It’s been a dream of my dads since I started playing piano since I was 6, that I learn to play this song!!! I loved that you started out with a prayer, as a christian seeing a youtube channel open in prayer is showing that there are people, like Wade, trying to make the world full of God's love and mercy. thanks for the lesson. correct the song is in key of E (so 4 sharps -- F# C# G# D#), I have what I believe to be the official sheet music; I can play this on guitar (pretty well) but just learning piano and have been giving it a try off and on, for the last 2 weeks. I find it interesting you choose not to play the melody lines of the treble clef (rather played the chords), which I personally thinks sounds better with the lyrics. example; "I Can only imagine", would be -- (RH) B, B, G#, F#, E, F#. G# -- but everyone has their own style. I learned the intro exactly has you teach; again, Great lesson. God Bless.
This video was helpful but the intro of the chords so quickly got me a little confused as I haven't played on over two years so am extremely out of practice. I much admire opening in prayer, it's so important to remember the one who gave us the ability to play and bring praise to Him through it.

I'm struggling with this one wade. How do you do the offset timing from the left and right hands. Four notes on left while three on the right for that staff?
Valance Bohm My only good answer is time. I've spent many hours training my hands to do what I need them to do. Break it down and play slowly... after time somehow it starts to happen. You can do it!!! Sometimes I put on a movie during practice like that.
What really happens me when I first started leading was to play which note at a time. For example one not on the right hand and then play the next note on the left hand and slowing you get the practice of it.

The first part I have wrote down as I watched you do it but you talked little of the second part on the right hand. This is what I have for the beginning of the right hand including the sharps.. D E B D E A D E B then I think D E C then finally D E A. Absolutely love this song. The left hand in the beginning does take time. I noticed I really struggled with that because I was thinking too hard rather than just making the attempt.
