I made a fursuit, foam base is shitty but the furjob isnt half bad, for the foam base i just hot glued the fur straight on (i used upholstery foam I believe thats what most use). For the tails i sew them to do that i just did a loop so the needle whent through the material then over repeatedly and then i just free for alld the knotting .
Quick note- Although still not the best. But definitively more resistant and sturdy, I recommend the Skull masks from spirit, wolf and raven, mainly.(Altho the strings that make the jaw close are a bit hard. So you'll have to cut one of the sides. I've seen people say it work so..eh) The sides and corners will need to be sanded down due to sharp edges tho(That's what I've seen in the spirit halloween I've been in, so I'm basing the observation was off of that) By the way this vid was great! keep up the great work! :3 New sub! Can't wait to see where your vids lead hehe
Yeah the only thing I’d see someone using these as a real base would be if they’re brand new to the fandom and unaware of the options! I loved seeing your suit come to life, you make do with what you got and that’s the fun of it!

I've made two suits, one skull cat/bat hybrid mini partial, and a head of my demon goat oc. I did enjoy making them, and they turned out really well so i must have a sort of natural knack for it, I might make a third in the future, I already have a design lol. My mental health is extremely poor though, so it will need to improve before I can get into it again. Very interesting video!

Y'know, I've seen people make dino masks into creatures other than dinos before ! There's really no reason it has to be limited to dinos when using them. Also, for the ending question: I have made a fursuit ! Quite a few heads actually. I started with a premade head base, furred it, then eventually sold it for money for foam to make one from scratch ! Sold that one as well and continued making and selling, took quite a lot of base commissions but ended up getting burnt out. Only did about three fully furred heads and one tail :( This was when I was in my early teenage years and it was easy to get stressed out with orders and school and I ended up taking a break that lasted years. Recently got back into the craft though ! Still haven't made a personal suit but I want to eventually. Currently working on a premade partial to sell, using some fur and fabric that I already have since I'm short on money and I should really use what I have anyways. Do also really recommend that everyone try making their own at least once ! There are kits you can find on Etsy that give you all the materials you need and plenty of PDF patterns as well if you wanna use one of those to get started. and if you don't mind me promoting myself a little bit: Favourite my shop on Etsy ! I go by OatMilky ^^ not much on there yet but I have plans to put more fursuit related items up, so keep a look out !

Given you have to refur the mask anyway, might as well get your own base, especially if it's less expensive. Good points here, glad to see how a fursuit maker might handle this sort of effort.
Nice video Ali! honestly i started on a fursuit head back in 2019 with a talking wolf mask and sheesh. i replaced it the year after with a skulldog head base. since than ive been making other fursuits for self learning. recently remake of my Skulldog with a new skull I printed. Turned out great. keep up the videos.
My first head was decent but wasn’t a fan of bucket head method as to balaclava method where as a maker myself I noticed I’ve been improving my skills. despite the rage I get sometimes when something goes wrong well I always keep moving forward to fixing and completing commissions after commissions.

I 100% want to go at it again doing even better than before, I just got to wait till I have somewhere to put a second suit..... I would love to really get into makeing suits to take commissions someday!

Yeah, unfortunately the plastic is really flimsy. But if you already bought it (and if its still intact) you can probably return her. Though if you can't, airbrushing or drybrushing the fur would do fine for customizing it!
I have cat paws I bought at comic con I've been really really tempted to buy brown dye cause the beans are the right colour I just want to try and make the fur darker to match me
ive seen so many ppl buy this mask for the intention to refurb it for a personal suit but i keep telling ppl that theres lots of HQ 3D head bases on Esty! and way cheaper or around the same price plus! you're supporting a small business
Interesting, I'm working on making my first partial right now and am about to begin modeling the head. It's good to know that my plan of 3D printing is still better than these. The design of "Spirit the wolf" is super cute though! Definitely a shame it won't last 😢
I made a fursuit and am wanting to make a few more if my parents will let me, i didnt use a premade base so its not the best in head shape so i do plan on getting a dino mask and cutting it and customizing it to make it into a raccoon fox hybrid
