Need your opinion. I started playing with a different raquet that has improved every aspect of my game except for my serve. My serve is now I'd say 30% less effective, but everything else has become more reliable, crisper, I love the feel in the rest of my game. Should I stick it out with the new raquet?
I do that a lot I’ve noticed naturally, I go to it for some reason, the cross court, and not in front of me. I’m learning now to do that because when i do they just crush it into they open court. Why though is the instinct to go cross in that situation?
You said that the number one approach shot you can hit in single is a cross court to the opponent backhand....and I could believe you, however whenever I see a pro doing that, the opponent ends up winning the point with a passing shot down the line....in fact I see most of the time the approach shot to be down the line instead....
I feel like Rob got in trouble on the second return, the short slice, a great shot in form certainly and placement, but not a great place for him as he was running off court the other way. Would be better to hit it either deeper cross to give him time to recover or in front of him, no?
slice as a passing shot? - not the best idea (you may volley it) .. and drop shot is also a risky shot.. it must be perfect (which isn't easy) .. otherwise your opponent (especially a fast one) may catch it and hit right at your body..

Amazing point and analysis, thanks!
Great tip thanks
Why approach shot is better hitting cross court and not to the same side in front of him?
