I bought this pack as soon as it was released. As a matter of fact I was on the preorder list. It has been good to me but there has been a few minor annoyances. I tried your diagonal compression strap idea and it is a game changer. For me it significantly changes the function and appearance of the bag for the better. Thanks a bunch.
Best produced review of this bag, I reckon. It's my favorite as well. The bit about the side straps is a neat idea and it's great to finally know that someone else uses the bottom straps. That would be my most used feature as I carry a lot of extra gear like tripods, camera stands for work and fighting/training equipment. Also good for range mats. I have another organizer in the ccw compartment to stash my edc (or sensitive items) for when I enter an area with bag checks... not sure I'd advise anyone to do that, but I like to be prepared wherever I am. Edit: this could be something that's useful to you. On the front of the bag on the 2 schock cord loops below the velcro area I've attached a compression with duraflex mojave buckles. It serves two functions: as a front grab handle and as a means to more securely strap down whatever you have on the front.
Hell yeah man thanks for the kind words! I really like that idea and that's what I love about this bag. There are so many extra fabric loops and so many ways to jury-rig things to fit your needs. I'm glad someone else out there shares my sentiment!
I've been using the Evade 1.5 full for 4 years. I would try your crossbody compression straps idea ! I have completed my volume ladder adding the Goruck 21L and the BOGear spare camel 2.0 but the Evade is the best. I wish AON would release a version that removed the concealed compartment on the back panel and increased the depth of the main compartment, but other than that it's perfect for me.
@reviewsofequipment 😂😂This one shts on the new one. Now I see why people are so mad😂😂😂😂. I was thinking about buying the raven 28 but I'm contemplating this one now😮
This bag is extremely good. I have the carryology edition. I have had been using it for a little over a year now. The only little downside would be the weight of the bag.
Love the aesthetic of that version, its so sleek and simple. I agree about the weight at first, but since I'm not carrying it around empty, I don't even think about it at all

I’m thinking of picking up this bag for myself. I’m curious, how well does the bag handle rucking? I tend to go out with a 30 lb plate a few times a week
I have never used it to ruck since I have dedicated metal frame ruck, but I bet it could handle 30ish lbs (sometimes when I travel it weighs that much). It does not come with a load bearing waist strap though

Agreed, it is definitely not perfect but I have loved using it. Glad you found the video helpful

Love the content, can we get a vid on your edc 19??
Thanks brother! Yep already in the works!
Great video! What camera gear do you film with?
Believe it or not, just using my phone for now until I can upgrade to a legit setup later
