    Top = Seme = Gong.
    Bottom = Uke = Shou.
    English Japanese Chinese
    Just to add, in Japanese Yaoi manga or Chinese danmei novels you will see these terms used.
    You will see Didi and Gege used a lot in Chinese danmei. And in some Chinese and Taiwanese BLs. Means younger and older bro and it’s always used flirtatiously.
    Yaoi and danmei is mostly written by women and for women. And there are so many unrealistic BLs now lol. So it’s good to get perspective from actual gay couples on what the gay culture is really like.

    In Brazil, we use a variety of terms that are sometimes unrelated. For example, 0 and 1 are often used to describe passivo (passive = bottom) and ativo (active = top). The term Queen Bee is referred to as Barbie. Bear, is urso refers to big, hairy men. An gay after thirty is called a cacura, and an elderly gay man is referred to as Irene. Being an insider means being part of the sindicato (the union) or do vale. The "vale" refers to the Valley of Homosexuals a term affectionately used by the LGBTQ+ community for an imaginary place where everyone would live together, free and happy. This term was initially adopted as satire following a derogatory comment from a pastor.

    American female here. Thank you for this. I’ve always been curious but was too afraid to ask. My brother is gay, and I have been learning about the community for a few years now. I discovered I love BL’s, and now of course kpop lol, but these terms are not really discussed well here for me to understand.

    Being a Fujoshi, this vlog was really informative to me! Honestly, till date I used to watch series and BL interviews and wonder what exactly is 1069, and also when i first heard about animal names being a reference for different category of people in "The Boyfriend" cast's interview in Netflix, I could not understand what's with the animal names for each and why are they themselves laughing at it?!
    Thank you so much to you cuties for enlightening me and making me much more aware! I love your broad and positive mentality and positive outlook towards everything! Wish you throuple's togetherness till eternity and beyond! Love you all 3!🥰💎💎💎♾️💙❤️🧿

    Guys, in western culture, getting back to the animal nicknames, ones like “cub” and “bear” are frequently used to denote not only body build (muscles) but more about how much body hair they have on their torsos.

    ❤❤❤ great info!!! From usa here. I like the phrase you shared ‘ insiders’ to see if someone is in the gay circle. One phrase used back in the day (the 80’s) was “Do you know Dorothy?”, we used that a lot back in the day lol , from Wizard of Oz. We did a handshake too when people started to learn our phrases so no words, but would shake hands and use our middle finger to rub the other persons inner palm of their hand, it was secret handshake back in the day lol!!! Also if someone said ‘I know Dorothy’ that told you they were gay too and if you were okay with gay people but not gay they would say I’m friends with Dorothy, and then by mid 90’s it was more like ‘are you family’ it told people you were gay and ask them if they were gay too. Anyway all
    Old news stuff lol. I
    Like the updated terms you all shared better, you go guys, you all are great people, thanks for sharing!!!

    Greetings from Singapore. Really love your channel and the great love the three of you have for each other. Being able to form a stable throuple is a testament to your capacity for love and respect for each other. Wishing you guys many many years of happiness together.
    Some terms that may not be common or even known in Taiwan:
    PLU = people like us. An identity shared by the homosexual community.
    AJ = gay. Pig latin for gay where the last 2 characters are transposed to the front as "aygay" and then the "g" is pronounced softer so that is sounds like "j"
    Lebanese = lesbian. It's also mentioned in Lady Gaga's "Born this way" song.
    302 = Army categorization for homosexual men, who openly declare themselves in the army
    Ah Gua = Hokkien for gay
    Pondan = Malay for gay
    小白兔 = little white rabbit, cute term for cute gay
    Twink = slim smooth body gay
    Bear = big hairy gay
    Chub = big fat gay (we don't use the term "pig")
    Chub chaser = someone who likes chubs.
    There are a lot more terms in other languages commonly spoken in Singapore, it's a multi-cultural society.

    Wow, just loved this video. I am a old gay guy in the USA that never got to experience the freedom of living a gay friendly life. I am so jealous, was just born at the wrong time I guess. You guys have a wonderful relationship and be so happy that you live in a country so accepting of your lifestyle. I laughed so much at the term "shrimp"..reminded me of the old days when having sex with someone unattractive to put a bag over their head...lol. Enjoyed all the precious moments you have together, so many of us never experienced it. Love ya...

    Hey 👋🏽 guys great vlog on describing terminology in the LGBTQ community. There was some interesting discussion about different terminology used, for instance 1069 which we all know what 69 is but the 10 was puzzling. A lot of terms are different in different cultures and languages, as you read the comments you’ll see most of them. One term used and not mentioned is chicken hawk which means an older person who likes younger ones. I’m of belief that categorizing folks is a form of bias and demeaning ideology that came from one is better than another. It’s ingrained into our society as eating and sleeping, it doesn’t mean we should be extra conscious of it it just makes it more difficult to treat people for whom they really are based on their personality traits. It just like identifying with EFTP or something else and not being able to see that real person in front of you. Anyway thanks again for the tutorial and take care 🫰🏼🙋‍♂️🏳️‍🌈

    Thank you so much for this interesting video. You see, I am striving to better understand several of my grandchildren. We communicate very openly, we get along very well. However, I have noticed in our conversations, the reality exists that they do speak to me as an "outsider". They are extremely sweet, but I sense, guarded and careful. Either they are striving to protect me or themselves ... I suppose, as I am elderly, they might feel awkward or shy, so, no matter what, I won't be intrusive and or push myself upon them. They are in charge so I just sit back and give them all the room they need. Anyway, thank you for these insider terms today.❤❤❤

    I don’t think I heard every label people use to describe body types in US, but I know it exists.
    One that is heard most often is “gym bunny”. These are people who spend too much time in the gym because they always think their body can’t get perfect enough. White gays in New York and Los Angeles both have these names. It’s mostly a race thing and people tend to socialize in pacts.
    Jeremy lived here, so he probably knows how race plays in groups among gay and straight communities. I happen to find it very sad. To me, it’s something I hate because people use that to fuel hate and division.
    Not everyone is that way of course. It’s easy to make friends with any person in any race. But there’s that small faction that tends to use it only to cause problems and should be avoided. This melting pot of every race in the world is sometimes tricky to navigate.
    But not so difficult that it’s so tense that you can’t become friends with anyone. It’s the greater population, 9/10th, everyone finds to be somewhat very educational. Getting to know people from other places is fun. But gays tend to socialize mostly in their pacts. I refuse to limit myself this way.
    I don’t like the separation, and many like me, that pacts tend to do. I have no limits and want to socialize with anyone who will befriend me. Regardless of our differences. I will never cut myself off from the world.

    • @thrupledaily
      @thrupledaily  Місяць тому

      So true! We can’t limit ourselves and only interact with the people that have the same “label” with us. That would be so shortsighted and it’s not smart to give up the big world for a small place.
      (Jeremy

    As an elderly great grandma, I found this very informative. I didn't even know about the animal classications/meaning. I do want to learn more about the gay community. I am already accepting but I am constantly trying to learn more about a lot of subjects. One thing that saddened me though. There is so much labeling and judgement going on between one and another. And in a way, labeling these individuals/body types this way is sad. And especially since so many both in the community and outside it understand what these labels mean. I will not live long enough for the day we accept each individual on their character and merits. Other things, like music or food preference, or siding with a particular polital party etc. (things we like, prefer, individual choice.) don't really come into those two categories. But their character and merits as a unique individual human being do. Being good or bad or wherever in between. These are ACTIONS that stem from our core beliefs. We have actions (good or bad) depending on our character, our core values. You don't judge a fish because it cannot climb a tree. Judge each person individually just as you are an individual.

      Thank you for such a great explanation of how we treat people, especially those who are in minority communities. I tend to think that putting a person in a category is biased towards them. The act of doing that is exploiting abusive behavior and making people uncomfortable and regretful.

    • @thrupledaily
      @thrupledaily  Місяць тому +2

      Totally agree with you, thanks for sharing. I think it’s really hard for a human to reach nondiscrimination. Too many people are cynical and judgmental. What we can do is embrace our labels, be proud of it, or just ignore it. The criticism can be a lot to take, but if we are strong enough, I believe it doesn’t mean anything at all.

    "坦白说,我在我们国家并不知道有使用这样的动物名称。因为这些词语被明确地用于异性恋者身上。但是,我第一次在这里了解到它们也用于同性恋者身上。69这个数字确实被认为是一个美学上的数字。换句话说,它可以用于异性恋和同性恋者之间。然而,像台湾这样的国家在某些方面比许多其他国家更先进。因为人们的理解和视角比其他国家更为开放和前卫。因此,您的国家是否位于这个使用圈内?或者您是否认为同性恋者绝不会使用这种词语?在中亚国家,这些词语不会被使用,只有在接触时才能明白。这给同性恋者带来了不自信和不稳定的感觉,因为社会的压力太大。感谢您的理解。"❤😊
    抱歉,我不会说台语,我用翻译工具翻译了我说的话。如果我有错,请见谅。非常感谢!😢😊

      你在哪個國家呢?在臺灣的異性戀好像反而比較少用動物形容彼此身形(Jeremy

      @@thrupledaily "我的國家是中亞國家,但對同性戀者非常不友好。相反,甚至會把他們關進監獄。因此,我們在這方面面臨很大困難,永遠無法公開我們的真實身份。只有在接觸時,我們才能知道誰是同性戀,誰不是。不過,我即將前往中國接受醫學培訓,希望未來能遇到像你這樣的好人。祝你未來生活中好運連連,長命百歲。感謝你與我交談。"

    What a great concept! I didn’t realize terms around the world could be different. We use twink for very young skinny gays and twunk for a muscular twink. A cub is a younger version of a bear. A pig can’t get enough, like c*m pig, for example. We too use top, bottom, verse, side and 69. Thanks for this video ❤❤❤

    En France aussi on utilise les noms des animaux pour décrire le physique d une personne mais ce n est pas réservé qu aux gays …..une femme peut être qualifiée de crevette : tu tires la tête tu gardes le corps. Ou alors c est utilisé pour dire que c est un tout petit gabarit
    Tante ou tata sont aussi utilisés pour les homosexuels plus âgés et plus féminisés
    69 est aussi un nombre très erotique ….
    Continuez vos contenus toujours tres amusant et intéressant ❤❤❤❤❤
