstanding of ancient literature.

So in conclusion if an atheist arguments are
    1. Any birth not by normal sexual relations is a virgin birth
    2. Any issues in history blame Nicea.

I read somewhere earlier this year that St Nicholas punched another member of the council of Nicaea in the face.

The Nicene Creed failed to settle the doctrinal argument of trinitarian theology. Til this day it’s debatable.
