A lesson that is kind of useless. Because we all know. But because it does only take a second, you can never fully prevent it. You simply cannot watch your child every second of every day. That's impossible. You can be vigilant and preventative, but never be 100%.
@plumdutchess When it came to water and my kids, my eyes were glued to my kids! If I had to step away for any reason, they came with me! This is a tragedy that could have and should have been prevented. Nonetheless my heart breaks for the family.
@@plumdutchess. If she needed to check on the baby, she should have taken the 3 year old with her. Leaving a 3-year-old by a running creek. For any amount of time, even a second, is negligence.
This child is not out of a coma. Per the mothers post: "Just to clarify, Levi waking up doesn't mean he's fully coherent or talking or anything like that. Just that he opened his eyes for a period of time, wiggled with purpose and less like just a reflex as before. We still have a very long and tremendous road ahead of us, full of unknowns." There has been a MRI done since then and here is her post. Per the mother: " The MRI wasn't good, we're shattered but it is just images that suggest a certain quality of life. Our real teller of all will be what Levi does over the course of a few days. Please continue to pray! I'm not giving up on my baby just yet. I'm working on getting any and all neurologists or other educated professionals with expertise in this area who are willing to view his MRI. Then just seeing what my strong boys does in the next few days." Praying for Levi
Sadly, he is out of a coma... how much more he improves and responds to his surroundings time will say. The MRI doesn't look good. Probably some brain damage. But that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he is out of coma.
@@leanneadams2549 Sadly, they announced yesterday all that could be done has been done and they turned off all life saving support. He passed soon after.
Wow ! I can’t say enough good about first responders!!! It’s great when stories like this end with mostly a huge scare and recovery time. But how are the First Responders when they cannot save a small child ??? I think people unintentionally forget about them when that kind of tragedy happens and like people to remember them then or at least try to !!💯❤️🙏
Sadly, another news feed says Levi will be taken off of life support. He went downhill after a brief improvement. His mom referred to it as Levi's last sleep. 😢
Children can overcome! God can work easier in children. They don't fight it, like adults do. Children are more trusting & willing. Prayers for Levi & family 🙏❤️🙏
The lack of adult supervision is the direct cause of this child's nearly drowning and continuing suffering. Do not "sugar-coat" the actual facts: this very young child was allowed to use a motorized toy, he went into the water, and that's that. The blame lies clearly upon the enabling and inattentive adults .
@@jojozep7820Is not judging others, is called awarness. So other patents don't do the same mistake. It happened to me , a long time ago, when my twins were toddlers. I do appreciate when people reminds us that it only takes a second for an accident to happen.
Coming out of a coma is not always happy medical progress. This child's suffering and condition is the result of inattention and negligence on the part of adult(s).
It's time for healing, not blaming, so it's not necessary to point out the obvious. If you think they don't feel guilty and horrible, then this is your heart 🖤🖤
@@DonnaHall-o2f Read what I wrote. I did not comment on whether I think the adults feel guilty and horrible. I will now point out the obvious point #2: yes, the adults would feel guilty, remorseful, and sad. So you can take your judgement about my heart being "black" and retract it. My comment was not "blaming" at all; it was referring to why this incident happened in the first place. It is the truth.
@@DonnaHall-o2fNo ma'am, it is time to face our mistakes, we, parents are not perfect, but if somebody calls our attention, it is to make other parents aware of the danger of leaving your children unattended, even for a second, which I am sure his mother didn't do it on purpose. It happened to me a long time ago, thank God my twins are ok now. People like you, now days don't want to hear ,much less accept, when they are being judged. Well, we learned our lesson, and we should thank God and appreciate the good and judgemental comments.
@@kathleenardrey5094I totally agree and understood your comment. And I also believe Levi's mom didn't do it on purpose. But yes, it only takes a minute of distraction, for tragedy to happen. ❤ from Texas!
@@UPDT8243 I totally agree with you! I'm just saying it's time to be grateful. They have the rest of their life to feel guilty! Even if he completely recovers (strong possibility) they're going to feel that forever. I know I still feel guilty for losing my 3 year old son on my mother's wedding day. I feel it deep in my gut, even though as it turned out, my husband took him to the store without letting me know. He pulled up to a house full of police officers and me in a puddle of hysteria.
The often wonderful thing about the very young having a tragic injury like this is that they have the most potential for full or partial recovery. If let’s say you were 30+ yrs old this injury would likely be devastating or just cause death. Children in particular have a brain that is growing and developing. There’s still opportunity for the brain to compensate for some or most damage. There have been cases where a child had a stroke (CVA Cerebral Vascular Accident) and the opposite side of the brain was able to compensate some for what the damaged area would be in charge of. Children submerged in water during drowning are more likely to recover even after longer periods of time that an adult would. Meaning that in just minutes an adult would be brain but a child can go longer and still be revived to normal or near pre-drowning state. That’s why in the ED (emergency department) we will work on drowning victims a lot longer because they’re are children or teens. Off the top of my head IDK at what age that changes. It’s up to the doctor and the code team to determine. I’m really hoping this becomes one of those “miracles” that people talk about.
Wow how gorgeous does thay green dress look on you!! So grateful the lilttle man made it thanks to a quick response. Moms worst nightmare right there. Thank you Jesus for saving him x
