  • Hello, friends!
    In this video, I’m going to share my thought process and planning activity that I use to decide what to track in my health and wellness planner (tracker?) Hobonichi Weeks. Practicing regular self-care and caring for my overall health is a priority for 2024, so I wanted to spend extra time reflecting on what I can learn from my past attempts at habit tracking to set myself up for success in 2024.
    This is another chatty one, so grab your favourite notebook, planner, and beverage of choice and join me for a cozy planning session. I’ve also included timestamps below, so you can skip around the video to different sections that interest you.
    What are your thoughts on health and wellness journals and/or trackers? What has worked well for you in the past? What will you be changing in 2024? I’d love to hear about it in the comments below!

    This was a real gem to watch. I really don’t mind the length of the video and loved watching the thought process. Flip throughs will definitely be appreciated ❤

      so happy to hear that you didn't mind my rambles. I will definitely film some flipthroughs in the new year! I'm curious to see how well (or less well) my plans turn out!

    I know this was 6 months ago but if you haven’t thought about it you could in your monthly section do a key and use dot system and in your weekly you can save a little time by printing or buying water and other simple trackers that would take second to put down and let you have more time reflecting. I have a B6 academic planner for my medical planner…I also help with my mom’s medical. So I need a little more room but I do like the hobo weeks.

      Thank you so much - these are wonderful suggestions! I like the idea of using my monthly section better and saving time with my weekly trackers! I’ve gotten into a nice routine of writing my habits out each week - it’s like a reminder to commit to them - but it is repetitive and not the most efficient! 😅

    Watched until the end while I was taking my own notes. You gave me a lot of ideas on what to track in my wellness. I'll use one weeks that I currently have as normal everyday stuff. Then the new weeks I'll track and plan out similar things you have on your pages. I have a separate prayerful planner that I use for my daily devotional/gratitude stuff. FYI I also have a hard time trying to get into a meditating on a reg basis. hehe thanks!

      I'm so glad to hear this was helpful for you! Your setup sounds fantastic… and I’m glad to hear that I'm not alone on getting into a routine for meditating. A good friend of mine suggested that I may be trying too hard to do it perfectly (like feeling as though I should be thinking about nothing 😜). So, maybe sitting still with my eyes closed for 5-10 minutes even if my mind is still whirring is a good enough starting point for me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I got a weeks mega for my personal life on an impulse. This video was so helpful! I was contemplating going back to a Hobonichi Techo since I already had a flow with it...even though it was a flow that didn't 100% work. 😅

      Thanks for taking the time to comment! I'm so glad that you've found this helpful. Great choice on the weeks mega!!! I hope you find a better flow using it compared to your experience with the Techno. I was tempted to try a weeks mega this year as a replacement for my TN insert that I'm using as a rolling daily log, but I changed my mind last minute. Maybe 2025!!!! :D

    I love this idea. I've set up all the productive for next year but i haven't really decided on my health journal besides tracking my symptoms ( chronic illness stuff). I'll take these next week to think about it.

      Thank you for taking the time to comment! I’m so glad you found it helpful. I had too many possibilities swimming in my brain, and whenever that happens (which is often 😅), I find this approach helps to calm me down and wade through the clutter to prioritize. Hope your brainstorming goes well next week. ☺️

    Excellent video. Thank you so much for the insights. I have been tracking my health and wellness in a Weeks also for the last few months. You helped me realize how I can adjust how and what I have been tracking and in setting up my new N2 Sterling Ink planner for the new year.

    I really enjoyed this video. I am also keeping a Weeks for health and wellness. I'm using the index page for weight and measurement tracking, monthlies for workouts, weeklies for meal planning (I meal plan and prep once a week), I'm still figuring out what I'm going to do with the notes pages, but I think I'm going to set up some for tracking sleep, mood, and some other things. I'm totally flexible with those.

      Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! Your Weeks set up sounds great! Which Weeks cover did you end up choosing for 2024? 😍 I like how you’ve combined meal planning into health and wellness to keep things simple! I could see myself doing that one day after I feel really confident that I can meal plan without major distractions 😅

      @@LittleCocoStudio I went with the Bow and Tie Tiny Dragons this year since I was born in the year of the dragon. I absolutely love it. That’s why I have the meal planning on the one page so there’s nothing to distract me. LOL My ADD gets in the way even when I put up the best of roadblocks for it. This way seems to be working for the last couple of years though so I must be doing something right.

    I struggle with the same issue with daily tracking, love the way you figured out retro tracking. I have discovered that sometimes a single sticker or sketch ona page sometimes motivates journaling

      Thank you for your kind words! I feel like this approach takes off so much pressure, but I still get to have a historical record of the things I want to track at the end of the year. That’s a great point about adding in a bit of decoration to motivate journaling! ✨

    I never thought of tracking my activities in my whole life but it is actually very focused and beneficial. How come I never thought of it? Oh I did track my weight management during the last year but quit very quickly. Thanks for the insight! Wish you a most successful year ahead.❤

      I struggle with consistency as well! I hope this year will be better, but I don’t have the greatest track record. The main thing for me is to be kind to myself and celebrate what I manage to do, and not punish myself for what I don’t.

    I have the panda pencil board and love it! I missed out on the Panda weeks but chose the dragon as they also remind me of sea horses - and I live near the coast (strange but when I initially saw them I thought “sea horses)

      You made a great choice! The baby dragon / seahorses cover is so cute and it sounds fitting since you live near the coast! 😍 I was very tempted by the panda pencil board as well, but held off because I had already the Weeks and A6 covers in my cart. Everything was so cute this year 🥹

    not sure if you've thought of this option, but most (relatively) inexpensive fitness trackers also track your sleep and connect with an app on your phone to keep a record. you wouldn't have to log your sleep every day if you went with something like that. for myself, i can't sleep with a watch on so i don't track my sleep.

    • @LittleCocoStudio
      @LittleCocoStudio  7 місяців тому +1

      Ahh, that's a good point! My husband sleeps with his watch on most nights, and I like that it provides a more accurate estimate of his sleep. However, I also can't sleep with a watch on. After looking at my phone's sleep estimates, I can see they're pretty inaccurate since I'm not necessarily putting down my phone right when I sleep and picking it up first thing when I wake up. So, maybe I'll consider other fitness tracker options, or maybe I'll have to go with my phone's estimates, knowing that the most I'll get are trends rather than specific data. 🤔

    • @Terrible_Hime
      @Terrible_Hime 7 місяців тому

      @@LittleCocoStudio trends are better than nothing since sleeping is one of your priorities and you wouldn't want to do something that makes your sleep worse
