I feel like they just say that when they rage. You can have nostalgia for the other SSB games and appreciate them, but imho SSBU is by far the best entry. I mean nothing against the other ones, its just its inevitable that as time goes on the game will get more and more fine tuned, with a bigger cast, and better graphics.

@Green Crewmate I see it as good thing that it's not the case. Imagine having to go for 100% spirits to get Fever, that would just be pain. Grinding is honestly overrated, do things because you want to, not because you're forced to.
Ultimate doesn't have that lany flaws. It's just that we play it a lot, exagerate it's flaws and take it's good thigs for granted Other games have much more flaws but people don't focus on them that much
Yeah well everyone should learn 64, Brawl, and SM4SH, and let’s never forget, Melee have many many flaws. No matter what people say, Ultimate is definitely the best. Content, gameplay, roster. Can’t be beat.
Finally, someone has mentioned there being fewer special moves putting you into freefall than past iterations. I feel this gets swept under the rug too much despite how helpful it is.

I’ve heard that jigglypuff was intended as a joke character but then they decided to keep her in since she’d become iconic to the series, which is why they made her a bit better Pichu was a joke character in melee but they did the same thing
I also love the particle effects, like fire in Roy's hits or the darkness effect in Ganondorf. They look so much better than in previous Smash games. Also the launch speed is a lot more realistic. They don't go flying super slow like in Smash 4.
Oh my god yes. Thank you for saying that. I have a hard time going back to previous Smash games just for the visual effects alone. They look so perfectly stylish in this game. Ness and Lucas in particular have really improved just by having their PSI visually match Mother 2 and 3's visuals.

I don't think that having a combo that can take characters from 0%-80% is balanced. However, I'm happy that Bayonetta is a great character now without being 100% broken.
@@grotto185 I'd say she's balanced because she can't just kill you from 0-30% just because she can. And you can still sdi her in Ult. She's lightweight and dies quickly, has lots of lag after missing Heel Slide or landing it on shield. All her combos are worse and don't link up anymore. If she does somehow manage to combo you to 80% without you falling out, hitting her, or if she fails to read which direction you are sdi-ing in, she has a harder time killing outside of a raw smash attack because her combos become worse as the percent gets higher. Basically, Bayo is a character that you have to get really good at due to her obvious weaknesses, you have to be able to read you opponents almost 100% of the time (and trust me they deserve that 80% if they manage to pull it off), so I think she's pretty balanced.
@@grotto185 -Bayo has ZERO good out of sheild options (no quick up b out of shield or quick jab) and- a lot of her moves in general are pretty slow and choreographed (I think her fastest move is frame 6). My favorite thing about ultimate is just the attention to detail they put in every single character and every single stage. I could spend an hour on a single stage just looking at the background
Fun Fact: Fighting Assist Trophies was actually in Smash 4 too, (and I believe also Brawl?). You could attack them, but I'm not fully sure if you could launch them. They could be defeated if done enough damage to, but wouldn't give you a point in time matches like they do now. So the cool animations when defeating Assist Trophies like the "Smaaaaaaaaaash!" from Starman actually originated in Smash 4! (Brawl?)
Each time you hit in smash bros it shows some really cool color effects. It’s hard to notice, but if it was put into an anime it would look like the most unique fight.
Loved this video, My favorite thing about Ultimate is Hero. I’ve never had more fun with a character, I love how flashy, and crazy, and unpredictable he can be. How many options he has, and just the fact that he comes from a game franchise that I’m obsessed with is the cherry on top! I didn’t play smash much I mostly watched but after hero dropped I play the game all the time.
I was totally waiting for the inevitable “bayo suck now” point, but you actually managed to spin it into something positive. I agree that it’s a lot easier to appreciate the cool stuff she can do now that she doesn’t dominate the whole game. As an Ultimate Bayo player, I thank you :)
As a Marth main, I can absolutely confirm landing tippers is an amazing feeling. Getting a big reward for just the right spacing and timing is euphoric.
Oh my goodness yes. There was a hangout spot in my main college campus building with a permanent Smash setup, there’s something special about hopping into a 8 player match and just _stealing_ the spotlight!
I love how the game is not just a fighting game. There are a lot of stuff in there like classic mode, world of light and more. I love how you can unlock spirits, mii costumes and many other stuff hidden in the game by completing the challenges.
One thing I really like about Smash Ultimate is how diverse the roster is getting. Like before you had only nintendo characters, then in brawl we got Sonic and Snake, and now we have characters from all over the place.
Though I can't say I agree with all of those being enjoyable, it's so nice to get such a wholesome video! Smash is great, plain and simple, and it's nice to just appreciate that once in a while.

I've always adored the little details in character's movesets that serve as callbacks to their home games. Lucas getting his party members to help him with PK Starstorm, Snake's C4 sometimes being in the shape of a butterfly, King Dedede's final smash having the same missile pattern as the Masked Dedede fight, it all shows Sakurai and his team have a great deal of respect for the character's history.
Even though I’m not a marth main, I can agree that Marth tippers are satisfying as heck. It doesn’t even matter if you land a tipper and it doesn’t kill its still satisfying

12:33 agreed. Not only is there what you mentioned, but it’s also just a pleasant stage to look at, and the dragon roost island theme, which is usually the background song of this stage, is one of the chillest songs in the game.
I main Bayonetta in ultimate because I love her combo style, and it's upsetting that people think she's actual garbage, when she can still carry you from one blast zone to another in one combo at 0, although it does actually take a lot of practice now.
I love that it has every cut character (like Wolf and Snake and Pichu and Young Link) being able to face off every new character (like K. Rool, Ridley, Joker, Banjo, Steve...) and most every stage is back (Great Bay and Spirit Tracks are amazing!) I disagree with Elite Smash but I do think the idea of matchmaking was good.
I love how it feels like there’s pretty much no limits left on who could be playable in Smash Ultimate. The dlc has given us characters who aren’t associated with Nintendo, who haven’t been relevant in years, who feels like they’re a meme that somehow actually happened. If anyone tells you someone can’t make it in and their reason isn’t because they’re not for a video game, they’re just wrong.
The thing I like about smash. There was this smash tournament at my school, and I played mellee/brawl at a very young age. So I decided to give it a try. When I arrived in the giant classroom. There were only guys who were like 3 years older than me. And I was 13 last year, I got pretty scared. But with my main shulk I actually managed to win. And the feeling of your whole damn school shouting your name is soooo awesome. I will never forget it. I made a lot of good friends after the tournament whom I still play with today. The fact of having those rivals and growing stronger each battle. It just feels so good Conclusion: the thing I love about smash bros is that you can make friends by just playing it.
Point 46 is absolutely massive. The FGC likes to tell people how fun traditional fighting games are when you get to a certain skill level but what does it matter if you can't grind a game for hours every day (work,school, etc.). Furthermore, Fighting games are a huge commitment and don't leave much time for other games. Smash is an amazing game that provides the fun of fighting games at a much lower skill level. Outstanding work Sakurai.
The details and improvements really make this game shine. Fighting game characters playing like an actual fighting game, the amount of love and detail characters like Joker and Steve have referencing their original series... changes you mentioned like Ganon’s sword or special fall not happening as frequently, it makes the whole game a lot nicer.
Note: if Nintendo said “Sakurai, one of these DLC characters must be a Pokémon”, I’m for Grovyle Mystery Dungeon. A character with a fusion of dungeon items and Pokémon moves sounds cool as a fighter itself, plus I’d be so hyped for Mystery Dungeon music to get in the game
I agree that Bayonetta isn't crazy good anymore, the highest being high tier if you are VERY generous, but she doesn't suck. I personally like Bayonetta a lot more as I main her- She can still kill in the blastzones but it is harder, etc.

Finally, I’ve been looking for a video like this, all this negativity from people who take a lot of this game for granted I mean it’s nice to stop and appreciate how amazing this game really is, like how by the time Fighter Pass Vol. 2 is done this game will have 80+ characters and over 1000 music tracks, and with it being pretty balanced with no clear ss tier character, like this game is not perfect, but it’s damn close
My favorite thing about Smash Bros Ultimate is that it exists. Sure, the online might not be perfect, but it’s still such a great game that deserves all the praise in the world. I main Bayonetta in ultimate because I love her combo style, and it's upsetting that people think she's actual garbage, when she can still carry you from one blast zone to another in one combo at 0, although it does actually take a lot of practice now.

I love that it has every cut character (like Wolf and Snake and Pichu and Young Link) being able to face off every new character (like K. Rool, Ridley, Joker, Banjo, Steve...) and most every stage is back (Great Bay and Spirit Tracks are amazing!)
I disagree with Elite Smash but I do think the idea of matchmaking was good.
I love how it feels like there’s pretty much no limits left on who could be playable in Smash Ultimate. The dlc has given us characters who aren’t associated with Nintendo, who haven’t been relevant in years, who feels like they’re a meme that somehow actually happened.
If anyone tells you someone can’t make it in and their reason isn’t because they’re not for a video game, they’re just wrong.

The thing I like about smash.
There was this smash tournament at my school, and I played mellee/brawl at a very young age. So I decided to give it a try. When I arrived in the giant classroom. There were only guys who were like 3 years older than me. And I was 13 last year, I got pretty scared. But with my main shulk I actually managed to win. And the feeling of your whole damn school shouting your name is soooo awesome. I will never forget it. I made a lot of good friends after the tournament whom I still play with today. The fact of having those rivals and growing stronger each battle. It just feels so good
Conclusion: the thing I love about smash bros is that you can make friends by just playing it.

Point 46 is absolutely massive. The FGC likes to tell people how fun traditional fighting games are when you get to a certain skill level but what does it matter if you can't grind a game for hours every day (work,school, etc.). Furthermore, Fighting games are a huge commitment and don't leave much time for other games. Smash is an amazing game that provides the fun of fighting games at a much lower skill level. Outstanding work Sakurai.
I love hitting and hearing sheiks upsmash tipper, generally hit needle combos and also offstage snipes with a projectile in general are pretty cool
The details and improvements really make this game shine. Fighting game characters playing like an actual fighting game, the amount of love and detail characters like Joker and Steve have referencing their original series... changes you mentioned like Ganon’s sword or special fall not happening as frequently, it makes the whole game a lot nicer.
Note: if Nintendo said “Sakurai, one of these DLC characters must be a Pokémon”, I’m for Grovyle Mystery Dungeon. A character with a fusion of dungeon items and Pokémon moves sounds cool as a fighter itself, plus I’d be so hyped for Mystery Dungeon music to get in the game
I agree that Bayonetta isn't crazy good anymore, the highest being high tier if you are VERY generous, but she doesn't suck. I personally like Bayonetta a lot more as I main her-
She can still kill in the blastzones but it is harder, etc.

Finally, I’ve been looking for a video like this, all this negativity from people who take a lot of this game for granted I mean it’s nice to stop and appreciate how amazing this game really is, like how by the time Fighter Pass Vol. 2 is done this game will have 80+ characters and over 1000 music tracks, and with it being pretty balanced with no clear ss tier character, like this game is not perfect, but it’s damn close

My favorite thing about Smash Bros Ultimate is that it exists. Sure, the online might not be perfect, but it’s still such a great game that deserves all the praise in the world. Which the more I think about it, kinda sums up Nintendo as a whole: not perfect, but definitely deserves a bunch of praise.
This game is so beautifully designed like have people seen world of light? That must have taken so much time and effort just to make the designs and the spirits? Like that alone is amazing about smash and then theirs just so much more. Its not just competitive smash that smash is their are some truly beautiful and detailed things that some people don't appreciate. Also certain moves specially like sheik holding the needles when their charged while she's doing moves really dont get noticed when the little things are some of the best things about this game not just competitive and camping and annoying characters.
Well I can tell you 2 things I like about this channel:
1) poppt1 time and dedication for his videos
2) DK song and the dancing sticks at the end of the video 😂
