    #89 owner here. Fantastic instrument. I also have a L500XL but the stock Duncan pickup sounded great - I just like how the L500XL balances better with the neck Super D. Tuned to 425hz D 🤟
    I also think the earliest photos I can find of the guitar in the CFH days have a creme BL, then eventually the Duncan very briefly and then the black epoxied BL that lived in it for most of its use in Vulgar/Driven era, but it's hard to say definitively.

    Looks dope with the add ons that it didn't come with stock ie. Pickup swap and sticker added I just can't bring myself to mess with mine the way it came. Mine looks closer to his actual guitar finish wise idk if it's just your lighting but this one seems super dark colored but again these are nitro finished so they will yellow with age. Dope guitar glad I got one during covid brand new retail.

      Yeah my friend who owns this guitar wanted to get it looking pretty authentic to the original. I would love to see yours especially since you said how close it looks to the original! You can see a clear puc of it on my Instagram without video coloration.

      @@EricMorettin for sure these tend to look way different in p3rson in natural light versus any pic or video. I got mine and a dime slime usa right before the lawsuit was announced guitarcenter I believe only had 2 for preorder on backorder so I'm glad I snagged one. I've got videos on my dime slime I'll have to post some of the far beyond driven. Love the videos man. Would love to see a vid on the custom color Dean's that they made in the stealth series I've got a blood red flame top stealth but they also made a cool trans black and a similar look alike to the southern cross but In a stealth shape which was also a part of the dcl series or whatever it was called. Keep up the dime vids I'm sure I speak for most can't get enough high quality dime guitar videos.

      I’ve got #93 and like others am terrified to modify anything on it even though i prefer the dmt/dimebucker to the super d/d Duncan combo by a mile. For anyone interesting in adding a USA razorback slime to their collection MF/g center has them in stock and if you call they’ll take 15% off. Just grabbed mine for $3400 which considering what others are asking that’s a great price. Here’s my collection:

    A beautiful, beautiful guitar, not just for what it represent (Dime’s go-to axe for D tunings in Dean’s years) but also for how it plays and feels. I’m lucky enough to own 2 of these USA FBD - #82 and #90 (btw what #/100 is this in the video?).
    Mine are both complete factory, they mount the SD bridge pick ups iso the BL as you’re showing in the vid. Another difference I spot are the saddles in the bridge, mine are chrome and your look all black.
    I also agree on the SD pickup definitely having a lower output. I can compare with my China 2006 DFH mounting a BL, which is definitely a far more aggressive p/u.
    The most interesting thing I know about these USA FBD xxx/100 is that - as far as i know - they were a 2015 issue. However, I got both mine last year from a distributing store in NYC, brand new from factory. What’s not clear to me is how did these hit the sores in 2022? There are obviously only 100 around, and they should be a 2015 issue, but both mine are serial ‘21, and hit the stores in 2022. So what happened? Did Dean not manufactured all 100 back in 2015, and left some for later (including mine in 2021)? It would be great if someone could explain this!

    • @benburnett8109
      @benburnett8109 Рік тому

      yours are fakes.
      All 100 hit the market in 2014 and sold out within 45 days due to preorders. This is According to Dean Zelinsky. If you have "serial '21" X2 then you have a fake(s). Dean has not made these models since 2014 thru very very very early 2015. January of 2015 was the absolute last time period of construction and only 2 or 4 were completed during that time frame. According to MJ at seymour duncan; SD missed some production deadlines; due to very specific material shortages, Causing a slight delay in 4 completed guitars. The guitars were finished; they were simply waiting on backordered components. This would have been #97,98,99,100. ALL OTHERS WERE COMPLETE AND SHIPPED TO OWNERS BY DECEMBER OF 2014 Only the remaining 4 shipped in Late January/Feb of 2015.
      So these things are possible: 1) you are reading the serial number incorrectly (not likely) 2) you've bought a forgery times 2. There are no other possibilities according to Rita Haney, VInce Abbot, Dean Zelinsky and MJ from Seymour Duncan. VInce has done several interviews about this guitar as has RIta. Both have stated numerous times that this is their second favorite Dean released as FBD pushed the band into the stratosphere.

      @@benburnett8109 thanks for your reply man. At first I dreaded to think that was the possibility, because it didn’t add up to me. However - and I must thank you for this because without your comment I would have not done this - I just hung up the phone with Armadillo, shared my serials and they confirmed they are legit. They told me it’s hard to say why a 20 serial (I stand corrected from my previous comment, my serials are 20, not 21) why a 20 serial would be in them, could be they didn’t sell as quickly, could have been part of a second batch of production. But most importantly, they told me they’re legit :) Thanks for making me want to double check!

      Yeah these USA Deans are absolutely fantastic. Crazy that you have two of these guitars! Regarding shipping and production, I believe these became available so much later than 2015 because of supply chain issues (as of the last few years), dealer demand, and the fact Dean makes many other guitars in their USA production and custom shop line. It wouldn't make sense for them to put everything on halt to make all 100 in a year. Same goes with the Washburn Southern Cross.

    I own SEVERAL Dean's, and I love them all, but I'd love to get my hands on one of thos. I have a 35th anniversary ML, that has the same specs as that guitar, but it was made in Korea. It's got the full thickness mahogany body, ebony board, v shaped neck of course, and came with the cream on cream DiMarzio super distortions. I've replaced the bridge pup with bill Lawrence, and it sounds incredible. I love ml's. It's the most metal guitar ever.

      That sounds like an amazing guitar, and I would love to own one of those one day! You really can't beat these especially for a classic design. They're so unique!

      @randymiles904 Рік тому

      @@EricMorettin it's great. It even has the red side dots. The original run of ml's from 77 had red dots, because they had to use cut up pick up stix for the dots. Lol they had run out of what they normally used and one of someones kids had the pickup stix game there so they used it. Its very good. I own several and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. They're all good though. Like you said very unique and very metal. 🤘

      Do not miss his Riffer Madness book (a compilation of Guitar World articles)!! Great lessons there!! Dimebag was so great he didn't hide any of his tricks or knowledge; he didn't fear being copied. That book shows he was a very intelligent guitarist and with great taste and musicality.

    As an example all UA-camrs are snapping up dimebag guitars just waiting for them to start selling them for cheap because it no longer gives them views

    • @EricMorettin
      @EricMorettin  Рік тому +1

      Claiming all UA-camrs are doing that is a bold move. I don't think people are going to sell these guitars for cheap, and they're not going to sell these guitars if they don't generate views. Lots of guys with private collections have these guitars and don't care about views or sharing them with people.
