So after you added the 16 sts to connect the ear flap and did a couple more rows to make the back. Then you transfer to circular needles, do you add more sts to make the front?
Hello Jenny, I'm looking forward to making this hat. I do have a question. I want to check my gauge and there is info missing on this pattern. It says 18 sts equal 4 inches. Usually it would say 18 sts and ? rows would equal 4 inches. How many rows equals 4 inches? Please advise. I can't make this hat until I know I have the correct gauge.
The pattern doesn't mention row gauge because the main portion is measures in inches not by row count. When you make your gauge swatch knit around 4 inches and check your stitch gauge to make is you are at 18 sts. You will base the rest off of measuring your hat. Because this is such a small project and might take the same amount of time to knit the hat I checked my gauge on the hat instead of making a separate swatch. I hope this helps you work this pattern.
Thank you so much, I’m doing a cable ear flap hat and connecting it is now easier for all my hats. My granddaughter gonna luv it…
I'm excited this helped you! Your Granddaughter is gonna love it!
Dental floss works well for tying the pom-pom strands together.
That is a great idea!

Yes, you will then consult the pattern to add additional stitches for the size you are making.
Where can I get the pattern? Love this
We have the printed pattern available in the kit. Here is the link onebighappy.com/products/kps-baby-hat-mittens-booties-knit-kit

Can get the pattern only?
We only have the pattern available in the kit.
I would like to buy the pattern and use yarn from my stash. Can you make that possible? Thanks.
Hi Becky, unfortunately the pattern is only available with the kit at this time.
What age is this for? I need to make one for a newborn and another for 12-18 months. How do i alter the pattern?
The pattern comes in 3 sizes. It gives specific numbers for each size.
