Right on - clear, perfect video on how to fix a Ford! We are not just a cat channel - we are big Ford fans! Always good to learn! We live in the country, where the Ford is number one choice. Though our Fords are all new, there are a ton of farmers here who could use this video! Thank you! Will share now. New fans (what so funny? Our cats know how to drive, LOL)
I've got a f-150 2003 but I don't think I need to replace it , I think its been unscrewed or detached somewhere from the bottom near the the passenger seat around the right tire area
I discovered the removal of hose since it’s not being reused was made easy by cutting tubing close to fitting then use a socket. Easy way to remove and save your knuckles
Also the pump hold down bolt behind the line has to be inserted in its hole before you put the line on as you won't be able to insert the bolt after the hose is attached
The hose nut to the steering pump is an 18mm. I didn't have one so I used a hand grinder and ground down a 11/16 a little at a time until it would just slip on. This nut is on really tight. I was replacing the pump so I took the pump off then got the hose off the pump. used a breaker bar on my wrench to break it lose. So good luck breaking it lose under the vehicle. Got to be careful not to chip or break the pulley as this nut is almost under it. I chipped my pulley breaking it lose but had a new rebuilt so didn't matter.

That’s a bad design by Ford - Tried to replace mine it is also leaking at the fitting on the pump side and I can’t get a damn wrench tool to fit in the space don’t want to strip it with the small crescent wrench -will need to get one of those open end wrenches and cut the end short to fit in the crammed space

Love how you filmed this video, thanks for stopping by my channel.
Thanks!
What if you just cut the hose off and put a sock it to it since you're replacing the high pressure hose
You could cut it and put a socket on it if you want.
Thank you so much this will help me so much instead of taking off the power steering pulley
Welcome!

Since your changing the line, can you just cut it off at the nut and use a socket on it?
You could

the line nut to the steering gear (bottom of line) is a 5/8. at least that is what I used to take my line off on my 2000 F150 4.2 V6
