Hope this helps with some of the issues any of us have been having with using the Husqvarna app for on motorcycle display navigation. Have fun and ride safe!
Nice! I haven’t used the display nav yet but I’m glad to know about the tricks to use it if needed. I’ve been using one of the motorcycle carplay/android auto portable units. They very between about $115-$300. Go by many different names. They are all the same. It mounts directly to the gps mount provided with the expedition. I needed slightly larger washers because the included ones were barley too small for that mount. The wiring works with stock wires that are under the gps mount. The screen sits perfect above the display unit. It gives me actual turn by turn with a map displayed with google or apple maps. Will also show a track to follow on Gaia. If out of cell range. Make sure offline maps are loaded for the area. I used this on the OR BDR-X with both google and Gaia. Music apps will also work. If using headset. Phone and headset both need to be connected to carplay unit. Every thing can be controlled while my phone is in my pocket and it auto connects when the bike is turned on. Love this setup. Keep the videos coming. Nice garage!!!
I love that. Can you shoot a link for the unit you purchased? It seems like there are dozens on Amazon, but tough to know which to go with. The more I'm using the nav feature, I'm finding that not all gravel roads and trails can be found on Husqvarna's app. That's really frustrating. Stuff that is easily found on Apple Maps. Thanks for the insight and the video view!
I too struggled to get my Expedition to connect to my phone. The dealer told me at the time I picked up the bike (middle of June) that Norden is working on an update to the software (the bike side I believe) that will make things easier down the road. I still have 200 miles until my first service, so hopefully they will have the upgrade by then and can set it up for me. PS I agree the Expedition is an insanely good adventure bike. After riding it for a week, I told my friend that if someone gave me a blank check and said get any bike you want, the Expedition would be my pick. My journey to my Expedition began with zeroing in on a Triumph Rally Pro, then pulling back to a Tenere 700. I was days away from putting down the deposit when I saw the Expedition. Two emails and an hour later my deposit was in.
I agree sir, its probably the best looking adv bike out there, striking appearance, i have following this husky for awhile, really would like to own one myself👊🏽😎🔥‼️
You’re right on the money. The same with the KTM890 (of course…). After you pair the device to the bike, you need to connect the Bluetooth every time you use the “KTM/Husky My Ride” app. Otherwise is so frustrating and no one at the dealer website mentions it. Well done explaining it with your video.
Well fubar, that didn't work either.☹️ Something apparently doesn't jive between my phone's Bluetooth and the bike's. It keeps showing the connection going on and off so the app won't connect. On a different note, both my helmets' intercoms work flawlessly.
Great job explaining that, I didn't know it could do that. Looking at an adventure bike and this is on the list! Oh also do a video on the garage storage or lifts?
Thanks! And happy shopping for a new ride! I'll do one on the lift and mezzanine upcoming for sure. I did one on cabinets and storage if that's of interest. It's one of the few I've done on the channel. But please let me know if there is something different you'd like to see on storage. Thanks again!
Hi, just install the unit on a '22 Regular Norden, i don't even have the Nav menu, but i have the audio one. Is that a Explorer option for the navigation on screen?
We all hate subscription stuff like that for sure. Especially for what we pay for these bikes. Hate seeing KTM going down that path where the bikes are equipped with all features, but you have to pay subscriptions to unlock them.
Ok, I have it! I paired/unpaired iphone with the bike at least 3 times and suddenly navi appeared on my screen. No idea what just happened but it works now ;)
I've been struggling will give your method a go App is working on phone but bike navigation will not highlight to enter so hopefully your method will get me set up at last
Hope you were able to make it work. I've heard from a few that have had to delete the app and reinstall it a t time or two before it would stop being grayed out. Thanks for the note!
Great question! So, I lost signal, but maintained GPS and the nav continued. On my iPhone, when I'm out of service, I lose all of the bars, but either a small satellite shows in its place or it simply says GPS there. Hope that helps.
The luggage rack is a bit flimsy, so be aware of that. Otherwise great bike. Only issue I've had with mine was a random motor shut down the first 700 km.
Wow, motor shutting down? That's rough. What was the fix? And I agree on the luggage attachments. My buddy, drilled a couple of holes inside the bag (small jeopardy to water tight) and zip tied them. This is obviously committing them to not being removable easily but it's worked for him.
@@EdenToyBarn I have not made any action towards the motor shut down issue. It happened at about 80 km and at 700 km (motor shutting down after I drop the throttle and engage the clutch). I now have about 3 000 km and it has not happened since. I suspect it is some cable being squeezed, triggering a false kill engine signal to the MCU, but I am not certain.
Hello please I just get my expedition 2024 and doesn’t has the navigation in menu active I already connect my phone I make call from the bike menu but the navigation is grey I can’t enter 😢what is this means?
Congrats on the new Expedition! I checked mine just now and I too am a basic plan (free) and it outlines the differences in Basic vs Premium when you click on settings and than Navigation in the app. Premium pricing shows as $5/month for me. And it's not required me to upgrade to use the nav on the bike screen.
Dude . I don't want to alarm you but do you realise that when enter the search for directions to the sushi bar on your phone that you just showed viewers almost exactly where you live ... I'm not sure if that a great idea for the security of your possessions ... Potential thief's may view this video
Thanks for the advice. I’ve had my bike for three months and love it! now I have to figure out how to get a garage like yours lol!
Getting mine in 2 days. Glad I came across this video!
Great video. I reinstalled the Ride Husqvarna app and now it works. Thanks!
Got 3100 plus miles on my Expedition and heading out for an all day adventure today!
Thanks for the video!
Enjoy and be safe! 🏍️💨
Love it! Ride safe.
Thank you! Will save me a lot of time
Thank you! After an hour of frustration I found your helpful video. 🙏
Glad it helped!
Yesterday I ordered mine, and I read in forums about this issue so your video has saved me from multiple headaches! great video! Cheers from Spain

Much appreciated! I gave up on it, but good to go now. Cheers!

Thanks Damien! I have my fingers crossed you get one in your quiver.

Nice job. Nice shed too!
Thanks Andy!
Thanks for that..still fighting with navi set up though and no idea what I am doing wrong ;)
I've also had problems connecting, thanks
Thank you, Sir! Helpful information.

Been having problems with this same issue, but with an Android phone. Now I have something else to try.😂👍

Thank you. I have a lot to figure out. I just brought mine home today traded in a tiger xc. I hope that wasn't a mistake
Cograts on the new one! Love the Tiger too, but I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Great info, thanks. My 22 Norden was totaled , this will be next in line for me .

my navigation comes up but not highlighted bright white when scrolling to it ? not like the other settings
Mine was doing that too, Phillip, but only when the bluetooth would randomly disconnect.
