I've found that it's best to prioritise group shields and heals over group attack buffs on a tank when running PUGs. You wind up with a lot of 3 DPS runs and when that happens you can pull double duty and protect the weaker ones a bit.
Thank you for that video, I was waiting for it every day! I am a little sad now that I see that my setup is pretty much the same as you would set up a Templar. And I am sad because Templar just feels so weak in fights if you compare it to other classes. But great and detailed video! Thx!
Dude ive been binge watching your guides to better understand the tanks ( the role i like to play) but this got me thinking, is there any channel about the other roles you would recommend?
I would really like to see a list of specific Champion point slotted configurations for each of the different trials. As a new tank, I'm really struggling to figure out what I should be slotting in the blue tree in particular. Also, since I play on PS4, I'd love to find a one-size-fits-all solution, but I don't think that's probably viable.
Do you have any suggestions for a healer/tank build for vet dungeon content? I am Theory crafting atm but was curious if you have given this concept some thought?
@@Hyperioxes Honestly, it would be pretty sweet if you'd put the fashion in the description of your videos. You honestly have the best taste in fashion out of any ESO content creators I've seen. Kudos!
I don't have ESO+ (only the "Collection: Necrom") so I don't have access to all of the gear sets yet and I'm having trouble figuring out what sets to use for my Templar tank from what sets I have access to. I didn't see this mentioned at all in this video. Is there a different video with a ranking of potential Templar tank gear sets for doing Trials?
Powerful Assault is one of the meta sets and it isn't locked behind DLCs. As for the other set, you could use one of the crated sets I suggested for beginners like Wretched Vitality. It doesn't provide anything for the group but there's very little choice if you don't have Eso+
Do you have any suggestions for managing resources for this build? I'm having some trouble keeping my magika up, so I just wanted to see if you had any advice.
I mostly do healing, but my main templar can do both healing and tanking. Yeah, magica can be tough to keep up. I mitigate that mostly with the rune set to restore magica (instead of stamina). Don't forget you can always heavy attack too. Not great when tanking but an option. (Being forced to do it 'out of rotation' I mean.) Really it's about not just spamming abilities, but only using them when you need. Like it's really tempting to keep your Sun Shield up all the time, but if you instead only hit it when you are down on hp a bit, you'll save a lot of mana. Really though, that's on the group. If you are running out of magica or stamina you likely aren't getting enough synergies. I really have to control how mad I get at groups when I'm taking for not giving synergies. It's actually kind of mindboggling how many healers/other supports just don't give resources or synergies at all.
It depends what kind of group you want to run with, if it's more casual or the content they want to run isn't that hard then you're more than fine with a templar build, however if the group cares about optimization then they probably don't want you on a templar. You will also have an easier time on other classes in very hard trials.
Wouldn't Luminous Shards technically be better than the Orb since it restores both resources while orb only restores one? Sure, throwing it out often as a tank is a lot tougher than as healer, but wouldn't that be the 'ideal' recovery since it's doing both?
you lost me. Could you perhaps dumb it down to something i could use for everything? because I just got confused with the constant switching and judgeing. With Dungeon speed runners you dont get the Luxury or time to switch, before they are half way through and you run to catch up.
If they are able to speed run you can just run a default tank set up. I use the console one generally. If they are speed running and dying, that’s their problem. I’d only really take the time to swap skills on some hardmode vet dlc dungeons to make life easier.
This guide is now also on my website - hyperioxes.com/eso-templar-tank-guide-and-build
Literally checked the channel 15 mins ago to create a sorc or templar tank :'D Created the sorc and now this came out. GG

Thanks for this very thorough guide - I feel ready to meme tank now 😁
Good guide, really detail one!
In your CP star charts, the blue chart has #8 twice and the red chart has #1 twice.
Thanks a lot for spotting it
You should go over the restore stamina/magicka poisons as opposed to abosrb magicka/stamina enchants
I’d love to see your opinions
I like this 😎
best guide there is but I'd like to suggest giving us and extra 1 or 2 seconds to pause for the setups, my reflexes arent that fast
I already made the same mistake while editing the upcoming updated DK guide but I'll try to make it slower in next ones

Great stuff!
I wonder if they would update the four classic classes to have dedicated skill trees like the newer classes.

Hello, excellent material, please tell me what addon you use that displays the rollback of proc sets, tidal wave, deverick, etc.

Could you do all class tanks this way in the video . This template is amazing
Would you recommend running double staff for any Trial as a main tank? 🧐
@Hyperioxes, how did you get the skills ratios ? Please ^^

Also quick question. Is this a good build for progression? (The best is probably DK or Arcanist) but people would not hate me if I take this?

i left the game around arcanists release hows arcanist tank doing on optimizated groups? or arcanist healer if u know that@@eco_2128

No, because Orb also has a secondary effect like AoE damage or AoE heal depending on the morph
Comment removed due to changes in eso sets. (Tormentor related)
I use this for trash packs. It makes for a nice "carpet of corpses" when the fights are over.
Tormentor and rushing agony is vateshran on roids
That is now gone lol

what your take on one bar tank, nord dk?
1 bar tanks should not exist
