FLOWERS: your iron farm drops flowers. Also, moss blocks turn surrounding dirt blocks into more moss, azalea bushes and azalea flowery bushes that work as both decoration, sappling and flowers when you apply bone meal to them (kinda like when you just bone meal grass and some grass bushes and flowers appear around), further spreading the moss. Azalea bushes can be further bone mealed to be forced into an azalea tree (only way to grow one outside lush caves), which will have a few flowery blocks among its leaves and also has an input chance for bees.
for all the problems torches make for keeping the ✨aesthetic✨ consistent, what if you put a torch inside the trapdoor "cage" youve essentially made? the torch would be hidden and you would be able to solve problems like lighting bridge areas or not being able to place trapdoors behind a torch.

On thing you need to know, you can make an infinite lava source. You'll need some fireproof blocks (like cobblestone), cauldrons and dripstones. Basically, you encase the lava in blocks and put a dripstone directly under it. Then, put a cauldron under the dripstone and let it fill up. It's a little slow, but you can make rows of this contraption to accelerate the process. This way, you have a renewable and efficient fuel source.
Would love to see night time versions! The shaders make the world so pretty and calming and I always get a little sad it's only shown a tiny bit throughout the videos
I recommend the framed blocks mod. Where you place down a frame (slab, trapdoor, even slanted corners and such) and then right click a block on it. So you can do slabs, etc of blocks that don’t have those options (like leaves, dirt, etc). It’s very useful for decoration!
Just a quick tip, if you're going to use the coarse dirt for farmland anyway, you don't need to make it into real dirt first. It would save you quite a lot of time and shovels. Loving the videos btw
@@lellow19 he means that he shouldn’t put down the course dirt, hoe it, pick it up, then place it again for a farm. It easier to just place it where he wants it then hoe it twice to make farm land.

Multiple hundreds days videos would be awesome! Also wanted to suggest that once you get silk touch harvesting coral blocks and planting sea pickles on them right underneath the unlight glass flooring would be absolutely gorgeous at night.
I'd love to see more of this. In all honesty, these videos have helped me through a bad (near hospitalization) stomach virus, so I can't thank you enough for them. I love the imagination you put into the designs and how thoughtful you are about them. As for the grass block question, I think it should be fine to spawn in a grass block. I'm pretty sure they should be able to generate naturally somehow, but considering it's so tricky to figure out, spawning one in seems the next best thing.
Hey Skyes, Im loving the builds so far, but I had an idea. When you showed the base in the “cinematic view” I noticed that the platform for the iron farm and the Dock almost resembles the shape of a ship. So I was thinking what if you added a ship into the build and made it like a house or something? Keep up the amazing work, can’t wait for your future projects!!

You should probably make a simple auto-smelter for your glass. Since you can only put 64 sand into the furnace but lava cooks like, 100 or something, you're losing out on lava efficiency if you don't refill the furnaces immediately once they turn off. A chest with stuff you wanna smelt going into a hopper into the furnace is all you really need. Refill lava as needed!
Oh, and a mod suggestion & tip for mass farming dirt as you were curious about - if you use FTB Ultimine (a veinminer type mod that works on any block with the press of a hotkey), you can hold the vein key while tilling dirt with a hoe or shovel, and it will convert all of it at once, plus the ability to vein mine all the fresh dirt as well. Fast and easy.
maybe, for the bamboo torches and modded fences, you could stagger the heights of the fences and alternate them. like one bamboo torch could have one fence, and then the torch next to it could have two, and have that repeating with different heights, too. also, I love all your content, it’s clear to see how much effort and consideration you put into your builds. keep up the hard work!!

I guess I'll be the one to say it: get the grass block. The aesthetics would be fantastic. Also loving this series, the cool part of worlds like this is you can expand without limits (mountains and caves getting in the way). World looks amazing!
I thought that I was watching this as a complete series, so I'm sad it's actually current time! I'd totally dig 1000 days in this gorgeous world :D thinking the bamboo torches might be a little tall, all you see now in your eyeline is just sticky uppy torches, making them on one fence/wall block might be better , but maybe a few here and there in prominent places (eg, next to the bridge entrances) might look cool and make those parts pop out :) (also yes, spawn yourself a grass block, the bees need the beautifying love of grass!) ♥
I would love to see this go to 1000 days! Including both day and night cycles in the videos. With the issues you were having with the torches, it would be a decent amount more expensive with iron, but I think lanterns would make it look better. It doesn't have that giant point at the top, and it actually gives a bit more light than a torch, so you wouldn't need as many, and it wouldn't necessarily take away from the entire build as much as the bamboo torches were. And if not that, I'm not sure if the mod is up to date with this version, but there's a nice magic mod where you can place small orbs of light anywhere.
I love watching your videos, it's actually got me back into minecraft and is also wonderful to listen to while i'm working. Would love even longer movies if you are down to make them

And here are tips: Tiki torches can be more than one block high You can make a dirt farm First, you'll need to make a simple hoe with two wooden planks and two sticks: Then, just use it on the dirt block - it'll turn the blocks into tilled soil, aka, fertile Farmland! Though some crops can be planted here straight away, it's better to give your farmland a supply of water. And you can make a glass farm just like you make a bonemeal farm but instead of a composter do a furnace I hoped this helped!!❤❤

Hi Skyes, I have an ideas for a new platform. A nice little forest would be beautiful. You can take morning hikes and such sorts. Another building idea is a lobby out of glass so at night you can look at the beautiful glowing coral reef at night. Hope i see this in the video, i will NOT be dissapointed. Its just a suggestion. just a tip for later, but if you go to an island (specifically an island, I'll explain), and bonemeal the moss blocks, there's a chance that they will spawn blocks of grass, but they will replace the surrounding blocks (the sand and the stones and stuff) with the moss and stuff.
I like the idea of doing one of the rafts as more "sunk into" the water than the others. So you step down into an almost pit-like area. Not sure if that'd look good but could do it for a build with a lot of stone or iron involved that'd make it seem "heavier" than the others and thus would require more buoyancy
Very proud of you redoing the spruce farm Skyes. Please keep making these lovely videos but do take some time for yourself as well. You and your team work sooo hard on these videos.
Somethings you need to know: You can grow a masive spruce tree by placing 4 saplings in a 2 by 2, You get flowers from ur iron farm, you can make a dark oak tree -you have 10 saplings and all you have to do is place 4 saplings in a 2 by 2, you can get grass from lush caves and from breaking the grass u can get wheat seeds, you can get chickens from the mob farm but you have to breed them-THEY CANT LAY EGGS!

Day 190-194: What about the nodded lamp posts for the lighting issue? We didn't really get to see too much how they look in game, but the little preview of them in the crafting menu looked like it would look really nice. It might be worth a test to see how it looks? I'm so glad Skyes has made some productive changes, i.e. 50 hour videos taking 2 days to record, rather than an actual 50 hours of gameplay footage, so that he can give us faster and better content. Only a week since the last video and he's already out with another 2-hour long movie! I love the videos dude, I've caught the flu 3 times so far since the start of 2023 and probably spent a total of about 2.5 months being sick, laying down with some snacks to watch your movies at night gives me a good break from the aches and soreness that comes with it, so I am quite grateful. Keep up the good work, and don't stress yourself out! (Btw, proud of you for redoing the spruce wood farm. I have no idea who left that mess there but it's so kind of you to clean up.)
Love the content and builds. Definitely TOO many lampposts on the dock. Perhaps raising the stone wall by one will help? But agree that all I saw was the torches after you redid it. Look forward to day 300!
If you put the trapdoors that block in the villagers by theirs foreheads at the bottom instead of the top of the doorway, it should keep the kids in as well. They'll be blocked by those and the ones in the middle. So instead of you walking under tap doors to get in, you walk over them. Obviously keeping the middle set as the "door"

Really glad to see a 200 days on this world. He didn't do anything with the villagers except make the hut (which is awesome) and I was kind of hoping to see what else he would build with them (iron farm, villager trade tower, etc.) Edit: *Wasn't able to do anything with the villagers.
After you started talking about decorating your mob farm I keep seeing it as a giant tree. Wouldn't be that hard to make just replace the funnel as a tree trunk and decorate the spawner in the leaves of the tree.
Skyes, I love your logic... Def shows you've learned better the hard way. "I think all of these trapdoor are treated as entities, they're starting to lag my world..." Skyes proceeds to put bamboo trapdoors over leaves... Doubling the amount of trapdoors... Fun times watching these old videos.
I’m answering the questions you have! I believe the gravel method is the fastest way to get dirt - that or just find some in the overworld and dig it up. You had two baby villagers, they can fit between a 1x1 block tho! Lava farm - just search for drip stone and make it that way. It is slow but not if you have multiple cauldrons. I think the roof looks great how you have it. I wouldn’t bother with an automatic tree farm since you have the tree cutting mod. I think it would be easier to just level up a cleric villager to get glowstone, unless you want to get something else from piglin trading. I’m proud of you for redoing the spruce tree farm! How to farm sea pickles, they have to be underwater on a coral block and then you bone meal them. I love the bamboo trapdoors, I just don’t like them on the spruce farm. You could make some Chinese floating sky lanterns (lanterns and then dyed glass on top) Holy tiki torches, that’s a lot. Leaf tunnels is legit an amazing idea!! Another amazing movie! Can’t wait for 300 days :)
Yes, decorate the iron farm, at least with some leaves to make it blend in with the rest. Piglins trade Glowstone dust, I believe, yes. Nighttime only? hell yes. Building underwater? yes. Prefer the oak leaves without the bamboo trapdoor, I don't really like them but oh well, it's fine, I guess. I do like the lamp post idea for lighting. But maybe you could use the modded lamp post in other areas? Day 194: I like the lamp post at the dock. I'm not sure about the torches, like, is there any other modded ones that emit more lights? Because dear God that is way too much torches everywhere. Also, maybe make them higher? So you don't notice them as much. Can't wait for 300 days, this was awesome!
You should DEFINITELY add a furniture mod for ur house. It would really add a lot of detail to it, and it would look pretty realistic. Love ur vids btw😊
Hey Skyes, Make the mob farm like a big tree... The mob spawning area, the crown of the tree and the place they fall like the actual wood? Also i really like this series, so if you do a 300 days i would be, Really, Really happy! You could bonemeal moss for flowers, im pretty sure! And whit the "Buried Treasure" maps make like a map of your base? Im down for the "Night movie". For the bamboo trapdors ive got like 5 words... Amazing, Astetic, Beautiful, Use them... Also for light design use like the street lights you found (day 141).

I would love to see a surviving 100 days at night video. It would be challanging as well and i'm excited to see what type of base you'll build in there. Also tryout some furniture mod for interior designs.
Skyes! I know you’ll probably never see this but you were talking about how you’re wanting to add some new games into your mix. While I do support that I also hope that you know how amazing your Minecraft content is. Honestly it’s far superior to other Minecraft UA-camrs. You have a unique approach and I could literally watch these videos all day! Hopefully we’ll see many more Minecraft videos to come!

How about a lava farm? Since lavas can be duplicated with dripstone you can have unlimited amount and you don't need to go back to the nether. Love the vid!
Love the video! Just so you know for next time, the most efficient place to mine iron is at y-level 15. I know you don't need that information now with the iron farm, but for future worlds, I thought it could be useful. Keep up the good work.
I have an idea for the LIGHTING: Maybe you could add like those chinese style floating lights you see in movies and they could have like shroomlights or something and just be dotted around in the sky.
Day 150: what to do with the mob farm. Decorate it as either a giant tiki totem or as one of those stone heads from easter island. The tiki style could use those bamboo torches and give a nice beach aesthetic. Or the stone would make a good color variant and would look great with moss. Also, maybe consider giving the base a kelp border just outside the ring of leaves. It would give beautiful depth and from a distance make the base look partially submerged for that floating effect. Or even, add logs underneath (1 block into the water) for a different raft-style float. That'd look sick with shroom lights near the glass openings at night too!
Just a mod suggestion - Depending on what versions of Minecraft you're playing and what modloader you're using, Straw Golem Rebaled and Villager Workers might be good mods to consider, the former being good for automatic farm harvesting for the future, and the latter being villagers you can hire to do different jobs such as mining for you, chopping down trees, fishing for you, etc. Botany pots might be useful for making automated compact farms, and if you're playing in 1.18.2 or below, Bonsai Trees 3 is good to consider for tree farms (making them more compact, and automating them) - I hope this helps!

I guess I'll be the one to say it: get the grass block. The aesthetics would be fantastic. Also loving this series, the cool part of worlds like this is you can expand without limits (mountains and caves getting in the way). World looks amazing!
I thought that I was watching this as a complete series, so I'm sad it's actually current time! I'd totally dig 1000 days in this gorgeous world :D thinking the bamboo torches might be a little tall, all you see now in your eyeline is just sticky uppy torches, making them on one fence/wall block might be better , but maybe a few here and there in prominent places (eg, next to the bridge entrances) might look cool and make those parts pop out :) (also yes, spawn yourself a grass block, the bees need the beautifying love of grass!) ♥
I would love to see this go to 1000 days! Including both day and night cycles in the videos. With the issues you were having with the torches, it would be a decent amount more expensive with iron, but I think lanterns would make it look better. It doesn't have that giant point at the top, and it actually gives a bit more light than a torch, so you wouldn't need as many, and it wouldn't necessarily take away from the entire build as much as the bamboo torches were. And if not that, I'm not sure if the mod is up to date with this version, but there's a nice magic mod where you can place small orbs of light anywhere.
I love watching your videos, it's actually got me back into minecraft and is also wonderful to listen to while i'm working. Would love even longer movies if you are down to make them
I love this hardcore world and playthrough! It's such a gorgeous setting and really fun to watch. I hope you take it to the full 1000 days.

Tiki torches can be more than one block high
You can make a dirt farm
First, you'll need to make a simple hoe with two wooden planks and two sticks: Then, just use it on the dirt block - it'll turn the blocks into tilled soil, aka, fertile Farmland! Though some crops can be planted here straight away, it's better to give your farmland a supply of water.
And you can make a glass farm just like you make a bonemeal farm but instead of a composter do a furnace

You can take morning hikes and such sorts. Another building idea is a lobby out of glass so at night
you can look at the beautiful glowing coral reef at night. Hope i see this in the video, i will NOT be dissapointed.

just a tip for later, but if you go to an island (specifically an island, I'll explain), and bonemeal the moss blocks, there's a chance that they will spawn blocks of grass, but they will replace the surrounding blocks (the sand and the stones and stuff) with the moss and stuff.
I like the idea of doing one of the rafts as more "sunk into" the water than the others. So you step down into an almost pit-like area. Not sure if that'd look good but could do it for a build with a lot of stone or iron involved that'd make it seem "heavier" than the others and thus would require more buoyancy

Somethings you need to know: You can grow a masive spruce tree by placing 4 saplings in a 2 by 2, You get flowers from ur iron farm, you can make a dark oak tree -you have 10 saplings and all you have to do is place 4 saplings in a 2 by 2, you can get grass from lush caves and from breaking the grass u can get wheat seeds, you can get chickens from the mob farm but you have to breed them-THEY CANT LAY EGGS!
Hey :) I'm proud of you for redoing the spruce farm it looks nice, I personally am a huge fan of contrast so I wouldn't have stripped the logs but it still looks good either way.

Day 190-194: What about the nodded lamp posts for the lighting issue? We didn't really get to see too much how they look in game, but the little preview of them in the crafting menu looked like it would look really nice. It might be worth a test to see how it looks?

I'm so glad Skyes has made some productive changes, i.e. 50 hour videos taking 2 days to record, rather than an actual 50 hours of gameplay footage, so that he can give us faster and better content. Only a week since the last video and he's already out with another 2-hour long movie!
I love the videos dude, I've caught the flu 3 times so far since the start of 2023 and probably spent a total of about 2.5 months being sick, laying down with some snacks to watch your movies at night gives me a good break from the aches and soreness that comes with it, so I am quite grateful. Keep up the good work, and don't stress yourself out! (Btw, proud of you for redoing the spruce wood farm. I have no idea who left that mess there but it's so kind of you to clean up.)

If you put the trapdoors that block in the villagers by theirs foreheads at the bottom instead of the top of the doorway, it should keep the kids in as well. They'll be blocked by those and the ones in the middle. So instead of you walking under tap doors to get in, you walk over them. Obviously keeping the middle set as the "door"

Really glad to see a 200 days on this world. He didn't do anything with the villagers except make the hut (which is awesome) and I was kind of hoping to see what else he would build with them (iron farm, villager trade tower, etc.)

After you started talking about decorating your mob farm I keep seeing it as a giant tree. Wouldn't be that hard to make just replace the funnel as a tree trunk and decorate the spawner in the leaves of the tree.

I believe the gravel method is the fastest way to get dirt - that or just find some in the overworld and dig it up.
You had two baby villagers, they can fit between a 1x1 block tho!
Lava farm - just search for drip stone and make it that way. It is slow but not if you have multiple cauldrons.
I think the roof looks great how you have it.
I wouldn’t bother with an automatic tree farm since you have the tree cutting mod.
I think it would be easier to just level up a cleric villager to get glowstone, unless you want to get something else from piglin trading.

How to farm sea pickles, they have to be underwater on a coral block and then you bone meal them.

I'm not sure about the torches, like, is there any other modded ones that emit more lights? Because dear God that is way too much torches everywhere. Also, maybe make them higher? So you don't notice them as much.

Hey Skyes, Make the mob farm like a big tree... The mob spawning area, the crown of the tree and the place they fall like the actual wood? Also i really like this series, so if you do a 300 days i would be, Really, Really happy! You could bonemeal moss for flowers, im pretty sure! And whit the "Buried Treasure" maps make like a map of your base? Im down for the "Night movie". For the bamboo trapdors ive got like 5 words... Amazing, Astetic, Beautiful, Use them... Hey Skyes I loved the video, I do have a suggestion though (Don't know if you did this in the 300 days or not) but the potion stand villagers, they can trade you glowstone and the librarian villagers can trade you glass. While I do support that I also hope that you know how amazing your Minecraft content is. Honestly it’s far superior to other Minecraft UA-camrs. You have a unique approach and I could literally watch these videos all day! Hopefully we’ll see many more Minecraft videos to come!

How about a lava farm? Since lavas can be duplicated with dripstone you can have unlimited amount and you don't need to go back to the nether. Love the vid!

I have an idea for the LIGHTING: Maybe you could add like those chinese style floating lights you see in movies and they could have like shroomlights or something and just be dotted around in the sky.

Day 150: what to do with the mob farm. Decorate it as either a giant tiki totem or as one of those stone heads from easter island. The tiki style could use those bamboo torches and give a nice beach aesthetic. Or the stone would make a good color variant and would look great with moss. Also, maybe consider giving the base a kelp border just outside the ring of leaves. It would give beautiful depth and from a distance make the base look partially submerged for that floating effect. Or even, add logs underneath (1 block into the water) for a different raft-style float. That'd look sick with shroom lights near the glass openings at night too!

Just a mod suggestion - Depending on what versions of Minecraft you're playing and what modloader you're using, Straw Golem Rebaled and Villager Workers might be good mods to consider, the former being good for automatic farm harvesting for the future, and the latter being villagers you can hire to do different jobs such as mining for you, chopping down trees, fishing for you, etc. Botany pots might be useful for making automated compact farms, and if you're playing in 1.18.2 or below, Bonsai Trees 3 is good to consider for tree farms (making them more compact, and automating them) - I hope this helps!
