- The concept is to connect every whole step and half step with chromaticism and begin to hear the thirds ,triads and 7th chords. After doing this exercise you can combine these chromatic phrases with arpeggios to create bebop lines over classic jazz and bebop progressions. This concept created first by the great Barry Harris and he calls it the chromatic scale. Practicing the same pattern in five positions or of the guitar or in every mode, is necesairy ascending and descending. I hope you enjoy have fun.

Thanks Taso!!
hello, is it possible to know in which shade (key) the chromatisms have been inserted? thanks and congratulations.
Ηello,in the key of c major(ionian)
Hello I haven't been having much luck finding information on this and was wondering if you could answer or point me in the right direction. I like the method of adding chromaticism within these scales and it works well however I'm having trouble doing the same with any scale that has an augmented second interval like the harmonic minor and probably would have an issue playing scales with consecutive half steps like the neapolitan as well. if I follow the rule I am essentially falling out of the rhythm of playing chord/scale tones on strong beats since I will be playing a consecutive chromatic note making the following scale tone the major 7th on a weak beat. is there a solution for working with scales like the harmonic minor? should I choose a chromatic note within the augmented 2nd interval then play the scale tone and double back to the other when going in a particular direction?
super ! from Poland !!
Thanks a lot 👍
