Its not mandatory .
It depends on your presiding officer.
Being a female If you are able ensure him to reach the booth an hour in advance in the very morning of the polling day ,you may get that relaxation.
But it's risky. Or if you have any relative in the nearby area its more than good.

School teachers are generally assigned the duty of P1,P2,P3 or PO according to their level of seniority. Lectures and people from other departments are made patrolling magistrate and sector officers etc.
