I'm a 44 year old father of two little girls, and this "kids" show hits me harder emotionally than any other show I watch. Not just any other kids show, any other show, period. Sleepy Time made me openly cry as it is the most beautiful metaphor for kids' gradual movement towards independence and parents' unconditional ever-present love I have ever seen animated. How they do this in these little 8 minute segments is nothing short of absolute genius. This is the best "kids" show to hit TV in decades.

This show has a soft place in my heart. The episode Army broke me to tears because I was a child who had adhd, but didn’t know. For the longest time I truly believed something was wrong with me.. but I learned it wasn’t my fault. Nothing was wrong. And this show validated how I felt, and also reminded me that even back then I was capable to doing things regardless of my set backs. I just had always focused on the negatives for so long.

I have a little brother, and he's been really into Bluey for the past month, and I have to say, this show is probably the best family show out right now. It's profound yet pedestrian and shows the joys of day-to-day domestic life. As a young adult it has helped me re-learn how to have a closer relationship with my sibling, and I appreciate that so so much.

@@EntertainTheElk Fun fact: a local newspaper here in Brisbane (where Bluey is both set, and made) worked out roughly what suburb they live in. From that they then extrapolated the value of their house. The house, which is in the style of a "Queenslander" - a very popular classic home style - combined with location which is in one of the more popular suburbs not quite in the inner city but still very close, with excellent views of both the CBD (downtown) and the river, was estimated to have a market value of around **5 million dollars.**

Thing that’s worth mentioning is that you only really see Bandit Or Chilli being these amazing parents and Bluey and Bingo being receptive for 7 minutes at most, we have to assume that it isn’t always like that, and I feel like Brumm and co might touch on that at some point.
So I f you, as a father yourself, can be as ‘good’ as Bandit for 7 minutes, you’re doing as well as him.

      @Dazt4r 2 роки тому +7

@@CJTheReal god I always see that and yeah, fancy reno’ed queenslander in Paddington WOULD be that much, but I think it can be extrapolated out that it was Bandit’s parents’ house (his childhood home) and if that is true it’s much more reasonable for them to have inherited it, or at most have purchased it when Inner city Brisbane real estate wasn’t astronomically overvalued.

It has a sense of realism (as much realism as you can get from talking dogs) and it teaches kids that you can be creative with the things you have around you, including your parents into your games, the fact that some episodes, the parents do not want to play the game, being annoyed by certain games, there is so much to this show. I know there's a ton to talk about with this show, but one thing you didn't get to mention was "Bin Night" which might be my favorite. It shows the family taking the garbage out, every week over the course of several weeks. There are just so many easter eggs and little plots they develop over this episode, from Bingo learning to deal with a bully, to Bluey getting her yellow belt, to them realizing that the phases of the moon correlate to the every-other-week recycling day, to the way the garbage they throw away correlates with the type of week they've had. I notice something new every time!

I gave the show a watch a little while ago from writing this because I needed something completely wholesome and not annoying while I was sick, that and I couldn't help but notice Bandit sounded like Berry Steakfries from that time Halfbrick deiced to produce six shorts and two music videos for Jetpack Joyride and wanted to check it out. Which apparently on that last one, not sure they had the same voice actor, but the show and those shorts were made by the same animators, cool.
I'm pretty sure this show is the only reason I'd be okay having kids in the future. I genuinely enjoy the show for a lot of reasons, and this video proved to me I still didn't give it enough credit.

Also, I had not seen that last episode yet, that's insanely beautiful, I kinda felt like a tear was going to come out. Media in general needs to stop talking down to the audience. Honestly I think that's holding a lot of kids back, instead of understanding they're not stupid.

Bluey really is fantastic! Out of all the shows my child watches, Bluey is the one that will get me to sit down with her and watch a few episodes. I am pretty sure we have seen some episodes dozens of times at this point, yet they really don't ever get old. Barky Boats always gets me. They all get me actually! lol

Been big bluey fans for a while and we don't even have kids, it's just such a shot of genuine joy to your day, hugely emotional and really funny to boot (any episode with Muffin in has me laughing).
What I really love about this show, besides the incredible writing is the absolute passion you feel in every aspect of its creation, it has beautiful music and gorgeous art, seriously every zoomed out vista shot of their house never fails to make me pause it and just look at it for a bit, the night sky with its simple diamond shapes for stars and the gorgeous sunlight filtering through the trees. Me and my partner lament the fact they don't do official art prints, they'd look great on the wall!
You can tell everyone on this show really loves their craft, it elevates the entire thing to be something really special, I hope others follow suit with childrens shows in the future.

In regards to the title, speak for yourself! I have a 3 year old and have seen seasons 1 and 2 at least 10 times each. Already gone through season 3 twice. It's pretty much my favorite show, but my son seems to be a fan of it as well 😂 I can tell what episode is on almost by the background music alone.
I even considered doing an episode by episode breakdown youtube series of the show because it is just that packed with stuff to talk about. There are countless small details the show gets right. I love it so much 🧡

I consider the show one of the best ever created. It was technicallly perfect and the feelings it makes are amazing cos you cant expect that it make u cry with something so pure and deep. Sleepytime is a great episode. ONe of the best ever made in a kids show because its about the inmortal love of a mother an the way of atureness of a child and the dedication of a father. It has all!!! AN the way of manage the last message destroys the hardest heart (chilis voice is so calm and lovely...). I love the show and it Taught how to be a present and better father and i hope some day to be so awsome father as Bandit is

I've only seen this show through syndication on cable tv at 6 in the morning in motel rooms. I will never get the theme song out of my head.
This show is lovely and if I ever have children I'm excited to have something to teach them the family values my family lacked growing up.

I just hope it don’t get ruined by Oversaturation and the quality of writing just drops drastically so they can pump out multiple episodes and sell merch

I’d love to watch this show, but there’s one problem: I only have an access to the series through Disney+, and I heard that the episodes in there are being censored. And I have no idea where to find the uncensored episodes…

I love how Bluey has the humor in the first 35 seasons of Sesame Street, Arthur, and the videos from Baby Einstein before Disney purchased it. It also tackles serious issues like Sesame Street and Mister Roger’s Neighborhood.

I watch Bluey with my niece, and all of my siblings agree that it’s the show that was needed during this time and just for the upcoming generation in general. Don’t get me wrong, shows like Blue’s Clues and Backyardigans were great as a kid, but they all walked so Bluey could run. For real life.

Hold the damn for phone for minute - Why the hell was I feeling a little prick of a tear towards the end their with the music, the seen of 'Old Mother' Character saying goodbye, watching their 'Child' Character leave before metaphorically heading to heaven!?
I've never seen the show, only seen thumbnails with it going under my radar almost entirely. I think am going to change that.

This show really knows how to make you sentimental. Mostly in the episode "Camping". You know that feeling you get, after watching a movie or show or listening to a song? Where for some reason, once it's over, you just sit there. You can't think of any words to say, you can't think about anything else in the entire world, you feel empty, maybe a little cold, sad, happy, satisfied but unsatisfied all at the same time? That's what I felt like after I watched that episode. It's also the same feeling I got after watching the last episode of Breaking Bad if you can believe it.
I'm a 16 year old boy by the way lol
