My Grandmother is a relation of Rose and Milo. My Nanny's grandmother was a Coolahan but her maiden name was Talbot. Margaret Talbot of Malahide. I believe she was sister of James but she married Catholic. Nanny referred to 'Milo' as Uncle Milo and Rose as Aunty Rose - supposedly Milo was very aloof and quite cold. Nanny said Rose was a gem. A beautiful soul. Even though they were first cousins twice removed.
Eddie, thanks for these. Great memories. Regarding Rose Talbot and the Samaritans, I have a long-standing friend in Swords who was in the Samaritans at the same time and he told me many years ago that she was highly regarded by other members as a very good member, compassionate, and a good listener.
Hi Joe, Thanks for this. That's great to hear and so good she was fondly remembered by all. She was always very kind to my mother and was a real people-person. Eddie.
My great great grandfather Lord Sir Boozy di Piffel Stackpoole Stickappopple was at a late Lunch in this rather small pile,he made a fatal misjudgement when he dropped the paw on one of the dusky beauties that populated the scullery, she was ferrying a full skillet of Tripe n Onions ,this of course went flying across the Chinese wood floor ,the Scllery maid gave him a dig in the gob,,well !! he was ejected by the side door at the point of the scimitar never to return, the ignominy never leaves one,
Do you remember the man who lived in the gate lodge called cole? He was a train driver as far as I remember and I went to school with his son in the early 70’s.
