A great favourite on the acoustic which seemed impossibly complicated when I first started playing . I can do the guitar piece now but the singing in tune still eludes me :-) . You've made a dull day much more interesting Mark. Excellent.
Yes Travis picking can be tricky when you first take it on. Landslide by Fleetwood Mac is my go to song when I'm teaching someone...it's probably the easiest to master. Thanks for watching John, I hope I haven't lost subs through acoustic overload lol
I found a long time ago Mark that to be a good electric guitar player it pays to be a good acoustic player first. What it teaches you about timing and technique is invaluable in getting the best out of an electric.
I certainly think it helps with technique. And I agree with the timing thing...especially learning finger-picking where you're playing bass and melody together.
A song still relevant (sadly) in today's austerity Brexit Britain....could be Streets of Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester.....anywhere there are food banks (they didn't have those bank when Ralph recorded "streets") and homeless of course. Great playing and singing :-)
Great stuff
