The issue is that lower and middle class feel their basics are outweighing the overall improvement in the economy. Jobs still don’t pay a living wage. They also see corporate greed increasing prices over and above supply chain costs because they can as a monopoly does not bode well for their futures. They see no change in a continuation of 40 years of increasing inequality

Meat did not jack up cost in a vacuum. Everything it takes to have meat went up, feed, energy, transport etc.
So each link in the chain raised their prices so they made the same profit, and consumers bore the brunt of the increases. That's why corporations made such huge profits.

The cost went up and that is passed on as it aways is. If more eat at home and they do more business it is possible to have more profit as you serving more people.

Yesterday a source (Kyle K) said that 70 % of the price increases are corps piggy backing price increase way over the amount of inflation. I guess they can price like they want to, but if true why hide behind inflation? It's what I think it is, isn't it?

It is a corporation's business to raise prices to make as much money as possible. That's how capitalism works. But even so, they can only raise prices to a price point consumers can afford. Now, if there's a situation where consumers have been given thousands of extra dollars because of a pandemic for example, distorting the market in the process, corporations will find they have to raise prices further to control demand. It is these extra price rises by corporations, driven by government spending, that is driving inflation. But, if they didn't do it, their businesses, and the supply lines of their businesses, would collapse. To sum up, price gouging is having a minimal effect on inflation.

If the government give support payments to ordinary taxpayers instead of tax breaks to the billionaires they just jack up prices so they end up with the money anyway. The other thing to remember is the supply chain issue is mostly due to these same corporations moving their manufacturing base to the far east to avoid paying western wages and maximise profits. "The Republican stance has always been "No regulation. Let the market control the prices". When a worldwide pandemic screws this up they just blame someone else.

The American Experiment stopped being an experiment when the government became unapologetically totalitarian. Probably around the time when Ike warned of the military industrial complex (1961). Filibuster needs to be improved to prevent complete garbage(ex. unaffordable care act, build back bankruptcy, freedom to cheat act, etc) from ever being crammed through Congress.

Question is how long does it take to clear the backlog and ramp up the production? 'Shortage' excuse is working very well for chip makers as well as car makers. Even used cars are selling for higher prices. If many people are working from home, where is the demand for new cars is coming from?
The chip shortages also had something to do with workers protesting Fritolays.
