totally understandable that you don't know what to do. that's so disheartening T_T i don't blame you at all for not wanting to redo everything over again, but if you did decide to go into creative and do everything up until day 370, i wouldn't be mad about it. i completely understand

If you do end up going for a 500 days despite the setback, I'd personally love to see how you tackle adding more floors to the raft! I think it would be interesting to see the concept!
Skyes, once again such a great video. Honestly I doubt if anyone in the community would mind you going back in creative and redoing all your progress. The sugarcane farm build was amazing and we all love your designs and fun building ideas. Side note, would love if you decorated your boat pathway under the villager trading platform. Also, idk if anyone feels this way, but I think it would be better if you kept expanding out and not up. As opposed to the sky-base worlds, this Raft world seems great for going out in all directions, not as much up because you can't go down. Don't lose heart bro, I still smile very time you upload regardless of the video!
I would vibe with a Spawner/Spawn Egg crafting mod!

The absolute heart ache and defeat in that ending scene was hard to watch. I wanted to cry with you cause I have done that so many times. I wish I could tell you how to fix it but I never figured that out sooo..... yyyeeeaaahhhh..... But Anyhoo. It was an awesome video and I really do hope we get to see more of this series. Ans Squids did a good job keeping us in suspense as well. Keep up the great content. It is loved as always.

Anytime skyes posts a new video of this raft series it brightens my day.
Quick tip for lag, placing composters on top of hoppers makes them stop looking for items constantly (that can cause lag with a lot of hoppers) and when hoppers are going in a line straight down alternate with a single chest and a hopper it saves iron and reduces lag. Also, using barrels instead of chests can decrease lag.

Oh dear... It's indeed very dishardening and extremely demotivating losing that much progress. I know the feeling of utter defeat after losing everything you've worked so long and hard for. I'm a hobby writer, and I wrote an entire book, hundreds of pages of text and who knows how many hours. Only to lose all the files, when I lost the flash drive it was saved on. The feeling of utter defeat was crushing. To this day I have never been able to recover or return to rewrite what I lost that day. It's been fourteen years.

skyes ive been here since the hardcore series and the lore 100 days and i wanted to say ive never gotten tired of watching ur videos. i had to put down my cat yesterday and its by far the worst thing ive had to deal with but ur videos have been such a huge comfort to me 🙏 please keep doing what u do i appreciate u so much (and whatever that is, if its dropping this world and doing something else or taking more time for ur second channel etc i will watch every second of it)
The ending was heartbreaking. Like hits home, feel the pain with you heartbreaking. You’ve inspired me to make daily paranoia backups. My vote is use creative to get back to where you were, you already put the work in. Loved the video, keep on keepin on
Animal Crops is a good mod for being able to spawn in your own mobs (both hostile, neutral, and passive) without it being broken. It would require you to figure out how to get grass though...

I am torn about multiple layers in the base. I like it in general, but it contrasts the "raft" theme. Right now it feels like a lot of connected rafts coming together to create a paradise community. There is probably a balance there.
I also feel like a backpack mod would be helpful for mining speed. The series isn't about mining so who really cares if 1 trip or 5 trips. Plus your comment about possibly no end possible, this would be a good substitute. Also, if you don't harvest the ores in the mines (use silk touch on the ores in the mines and then break them at base), you can save a little more space (1 stack of redstone ores versus 4.5 stacks of redstone dust)
It would be cool to see you build up. But if you do I think you should make it so everything is structurally supported to the floor below it and not just floating platforms above it.
Adding a spawner mod would be a good idea 👍
Just make sure they are expensive to craft

I wouldn't mind if you went into creative mode and recovered things that way... It wouldn't defeat the purpose of the world because technically you didn't die! You'll just be a magical sentient being for a little bit then you'll come back and pick up from there! We would all love to see it, excited for episode 5!!! :)

30:02 I think that was a Bobbit Worm. Why wasn't it buried in the sand? That's where they usually hide...and yes, they are ambush predators, and those wide bits sticking out in the front? Those are its jaws, which slam shut on unsuspecting fish like a beartrap.
1:02:06 Snowflake Moray Eel; very cool to see that in this modpack. They're very popular in tropical saltwater aquariums not only for their beauty, but their (relatively) calm and relaxed temperament. Most morays are fighty-bitey jerks; healthy and happy Snowflake Morays really only get snippy during feeding (never try to hand-feed; they will nip). Mostly because they have horrible eyesight, tho~

I think that at 1:18:56, to solidify the "Industrial" look of the sugarcane farm, you should've added campfires to "look" like the machine is producing smoke. That's just an aesthetic thing though good video like always lol.

Hey if your getting this, theres one trick you can do to get what you lost back.
If you know about System Restore, you could possably get what you lost back if you go back in time just before you deleated your files.
If you do this, make sure you find your files and drop them on a flashdrive and then System Restore back to present time.

I don't usually like watching Minecraft. But this channel is totally different, love that you talk so much and explain what you do! Keep doing what you're doing! You are the best!
2:55 - I take long breaks between playing Minecraft and often forget what I was doing. So what I started doing was keeping a book and quill in my ender chest and at the end of that play session, I’d write a quick note about what I was doing last and what my next plans were. I’d log off with the book in my inventory, read it next time I log in and put it back in my ender chest to free up space until I was done that day - rinse and repeat. The book and quill is good for keeping a to-do list in game too! Just make sure to NOT sign the book, or you won’t be able to edit it!
Crafting your own spawners is absolutely a thing on forge. In fact, there are several different ones!
Also, if you change your leaf quality settings it will greatly impact your lag from the shaders without having to turn them down as much. The leaves are actually causing the majority of the issues with the shaders. Found that out while playing Twilight Forest

I prefer the tight, cozy feel of the raft. Keeping everything flat kinda shows your progress more imo. Like your presence is expanding in the ocean and you're building your own civilization.

I am so sorry to hear about what happened with the world as well, it's such a shame that they don't have backup folders in case you delete a world accidentally ;^;
There is a mod called Apotheosis, which allows you to craft spawners as well as silk touch normal spawners as well. You'd probably need to research more into it but I think that mod is the best way if you proceed with the witch spawner thing ^-^
Another tweak I think would work well for you building wise are the 'Vanilla Tweaks' Crafting Tweaks and Datapacks. You can d things like convert slabs and stairs back to blocks get more trapdoors/bark/stairs and bricks for the resources you craft them with. E.g. getting 12 trapdoors instead of 3
This mod may be a bit cheaty but I think you'd absolutely love the Easy Villager and/or Easy Piglins mod. I feel like it would've been a godsend before you'd made your villager trading hall and it may still be useful to help with lag.
I know it's a lot to read but those are my suggestions ^-^

I was wondering why this episode is only 1 and a half hour long. I can't believe that happened, that really sucks but please don't stop this series, it's my favorite! You can totally go into creative and redo everything until now and on the next episode we can start on 380 days. But no pressure, take all the time you need.
Also, to answer your question: yes, would love to see you add buildings with more height to them but no huge towers.

this is actually my favorite series of yours and I'm sad for what happened but I don't think anyone would be mad if you went into creative (if you can't recover the 100 days in any other way) and just restored everything I think it's pretty fair considering how fucked up mojang is for not having any sort of recovery or save so don't be too hard on yourself
Skyes you did so much work that I'm sure that most of us won't care if you go into creative and do it that way and it won't lose its charm you worked so hard on everything and we love your videos no matter what keep your head up mate and keep up the amazing work 👏😌

With the sugar cane farm, maybe in those deep slate pillars you could place like a waterfall in each pillar of three. So in the middle of each pillar you could have a waterfall there to get up to the top, and maybe even throw sea lantern blocks or whatever on the bottom of them. Love the vids!
