Dude, this is awesome! I've been looking into the grille surrounds or OEM replacements, but the price is crazy. I'm definitely going to give this a go. Like you said, worst case scenario is you could always wrap it or go the other route. Just curious - do you have to remove the entire grille? Can you not just pop off the surrounds without removing the grille?
I don't think you can pop the grille surround off without removing the entire grille bumper to release the chrome tabs in the back and then get better access to the lower bumper pieces which are tucked under the mustache piece. I'm doing something similar, but with another color and I've looked at it. Good luck! And, thanks YotaGarage for showcasing this.
Yes, the paint has held up great, only thing I would do different is add one more coat of clear coat. Recently my truck got coated with rocks and salt from a snow plow, and I got one rock chip on the painted surface. However, I also got a couple rock chips on the factory paint on the hood so overall I'm happy with the results.
You didn't say which tundra model? The front end has light bar and fog lights. It made think it was higher trim. Since its all black. It must be SR. That's the reason why I'm going with SR5 white. Too much black upfront is too much. Im changing my thoughts back to SR again. You save 1000's for the same truck. Very Cool idea. 😊
Well done. I will do something similar to my 1794.

@@a-teamIL Gotcha. Will look into how to remove the entire grille, thanks!
Nicely done. What’s your impression over time so far? Is the paint holding well?

It came out very clean.
Completely transforms the look, surprising it’s pretty spot on.
Good job buddy I might do that
Good job man! Thanks for sharing I’ll do the same on mine.
Thanks for watching, hope it's helpful!
I have army green on my 2022 tundra.. I guess I'll be painting it black for the mustache
Wonder if you open for some lighting sponsorship:) ?
What color paint did you use?
Mine is the super white
How man can of color match did you use in total? Want to make sure I have enough.
2 Cans of Paint, Also I would recommend getting the equal amount of clearcoat as paint.
