i'm honestly shocked you can only really reach 75 on that 600cc, i'm getting 65 mph on my 125cc yamaha ybr custom (uk laws kinda suck for getting a bike)
yeah my 600 is bone stock besides bigger jets in the carb and free flowing exhaust and i can hit 100mph NO PROBLEM (with big hard saddlebags on it making it less aerodynamic) and could hit 98 ish almost 100 before the exhaust and tune up. could have a lot to do with weight as i'm only 140 lbs... but my 60mph-90 mph pull is quick and have never had a problem passing or cruising at 65-70 on the interstate
On my shadow 600 which has a stock intake and exhaust (41t rear sprocket) I can easily do 80-85 all day. I’ve ridden it across multiple state lines on more than one occasion at 80mph average. I weigh 180 but I’ve done two up trips as well. I think it’s the feeling that some people don’t like being at high rpm’s. In fact I actually have a 750 and 1000cc and I got the 600 after and I love it. Never had a problem passing cars up but everyone is different and I’ve heard other people say their vt600 can’t go past 65-70 as well. As far as a rigid, while my bike is also chopped, I went with a swingarm chopper style. I think that makes a huge difference. That being said, sportsters are really cool bikes and you’ll have a ton of fun with it. They’re much easier to work on since there’s so many parts already available for them. And you don’t have to custom fabricate as much as on a shadow. In either case I wish you well with your channel and stay safe.
Damn, a shock to see the shadow go as soon as I found you through LNSPLT. But as a sportster guy, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with it
Never seen a 600 that couldn't do triple digits. My current 230cc bike does 65. My 250 rebel could do 80 on flat ground. Royal Enfield catches hell for their 20 horsepower 350s electronically shutting off at 72 in both 4th an 5th. A 600 not doing much better than that has problems.
excited to see you put your spin on this clean HD!!
You and me both!
I have a Honda shadow and had an 03 sportster that I bought to resell. Definitely big difference when it comes to power.
Totally
Awesome! Congrats on the new bike, a new journey begins 🙏
Thanks 🙏🏽
I’ve owned 3 sportsters and a vlx. I love my vlx but miss my sporty.
We’ll see how I feel in a year haha

My Yamaha is 300 and can rip 110 no problem but yeah the shadow was slow

yeah it was a hard decision because i loved the shadow but im also excited to start fresh and learn more about this platform
Sweet bike dude! I can't wait to see what you do with the sportster!
thanks yo!

the engine didnt have any issues i could of possibly pushed it further but never tried cuz it was struggling so bad
Are those bags on backwards? Wouldn’t the slanted corner match the slant of the shocks?
ya know im not sure thats how it was installed on the bike and never looked into it haha maybe i should now that you point it out
Good idea. Get something that has some balls
plenty of power now!
now that you've had this Sporty for a min. Jockey Shift or Regular? Which do you proffer?
since I ride 2 up a lot definitely regular but if it was a single rider and no long trips then def jockey its way more fun
