    Thank you soooo much for explaining my limitations. I’m a single gal who needs something other than my dremel tool to cut rusty screws, and a hand sw for those 3” limbs. I have PVC that needs cutting. This will be so helpful 🙏🏼

      Thanks for the downspout, rusty bolts, tree roots and the PVC cutting ideas, now I feel bad that I bought an oscillating tool for those jobs. Can you use the reciprocating saw to remove carpet???

    There is new attachments out that have a scraper blade great for removing flooring and tiles. I have both a corded and battery operated Bosch and Milwaukee. Excellent saws

    I just got a cheapie from harbor freight for cutting a bush out (cut a circle around the base to cut roots. Bush pops right out) and will be investing in a Pro Quality version eventually, Still Super Excited!

    Rusty suspension bolts and exhaust pipes on a car are the only time I’ve ever used one of these saws.
    The whole yard work thing seems like a good idea though!

      @@RENOS4PROSJOES should i get lithium battery or corded? i have a makita drill system so i got the battery but im concerned about power. i know corded has more power but does it justify

    • @RENOS4PROSJOES
      @RENOS4PROSJOES  4 роки тому

      @@RS-hz1yiThe corded is best for most people. But the battery gives you more freedom and can save time. Compare the specs on the two saws you are considering. You will need a strong battery to run a reciprocating saw for any length of time. Make sure that the battery that you have is adequate to power the saw you are considering.
      I actually just did a heads-up comparison of Milwaukee's most powerful corded saw and their second most powerful battery saw.(It was their most powerful back when i bought mine). Check it out if you haven't seen it:

    I just got an inexpensive one. I have no idea what I'm going to use it for. There may come a time when I will be glad I have it though. My life circumstances have changed so many times over the decades, that I am positive they will change again before I leave this world. Right now, the thing I most see myself needing this for, at some point, is pruning trees an bushes, if I ever get into another place with a yard.

  • @zayeba

    I keep wanting to buy it every other month, but I still cant justify the purchase. It seems that Circular, Oscillating and hand Pruning saw kind of covers all most (not all) of the uses you talked about. As a tool freak, I would probably still purchase it in the near future.

      I got a second hand Ridgid R8643 (the Octane version) which is a few years old but really powerful especially with an Octane battery for $74 bare tool. For the UK that’s really cheap, got it shipped for $111 total, only £83. Similarly managed to order a 9Ah Octane battery from Australia for £162 ($216) including shipping and tax. Definitely have a look on eBay for second hand deals, bids can be even better when you win them but usually there are good ‘buy it now’ prices as well. With a recip you save a lot anyway because it has so many uses.
