Lucasfilm presenteert “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", het eerste deel in een nieuwe serie van een op zichzelf staande Star Wars reeks.
“Rogue One” gaat over een groep onwaarschijnlijke helden die in roerige tijden met elkaar samenwerken om de plannen voor het ultieme vernietigingswapen, de Death Star, te stelen van het oppermachtige Keizerrijk. Dit belangrijke moment op de Star Wars-tijdlijn is allesbepalend: het brengt gewone mensen bij elkaar die ervoor kiezen om buitengewone dingen te doen en zo onderdeel worden van iets groters dan henzelf.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is geregisseerd door Gareth Edwards met acteurs Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen en Forest Whitaker. Met Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur en Simon Emanuel als producent, en John Knoll en Jason McGatlin als uitvoerend producent. Het verhaal is geschreven door John Knoll en Gary Whitta, en het scenario door Chris Weitz en Tony Gilroy. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is vanaf 14 december 2016 in de Nederlandse bioscopen te zien.
What's cool about this is that the U-Wing here is more akin to a Clone Wars-era fighter. It isn't as degraded any OT Y Wing. In fact, it looks almost pristine. It gives us a look at how Clone Wars era spacecrafts would look and contrast against the OT era world and honestly, it fits just fine for me! Also a plus side for reinforcing the connection between the two trilogies
I mean... X-wing and A-wing werent degraded either, X-wing might have been a bit old, but A-wing was a top of the line fighter designed by the alliance itself out of a new design from a local defence force and the B-Wing was an extremely high tech and powerful bomber designed by the mon cala, and that needed constant and careful maintenance. U-wing takes a lot of aesthetic from the x-wing in fact, you can easily see they share a lot of parts and style in the details, i think because they're made by the same company in-universe. I'm not saying it doesnt fit, i think it fits great and i love it, i just dont see how it looks like a clone wars era fighter past the fact of not having been stripped like the y-wing
Imagine being in space and seeing a ship make it out in time.
Saw Guerra, Rebel, Terrorist, Freedom Fighter. He has lived a long life and has seen so much death and so much pain and suffering and some of that was his fault as well.
In his crippled state Saw knew that couldn't make it and when he saw that giant wave he took of his lung tube and he put up his arms and said "BRING IT ON EMPIRE!!!!!!!".
He died on his own terms and he found the peace that he wanted.
He'll return in Andor series

Sad ending for Saw but... it's how he would have wanted to go out. The U-Wing OTOH is a really silly design but we love it nonetheless.

Going into hyperspace from inside an atmosphere? Seeing star streaks despite not passing any stars? Then going too slow in the next shot anyway.
