Classic moment lol. Joe is such a great supporting team member. My favorite is still his unbelievable manicore kill... Epic... "and that's how you Pluto Jackson! “
Kelly trying to push his main plot arc while Joe makes Monty lose it by invoking “dibs” was just *chef’s kiss*. I love this campaign. You guys are all great.
2:30:10 Monty laughing so hard at Pluto telling Sebastian to stop bitching over him feeling bad one one girl he sent to hell when he has killed soooo many people and not losing any sleep over it - is everything
Yes, it did bring out the emotions for the right reason. You guys do a great job with your role playing and Monty is a great DM! This has been one great ride so far.
Best episode yet! Had me crying laughing when Pluto was recalling to Sebastian of how he killed a courtyard full of paladins. Hats off to Montyfor creating such a rich campaign where the players really have strong ties to the setting and the people within it it makes no decision mundane or automatic and really adds a sense of drama to the story. I just can't say enough good things about this campaign and group.
Pluto with that 100 Speech skill to persuade Sebastian at the end of that episode had me crying with laughter. Also, the Queen of Thieves is my favourite villain - the look on everyone's face when she turned up was brilliant!
I see a lot of DnD shows online, but you guys are the absolute best! And after almost 150 hours of watching, I still can't wait for next week. THANK YOU!!!
The chemistry between these three players! So good. This whole episode was a rollercoaster of emotions, from Horror to Tears to solemn Serious to Laughter... and we are right there with them, laughing and crying along the way. Great stuff again this week guys! Just gotta comment... Monty is usually so composed, it was fun to see him LOSE IT as the players recalled some of the campaigns shenanigan's! Wish I could say 'Hi!' @ PAX in Philly guys, maybe next year.... have a great time!
The ability for players to have their characters have a genuine argument while cracking up out of character is something I strive for! A rare moment that can only happen at a heavily invested table of good friends. Monty losing his composure and laughing maniacally is so wonderful, even if it is due to him being a brutal DM and pushing the party into tough decisions. Love it!
@Dungeon Dudes Im sorry im kinda prone to tears in touchy moments like this even if its all just roleplay Im just so into the moment that it is hard for me to remember its all just a game lol I guess i really do have chuunibyou lol
Hey! I've been binge watching you guys since September and I have fallen in LOVE with how you RP and interact in Drakkenhiem. I've always enjoyed RPG's, D&D 3.5 being my first when I was little. I haven't really ever looked into 5e, but getting to watch how 5e works and plays is so much fun! And my only regret is that I've *FINALLY* caught up. I love Veos cunning, Plutos courageousness, and Sebastians charm, and hope to get to see them live on your next Livestream! keep on rolling those crit successes, you lot have really rekindled my love for D&D and gotten me even more interested in 5e!
This was the best episode by far! I'm floored by the complexity and brilliance of this campaign, and the steady reminders of everyone's goals, stakes, desires, and feelings. This feels so real and excellent to me and I genuinely feel like I'm watching a legendary series unfold in front of my eyes, as opposed to 4 nerds playing D&D. I love it, I love you guys! This is amazing and the stakes have me stressing, the feelings have me crying, and the cloud of worry is mind numbing!
It seems I was wise to hold off commenting last week, wanting to see what sort of answers might await in the throne room. I'm even glad it wasn't the "full revelation" mode yet - but seeing what was there already helps a great deal. Also very pleased with the party that they managed to overcome murderous instincts and retreat from the scouting mission safely and wisely - with stakes being what they are, I could easily see blowing up the crystals in the throne room the way they were thinking to turning out spectacularly bad for everyone. Looks like there'll be some fun times coming, choice-wise! But even with that - I do think the Castle came out alright; it makes sense for others to not have had much success getting into there and out, with the threats it's revealed to contain, and it's still both a challenge and not too terribly much of one to deal with for the appropriate-level (and clever) party. Really glad they managed to dodge the reflavoured beholder last session, on that note - yet again, love to see parties play smart and effective as opposed to just bloodthirsty. Also have to commend the fact that this setting isn't just copying the same tired ol' Forgotten Realms-style cosmology, that it borrows from a whole slew of different sources, that one included but not exclusively so. Really nice to see another setup with planar forces being at play - being able to act more directly within physical reality, without Out of the Abyss-like things attached. Just felt like bringing it up and thanking Monty for - great to not have same ol' same 'ol in such a well-crafted high-profile campaign. Also, we low-key DOOM now. P.S. THANK YOU PEOPLE for not falling into the mire of shipping characters and strangling things by awkward romance subplots. Whatever shipping desires and teasing may exist, I'm just... so freaking glad to see the party still overall playing out as a team of friends and companions, and not a convoluted tangle of shipping. I'm so sick and tired of everyone ignoring close bonds of camaraderie and friendship and sibling-like connection that need not necessarily involve romance or lewd things - not bloody everything needs to have the bedroom as its goal. Here's one for friendship in battle, everyone!
This is one of my favourite episodes. But to be fair, the way in which you wonderful people are exponents of the art of DnD has helped reinvigorate my passion for the game, along every step of the way towards your dungeons of drakenheim conclusion.... each part has its own story to tell as regards this art and game form that only now it seems people are more widely acknowledging is worthy of the cultural recognition it deserves. Thanks for making us old first edition nerds seem justified guys. Being a shy and lazy person I have only taken the trouble to acknowledge my appreciation once. But having caught up with some of your other advice videos about playing NPCs and others, which have helped remind me (a first generation DM coming back after many years, if that needs emphasising!!), I could subsist just listening to you guys and your adventures. I just loved the pathos in tonight’s episode with Sebastian and his father, when contrasted with the subsequent comedy as the characters worked their way through Sebastian’s moral dilemmas of casting one into the abyss compared with killing other folk indiscriminately. Classic!
Wonderful Episode! Sebastian do you consider asking your mom for info on the throne demon? Veo´s story to the council was the best! wonderful work guys!
I'm not caught up yet... But is there a chance the destroyed statue in the mirror dimension was Orcus brother-demon? She was messing with some terrible powers.
Dear lord people! :D One step at a time: kill the beholder thing->talk to papa->maybe kill the minotaur thing and control the dragon->kill the thing on the throne, everything after that doesn't need to be connected or a choice; George gets to become the king with a new capital, deal with the ratlings and the paladin army with whatever means is available, once everything is mostly settled afterward Kat opens the path to Mouse, Drakkenforce goes in after Mouse. But the most important thing: at least start taking the first step.
does anybody else think that the stewart wants the badges to strengthen him in the fight against what's on the throne, thereby weakening it for when the players attack it?
The fly swarm reminded me of Wayne Barlowe's book about Hell & his description of Beelzebub. If you've never seen his paintings or read the books, you should check them out, very inspiring.
Its November 2023 and i am afraid to look up for how long i have been following rhis show. It is several years 😂 Still the best show i have found out here🎉
Philly convention pro tip: The Reading Terminal Market across the street from the convention center is the best place for food. I imagine it would be Veo's idea of heaven.
These last few episodes have given me a very world of warcraft vibe. The delirium being the equivalent of saronite, and the creature on the throne being equivalent to yogg-saron.
Am I the only one thinking, "Bring the Queen into the castle, the haze will give her strength, the crystals will give her powers, and she can fight her husband in Royal domestic combat." ??
I think Sebastian should be able to "copy" the images seen by Crowley to Rary's Telepathic Bond link, like .... Arma 3 or CoD drone cam footage. The spell says 'communicate' and not 'speak or talk'. Sending a series of images and possibly smells is communication. That would've been cool.
The throne room reminds me of the Formless Flesh from Darkest Dungeon. "The thing is more terrible than I can describe - an incoherent jumble of organ, sinew and bone."
Darkest dungeon is a massive inspiration for us. Also, both Darkest Dungeon and Drakkenheim draw a lot of their core inspiration from the same sources. So I always love when someone mentions Darkest Dungeon, it means we are hitting the right themes.
Okay, so one issue I had is that there is no way all the people gathered would just agree that Caspia should be allowed to just walk in and completely take over and annex the kingdom.

"You've killed so many more people! You've killed a whole courtyard full of paladins and you sleep totally fine with that!" Brilliant, absolute gold.
Classic moment lol. Joe is such a great supporting team member. My favorite is still his unbelievable manicore kill... Epic... "and that's how you Pluto Jackson! “
Monty just laughing while Kelly is speechless trying not to laugh and think of a retort.... awesome!
THIS MAN SPOKE FACTS!
Pluto making the real points
Pluto always brings up humor in the most unexpected way. He is so funny.
The way Monty describes demons is absolutely disgusting and terrifying.
I love it!
2:30:12 I absolutely LOVE the moments when Kelly Jill and Joe bring out Monty's laugh like this 😂
i loved Jupitor Jones in the early Episode but with every episode he is in i love him even more
"Lem is feeble man he would be defeated instantly" xD
Sebastian talking to his dad made me cry. Made me think of my dad who passes in 2008.
Thanks for the comment, sorry to hear about your Dad, I hope the story brings out emotions for the right reasons. I hope you’re enjoying the show!
Yes, it did bring out the emotions for the right reason. You guys do a great job with your role playing and Monty is a great DM! This has been one great ride so far.
Monty's laughter towards the end was one of the best parts of this episode, and I loved it so much.
Nye best part of the campaign.... so far. 😂
Monty dying at the table is the best thing ever
Pluto with that 100 Speech skill to persuade Sebastian at the end of that episode had me crying with laughter.
Also, the Queen of Thieves is my favourite villain - the look on everyone's face when she turned up was brilliant!
The queen of thieves is a great character, my thought is she is empowered by the mystery female sister demon .
Veo: "I really need to eat my feelings right now."
How much I like you all for such moments...
I see a lot of DnD shows online, but you guys are the absolute best!
And after almost 150 hours of watching, I still can't wait for next week.
THANK YOU!!!

Wish I could say 'Hi!' @ PAX in Philly guys, maybe next year.... have a great time!
When Sebastian says to have faith in him, I would respond, "but you are man of magic, not faith."
Love it!
The heart to heart with sebastian and his dad
Legit made me cry
@Dungeon Dudes
Im sorry im kinda prone to tears in touchy moments like this even if its all just roleplay
Im just so into the moment that it is hard for me to remember its all just a game lol
I guess i really do have chuunibyou lol
Man this episode is epic!
Everything about Pluto being persuasive is amazing; it's so, so bad and then bam, three point landing.
The Pluto and Sebastian convo 😂😂😂😂 it was so hard to hold my composure at work

still cant believe there are only 4 episodes left. then i have to start watching shadows of drakkenheim
Hey Guys. I have been watching for months and I finally caught up! I recently started my own campaign and it's largely thanks to you. #Drakkenforce
And now you can hang in the live shows!
Pluto: "If you want to put spells in my ring..."
WE GET IT

Would have been interesting though to see them take on the Sibriex in the throne room with half resources.
Classic episode! I have rewatched this multiple times.. such great everything!
Castle Drakken is so extremely cool. You have a bronze dragon, a beholder and a sibriex in one dungeon. Monty you've out done yourself.
Plus a Goristro I believe in the courtyard, just a guess tho
TGIF
The last episode was amazing to imagine.
You guys should have written GoT Se8
Thank you so much!
I was thinking the same thing! Amazing writing, Monty really knows how to weave a great story. Gifted individual for sure.
I loved the BROMANCE moment at 2:08:00 while Veo was busy launching her career as a food critic.
"Blow it all up"... the ghosts of the paladins all shout... "that's what we said!"
I'm fairly certain Monty literally almost died of laughing

Back from Castle Drakken (of all places), with all these horrors and such, and all Veo can think about is "Where's the kitchen?"...
Montys depiction of a Planar Cancer is awesome. Well done.
That was some beautiful weaving of character arcs, I honestly loved it.
Amazing episode! I've been watching for a year now and I still always look forward to new content. Have fun at PAX
There's just something awesome about Pluto Jackson being the voice of reason 😅
Jill keeps forgetting that she has the "Endless Bowl of Soup" that she got a few episodes ago.
1:10:25 That epic Eye roll from Joe. 🤣
Monty just dying of laughter at the end is so relatable! As a DM myself, I live for these moments.
2:30:10 I lost it at this moment XD Pluto got me teared up for real x)
Legitimately my favorite channel. Wish I could come see you goons at pax but I hope you have fun!
Dear lord people! :D
One step at a time: kill the beholder thing->talk to papa->maybe kill the minotaur thing and control the dragon->kill the thing on the throne, everything after that doesn't need to be connected or a choice; George gets to become the king with a new capital, deal with the ratlings and the paladin army with whatever means is available, once everything is mostly settled afterward Kat opens the path to Mouse, Drakkenforce goes in after Mouse.

Crew extra smiley this episode, love it!
does anybody else think that the stewart wants the badges to strengthen him in the fight against what's on the throne, thereby weakening it for when the players attack it?
Just ordered my own custom character from hero forge!!! Ariesius the elven cleric fighter I can't wait till I can find a dnd group to play with!!!!
The beat while they role initiative sounds like Teardrop by Massive Attack. I love this show on so many levels
I think it's angel massive attack, mezzanine?
Monty cracking up at the end of the session had me rollinnggggg. LOL So good.
I'm at 1:33:33... This is like watching a horrible accident occur in slow motion
The fly swarm reminded me of Wayne Barlowe's book about Hell & his description of Beelzebub. If you've never seen his paintings or read the books, you should check them out, very inspiring.

thats a prok chops on the court yard.
Philly convention pro tip: The Reading Terminal Market across the street from the convention center is the best place for food. I imagine it would be Veo's idea of heaven.
2:13:00
Wait am I crying?
2:29:44 love it! hahahaha
44:43 I'll roll a D3, and on a 5 or 6 it's the one that hit Sebastion.... I see what you did there Monty. Well played.
Heh. A D3 doesn't exist. You roll a D6 and half the results rounded up to get a 1/3 chance.
I was not expecting the betrayal of both Veo and Pluto at the same time.
Man, I wish you guys could put this into a pod cast so I can DL it and listen while I drive to /from work!!
Kat's verbal takedown of the party was SO good.
hahaha i LOVE montys jupiter jones hahahaha absolutely fantastic xD
OMG, Sebastian....suggests using magic against the anti magic creature 🤦♂️😂
Got to see this one on Twitch but I mixed up the start time and tuned in at 9. 😜
One of the best episodes yet!
That first encounter reskinned Hands of Yutrus? My party encountered them once. An explosively good time ensued :)
Ah! Wretches and Dretches, excellent job describing their unique appearance!
Between the encounter and various social scenes, this was a great episode :D Just a little bit more before the campaign end...
Lol Veo gotta eat, Sebastian gotta drink, Pluto gotta stabby stabby.
The plan was wonderful!
I love the Scooby gang gasp right before the break
I want a whole episode of Veo telling us aaaaalllll the things been eaten xD
These last few episodes have given me a very world of warcraft vibe. The delirium being the equivalent of saronite, and the creature on the throne being equivalent to yogg-saron.
I need a shirt that says 'Uh, EXCUSE YOU?!'
Omg, I would probably buy that. It's one of my favourite bits, along with Pluto saying hello in a chipper way while being attacked
Seeing Monty lose it made my whole week!!! :D
Point of order, you can't bisect a creator into the sections, bisecting is dividing into two equal sections 😜
Only geometry requires equal portions, but a bisected portion can then be bisected again 'meaning divide into 2'
Should be lots of fun. Let's get started. Ty ty
Haha 2:30:05
Am I the only one thinking, "Bring the Queen into the castle, the haze will give her strength, the crystals will give her powers, and she can fight her husband in Royal domestic combat." ??
Woo hoo
Been waiting all week!
Finally getting a chance to watch this episode!
Pluto Jackson inspired my Druid, Rollo Holimion, to kill a whole bridge of Giant Spiders! Huzzah to Lord Jackson!
You killed so many more people. You killed a whole courtyard of Paladins. You sleep fine at night. OMG I lost it. TOO Funny!
I think Sebastian should be able to "copy" the images seen by Crowley to Rary's Telepathic Bond link, like .... Arma 3 or CoD drone cam footage. The spell says 'communicate' and not 'speak or talk'. Sending a series of images and possibly smells is communication.

@@DungeonDudes awesome! I got a reply! Lol.
Yeah, a lot of Lovecraftian eldrich horror and whatnot.
It is some good stuff!
I feel like “Wine-Fi” could have been said lol
1:39:08
31:56 Bless you
Unholy cow! (See what I did there?) Monty with his Baphomet voice would be fantastic as a Batman voice actor
Y'all are getting real emotional around here. 😭 It gives real gravity to the situation. Way to go.
26:32 he tents his finger's
King of Drakkenheim: "Help! Kaneda, help me!"
Drakkenforce has an important, high tension, personal discussion
Meanwhile the entire cast cracks up as Monty loses it. This is d&d
If they were using alignments, Sebastian would be Neutral Evil, lol
Easily. Almost border line Chaotic.
Daaaaamn, Sebastian the Pragmatist, coming with the facts!!!
What a great cast
And on top of them believe drakkenhiem is too far gone now. They believe this like 2 episodes after they killed the paladins
“I want to ride you out as a human. I want you to piggy back me”
😊😊😊😊
Pluto. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
Joe broke Monty.
“Wait are you older than me”
“Yeah”
“You are like my little brother”
Haven’t seen anyone else mention this line but it’s so perfect
Who's been feeding Veoh's Pigeons?
There's just 1 large pigeon now.
Okay, so one issue I had is that there is no way all the people gathered would just agree that Caspia should be allowed to just walk in and completely take over and annex the kingdom.
