I called a venue last week , it’s going to be my first ever show at a club in Memphis Tennessee. I literally called, said hey I wanna perform what’s the cost how much do I pay. They turned the question around on me saying how much do you wanna be paid. I was flabbergasted after that. So now march 29th I have my first ever show and it’s paid for

Great question. Usually it's to send them exclusive music, invites, or promo. But you can get as crazy as you like. For example, you can do raffles to anyone that signs up, out a giveaway, or a chance to join your personal community where they can speak with you directly. You can even give free gifts. As you can tell by now, it can be for any reason. It really just depends on your creativity.
