The fact that the bass response of the guitar immediately started to distort the preamp tells you something about the volume this thing has. I totally agree with the neck/headstock long diamond tenon. Not really functional, but looks so good!
Another difference is the HD has "diamonds and squares" fret markers while the D has the "dots".... Im still wondering if there are more differences too.. I think now they could just go away with the D28 specs and called the HD28 a D28 and just have the one,.. like in the Golden Era.
Great revirlew! Just subscribed!

Great job going over the guitar, but the audio quality didn't do it justice. Please re-record with a better mic/audio set up.
Empire, I've purchased a guitar from you guys and this is the next one I want. Please send it to me now!!
Joe, is the only difference now in the D28 and HD28 the herringbone?

The guitars are constructed in an identical fashion. The only differences are cosmetic. Thanks!

Do you ship to the uk 🇬🇧?
This is a guitar I would consider if I didn't already have a Martin Custom Shop HD-28e VTS 12-fret with GE Adirondack bracing.
Seems pretty stupid to pay for the HD28 just for herringbone now
