Adjectives in English grammar | Position in a sentence

- In this lesson, you will learn about how to use adjectives in English grammar.
The tutorial starts with a definition and then I give you the rules for the form for describing singular and plural nouns.
The position in a sentence is very important. I explain the attributive position and then the predicative or predicate position after a link verb. For this position, it is acting as a subject complement.
Adjectives can also function as an object complement after the verbs "find", "make" and "keep".
Finally, if we want to describe an indefinite pronoun, like for example "anything" or "something", then the adjective comes after it.
For all of these different cases, I give a full explanation and lots of examples.
This grammar lesson is particularly helpful for ESL students.

Hercules possessed a strength the world had never seen - a strength surpassed only by the power of his heart.this phrase I've seen among hercules subtitles .Is it right to say surpassed or is surpassed and why? I think it is passive . Ed adjectives always come before nouns. I am confused. If also there is something wrong in my writing please tell me.

Hello Mr Andrew. wish you the best and happy new year for you and all your relatives, I have a question please. The contraction forms in english are used only in spoken english as you always remind in many lessons but I've fount them used everywhere in many english lessons , tests even in a famous stories. this is an example for that from the midsummer night dream- by Shakespeare:
'Excellent!' he cried. 'I'll be very good at it, I'm sure. I'll make the audience cry at my sufferings, you can he sure of that.'
+nas nas Hello, happy New Year for 2016 to you and your family.
It is a guideline, not a strict rule. It is a question of style, style and context. You can write the contracted form everywhere if you want, but I don't advise it at all. The contracted form is grammatically correct but it is not always considered appropriate.
The guideline is *not* to use the contracted form in *FORMAL* written English. (English exams, academic essays, job applications, business documents) It is acceptable in *informal* written English and also spoken English.
However your example is in fact spoken English! The words are inside quotation marks *" "* It is direct speech. They are the *exact* words that someone is *saying.*
'Excellent!' he cried. 'I'll be very good at it, I'm sure. I'll make the audience cry at my sufferings, you can he sure of that.'
+Crown Academy of English Thanks a lot for complete explanation.finally I got it ;-). I really appreciate your kindness.
There are many useful videos on this. I highly recommend these videos to others who want to learn and/or polish their English skill. Thank you.

Excuse me sir! About your example here. On that part " Did you do anything exciting yesterday? ". I think its "everything" not "anything" coz i read that using anything is for" no one" which means negative form of something.
“Did you do everything exciting yesterday?”
Thank u Andrew sir,it is really helpful to improve my English grammer...

+Crown Academy of English Hi Andrew Thanks for your answer. With you, it's X'mas during all the year. My english is poor. My excuse : my teachers were not so very good !!! Hum hum !!!
Is there in english some "abreviations" we found in french as "toujours" we write "tjrs", or "Bonjour"writing in "Bjr". It's a little bit lazyness, but nowadays, we shall go on faster and faster !!!!!!!!!!

Hi .Andrew.i want to explain what is meant bu attributive adjectives related to adverbials.please😥😥
thanks for the information

I heard that feel +ing is wrong is this true
Feeling is the present participle of the verb to feel and is perfectly correct
@@andyoneill3439bhai can you explain it more properly i have i lot of confusion in it
@@indoenglish5807 Of course. First of all, look at the base verb or infinitive of the verb "to feel" Feel is the infinitive… To use the verb in the past or present continuous ie, i was feeling (past continuous) or "i am feeling " (present continuous) The form Ashish is Pronoun (I, we you etc° ) plus the auxiliary verb (am ,was etc..) plus the main verb + ing
Great learning method
