Hi, Al. This video is a dub of a Tumblr meme about the top ten dinosaurs / dinosauruses. This one is number six, the smilodon. Please show it to people who will like it. Thank you. - Комедії
The name "smilodon" comes from the fact that this dangersaur laughs in the face of God
and also smiles at you after you give em a a lil kiss on the mouth and get married, get a happy life and get pregant with the smilingdong ege!
More like laughed in the face of luke skywalker
@@Gustoberg Um...
@@Gustoberg i'm concerned about why thatvis the first thing you thougth of
The Smilodon is actually unable to laugh because of its significantly inferior diaphragm. Cool metaphor though.
Unlike the previous dinosauruses, this one said nothing about the smilodon being extinct, implying they’re still alive.
It kinda looks like my aunt Linda!
still alive? time to bring one to the zoo!
They live on in Pokémon Emerald
It used the past tense, implying it no longer exists (sadly)
yeah it did say "was"
Once again the poor smilodon doesn't get the credit for inventing smiling.
Common misconception! That was actually thylacosmilus, who also invented teeth :-)
@@aeronlangheim3462Common misconception, for those existed before even the Stone Age, let alone the Teeth Age, so they could not have invented teeth
@@thatdude9091 ah, that's right! How silly of me. I must have been thinking of the thylacine, which is why they could do that with their mouth.
**Somewhere in the distance, a paleontologist is writhing in complete and utter agony...**
Yay!
Paleontologists are similar to Geologists in how I feel about them.
correction, both paleontologists and star wars nerds are in complete and utter agony-
**...for without this rigorous exercise and weight training, the wild palaeontologist would fail to hunt and catch its next fossil.**
Can confirm.
Yeah... knowing the Internet there is going to be at least one person who will think that this is real isn't there?
I honestly love how the picture is literally just a Rancor from star wars
Weren't you listening? The video said it was a smilodon, keep up pay attention brother
So uncivilised
Oh you're such a silly goose, haha let me enlighten you a bit. They used a live Smilodon in the Star Wars films. The smilodon is the "actor" who plays the Rancor. Thus, all Rancor art and other appearances are really just a Smilodon rebranded with a different name. I'm glad I could shower you in some creamy knowledge sauce! Stay educated 😎
@@General_kenobi12General Kenobi
@@LtCdrXander "shower you in some creamy knowledge sauce" LMFAO
It's also called the "smilodon" due to being the opposite of the "frownodon"
But bringing that up in polite conversation is generally "frowndupon"
The Frownodon lost it's legs after eating an apple, and was the first snake.
That's #5 on the list
And the troodon being the opposite of the folsdon
Just incase people don't know, smilodon is actually the name for sabertoothed cats
For one genus of sabertooth cats, not in general.
Pretty sure it's a dinosor🤨
No, no... I think it's the title of the head of the dentist mafia.
Just in case people really don't know, Smiley O'Donald is my uncle from the Mafia.
*One genus*
Other genii include *Homotherium, Xenosmilus, Megantereon, Yoshi* (not kidding) and *Dinofelis*
He’s such a cute little eldritch abomination with incomprehensible power! 🥺🥺🥺
The fact that it is even close to what convergent evolution actually is threw me completely off lol
Yeah, same xD These have been getting close to incomprehensible and the return to "wait this actually kinda fits" made me laugh
well, not really. With convergent evolution, unrelated species develop similar traits due to similar environmental pressures, which is not anything close to what happened here
Glad to see Rancors are really just a happy/swole version of dinosauruses
It's also called the \
Wait can someone explain the joke it surely cannot be "backslash"
Oh, the classic sabertooth rancor.
Smilodon was also the first dimosaur that realized frowning was not energy efficient
For all the people who haven't seen Star Wars, this is an image of the Rancor, not an actual dinosaur
nah it's Orga from Godzilla 2000
It's a smilodon
Notably as well, Smilodon wasn’t even a dinosaur. It was a sabre-tooth cat
I don't know who's right, but I want to add that Smilodon is not a dinosaur, but a sabretooth cat. :D
@@manutosis598 Oh yeah my bad
I like how it gradually becomes more and more absurd
I'm a geologist and this is 100% factual information. Smilodon was indeed an early monkey. Also great image of Smilodon, you sure didn't want to run into one of those in the Jurassic!
Rancors are smiling all the time for sure
I can not express how much I love this series or whatever it is. I'm glad we are getting to the top 5.
Same! I recently rediscovered my love for dinosaurs and this series perfectly hits my humor. Looking forward to every new upload
The Top 5 will be getting even wilder. I have seen the Original Tumblr post
Another thing: Smilodom was a Dinosaurn in the family “Fingersaurias” who all had the greek word for finger in their name. This also includes the Peradon, Archodon, Truedon, and Protractordon. This is because the King of Greece had a very strange looking finger, one which was similar to those dinosauris .
What a sweetheart! Look forward to number 5
- A tier list about "Dinosauruses"
- The actual creature's name used is that of a Sabertooth tiger
- The creature in the image is a Rancor from Star Wars
Seems like a pretty accurate tier list
It also earned it's nickname "Sabertooth" due to the unusually sharp teeth it's near constant smile shows. Implying that the Smilidon grinds it's teeth so hard from smiling so much, it's became as sharp as a saber and can now be classified as a dangersauroses weapon
I work in a museum's fossil prep lab and part of my job is talking to museum visitors about paleontology. I swear some of the people I talk to got their entire understanding of prehistory from this tumblr post.
Ok but seriously though that image gave me a bit of PTSD from Jedi: Survivor lol
I love how these are more absurd and funny if you know more about palaeontology. You can tell the person who wrote it knew so much to make it as wrong as humanely possible.
I'm loving your series on how to defeat a paleontologist. Only theoretically since your hatred for them is purely theatrical.
It's working
Oh hey look it’s Mike Johnson’s understanding of evolution
SHoulda been called the Swollodon cause dem muscles doe
Blessed by the algorythm for getting this channel recommended. The writing gives me big Douglas Adams vibes.
Can't wait for 4.
This guy is truly talented at the art of misinformation. literally as untrue as could possibly be.
No, this is a totally true statement about disonaurns. You're just confusing them with dinosaurs.
@@michaelleue7594 🤯
My brain is withering away upon this series and I may as well just leave my zoology course upon hearing these wise words
The best part about all these is that they're educated. Like you can talk that whoever wrote definitely knows what they're talking about
So the guy who invented the number 6 was, in fact, alive in the time of the dinosauruses
Now I ain’t a biologist but I’m at least 97 percent sure that that’s not how convergent evolution works, however I will concede to your opinion because you are both the king and queen of science
Just look at his cute lil face, so adorable
when a tv show has to use science but they don’t wanna do the research so they just throw random words together
i always walk away from these videos just thinking 'wow, that might be true!'
this is my favorite series
The plot is thickenning.
Extremely concise yet thorough. I love Smilodon's literal _first steps_ to advancing evolution to a whole new level!
The rancors about to go on a sueing spree
Rancors invented walking confirmed
I can’t wait for the real punchline of this series to be a completely true scientifically accurate analysis of the number 1 dinosauruses
I can't believe they're actually doing all of them xD
Does that mean "sobodon" comes from devil's tears?
Amazing
SMILODON MY BELOVED
My favourite part about this series is how previous entries were based on actual misconceptions about those species: Oviraptor stealing eggs instead of protecting them, Iguanadon having a nose horn instead of a thumb spike, Dimetrodon being a dinosaur instead of coming slightly before them. And now, it's just devolved into complete BS, Smileodon, a sabre toothed tiger, not even a reptile, let alone a dinosaur, represented by a rancor, listed as the ancestor of monkeys and the first ever two legged animal. Can't wait to see how unhinged number 1 will be!
I’d love a Rancor canonically named “Smilodon”
Pokemon players shuddering when they hear the phrase "convergent evolution"
Funny you should mention...
lovin these dinosauri
They had one of these on Tatooine and it is said the witches of Dathomir rode through the forests on the backs of these magestic beings
The frownodon on the other hand is mainly recognised for its adaptation to survive underwater, known as swimming
As an Biologist and Paleontology nerd, I'm in pain from this.
No waey thats a star wars
Yeah I can't believe they used a picture of the Rancor from Star Trek, it's pretty funny lol
Actually, that looks like the USS Jimmy McPerson from Stargate, though I may be wrong.
I'm screaming on the inside
As a cat lover and thus someone who owns the Eyewitness Book on cats, I knew right away that "Smilodon" is really saber tooth tigers lol
Cant wait for rancors, as they haven't been formally discovered outside of star wars books
Did Smilodon teach the medieval cats to walk on hind legs?
If so, Smilodon must have also been a hard-working churchgoer.
He smile alot
I love how there is so much technical information contained in only 22sec of video. I want lots of dinosawr knowledge
I love it.
The last sentence is there to send you to the biologist hell
Epic
As a palaeontologist I can confirm this is entirely accurate
Fun fact: There aren't any more Smilodons in the wild because the Ghost Busters got em all.
Say what you will, but frownadons invented laying down, and that makes me happy.
As an animal nerd, I am in an ungodly amount of pain.
As a biologist: Im gonna end myself right here and now
Dinosaurn are literally turning into eldritch monsters 🥰
A Dinosaurus sounds like a paleontologists pokedex.
Smilodon was also known for their anger issues. It is theorized that they learned how to stand on the hind legs in order to free their arms to deliver an absolutely wicked haymaker! Indeed they were absolutely full of RANCOR.
He doesn’t look to happy
Don'tscreamdon'tscreamdon'tscream...
For the record, convergent evolution is when two unrelated species evolve the same or similar traits.
Didn't know we had evolved from smilodons! However, if that's so, I think I should be smiling. And I'm not.
HEY IT'S THE RANCOR FROM STAR WARS
Smilodon is clearly still extant as is evidenced by the human skull near its foot. So let it be known that the risk of being eaten by a Smilodon is low but never zero.
I can feel my evolution "converging" as I write this comment
This april fools joke has turned into an april joke
The Smilodon was just a cat he just gave a cat credit for what the Rancor did. >:(
I love how some of these are shitposts, and some would be genuinely informative if a time traveler kicked a rock
As a Paleonerd, oh god.
This dude had to use the concept "covergent evolution" to get extra points
Literally me frfr
This whole series is 100x funnier if ur into paleontology and zoology because then u can know every single way this is wrong
As a paleontologist, no joke, my reaction was basically: "What the..what the fuck?"
What in the brightside
rawr
Unlike his cousin Smileodon,he went extinct
Yes, the Rancor is definitely a smilodon-
As a paleontology and star wars nerd, this actually triggers me in ways I didn't think were possible
Is that... a Rancor...?
Nahh the rancor from Star Wars 💀💀💀
Its a rancor lol
Went for DnD now
Yeah that's a Rancor and below lay human bones.
mmm udon
Convergent evolution that means this dinosaurus is the common ancestore of monkeyes ❤❤
