- Reviewing Ortur Laser Master 3 10 Watt Laser Fact Or Cap. My Canvas image was scaled using Gimp before it was ran thru Da Big Gimping Plug In Dpi was set to 304 in Gimp .The image was then loaded into Light burn . My settings in light burn was 20000 mm Speed and 100% power With Passthrough Engaged. The Canvas was prepared with 1 heavy coats of Rust oleum Gloss White Paint and Topped with A Coat Gloss Black Rust oleum . . The burn took 1 hour 6 Beautiful Minutes.

I am a total newbie, my Ortour Laser Master 3 arrives on Friday. I have spent hours and hours on all the UA-cam videos I can find but I seem to be missing the reasoning behind downloading a photo, putting a photo into gimp and then into Lightburn. And then there is the software that comes with the laser, I don’t know where that fits in the process. I think I need a summary of what each process does that is different than what the other ones do. It seems to me that the process should be as simple as choosing a photo, importing it into the laser software, setting power and speed and size and push play. I am afraid of opening up the wonderful package on Friday, hopefully able to assemble it with the help of UA-cam and then sitting in bewilderment wondering what to do next. I am 70 years old and don’t learn new software as easily as I once did. Is there a “Laser Engraving For Dummies” book I can get?

If you think about it, this was the perfect picture to see what the laser can do.

No only problem I had is that it doesn't frame sometimes 🤔
