- We were in no position to have a pet for years. So for years I told my daughter no. To keep her clueless while my wife records I acted as if I was upset about something. The best surprise puppy reaction ever!
1:16 the joy of the father to see his daughter happy.
Thank God there are good parents in this world. You just gave her the best gift she could ever have and she will always remember this day the rest of her life.

Okay, it's time for an update on Buttercup.
Watching this makes me want to get a puppy again and be a part of my daughter's life while growing up and be part of our family.. But 20 years ago i promised my self not to get another because eventually they will leave you someday and it is one of the hardest and painful feeling in your life to let them go. Our dog left us when i was 20 during the time when i was about to go to college😢 My Dad bought it for me on my 11th birthday. RIP Blitzen🐕😭❤️
Yeah, I did the same thing, I had our little doggie euthanized, when I was like 18, and now at 57, I still remember him deeply, with the pain of thinking that perhaps I could have done more to fix him up after he got all torn up by another dog. To this day, I've had that guilty feeling.... And I loved him so much, that I cried for days... when I see other dogs that look like him I get misty eyed... almost 40 years later. I haven't had a dog since. But at least I did grow up with dogs, in my childhood, thru my very last one at 18 years old. And got to know the beautiful, loving beings that they are. Perhaps you may want to give your daughter that chance too, to know one of the purest loves in this world. You had that chance.

I don't know exactly what it is but you can just tell that this wee-lassie thoroughly deserves her puppy !. 'Is it ours ?' - she didn't say 'is it mine' and for me that shows a totally un-selfish manner and thought !

Why I cried too
I got a puppy around that age, German Shepherd named Baron von Richthofen. Had him four days before we realized I was insanely allergic to him. Hives, throat swollen, spent the night at the hospital and when I got home, no puppy. 🥺

Your right. I just wanted her to come up with a list and she chose Ginger. I had the hardest time for months remembering our dogs name lol
Let her name the puppy what she wants, that's when you know it's your dog..
She definitely did. She named her Ginger. Which took me like 2 months to remember for some reason lol
