Abaqus Tutorial: Abaqus/Explicit Dynamic Analysis #1

This tutorial provides an overview of theory and application of the Abaqus/Explicit Dynamic Analysis approach which is fundamentally different to Abaqus/Standard Static Analysis.

Within the Abaqus/Explicit VUEL (user element) there is a variable "a" for the "accelerations of the variables at the end of the current increment", is this equivalent to dot(dot(u))^i ? if so, how does the solver know a priori the result of inv(M)*(F-I)? or is this "a" variable dot(dot(u))^(i-1)? thank you!
