Nice idea but unfortunately funds will not allow for new C75 track. I will be making full use of my old streamline C100 track and hoping for the best results, This way i only need to buy minimal track. In the fiddle yard i am using code 100 set track from Peco as i have a fair bit laying around and want to use it up as the FY will be out of view. Hopefully one day if finances allow I can upgrade. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Hello Wayne, talking from personal experience, the most useful and important information I can suggest to you is that you STOP building the layout and instead put your attention, energy and money into making the loft a habitable space by insulating it thoroughly and putting in at least 2 Velux style windows. Use the Building Regulation as the blueprint. it takes time and money! If you carry on without this conversion, the layout will be unusable for most of the year: either too hot or too cold, an uninviting space! Natural light and ventilation is also essential. Trying to retro fit-out the loft will be unbelievably tricky. If you don't convert the loft now and just carry on you'll regret it ever after! Now is the time, before the layout construction! I think you'll find that Richard of Everard Junction is doing this loft conversion in his newly acquired house before he commences the new layout build. Regards Julian.
@@theeventhorizon-valebridge9512 many thanks for the advice Julian, I have been discussing this subject with the partner over the last couple of days and plans are in place to make this happen as I’ve experienced a few cold nights up there. Like you said it’s a bit of an outlay but I think definitely worth it in the long run :) I won’t do any scenery work until this has been actioned so I don’t ruin anything. Happy to crack on with some track work for now though, Take Care and thanks for the feedback.
@@DugmerJunction depends on how often you expect to be up there I guess. Personally I'd take the loft money and if you have space get a log cabin in your garden, unless you have a way of building a flight of stairs to the attic space it seems like it will always be a pig to get into.
Bit of advice lad, don't permanently box that pipe in,it looks like the flu from your boiler, you'll need to keep it free for servicing/inspection etc, also I'd take that Man U thing down, don't embarrass yourself (howay the lads ⚫⚪⚫⚪)
@@stevenpryce7808 Many thanks Steven, definitely spot on about the embarrassment! They are absolutely shocking and it’s so painful to watch! 100% correct on the boiler pipe also, chap who installed showed me the parts that need an access door for servicing later down the road so will keep it free. Thanks for stopping by :)
