    Size comparison of vehicles, creatures and more from Denis Villeneuve's Dune.
    The size may not be 100% accurate as I was reliant on using references from the movie for an approximate scale.

    Most of these were smaller than I expected. I guess the cinematography just does a really good job at making them feel way bigger

      Because they shoot it from a human perspective. And for a human, all of those things are gigantic.

      Yeah, I also find odd the difference in size between atreides and harkonen frigates. Shouldn't they supposed to be within the same "weight" category? Harkonen seems to be much bigger - hence, carry much more firepower

      @@Afdogafaik, while its yet to be seen if the movies are different in this regard, the houses don’t really have spacefaring navies like other scifi stories. i think its rather uncommon for two ships to duke it out.

      @@Afdog nah, they are in the right size, unlike atreides, harkonnen population is almost triple the size, hence they build larger ships than any house in the book, they even have cruisers

    Surely large sandworms are bigger than that. One of them swallowed an entire spice harvester without problems in the first movie.

    Could you show the difference between the two ornithopters? There was the regular size when they went to the spice field. But the one Jessica and Paul used to escape was much smaller and just a two seater.

    Nice video! But i wonder if there isnt a bigger worm. If the Atreides Harvester gets swallowed in Part I, if must have been the largest worm according to this video. Does that mean, the grandfather worm of Part II is the exact same specimen since it "is the biggest ever seen"?

    • @BLooDCoMPleX
      @BLooDCoMPleX 17 днів тому +40

      The movie somewhat standardized the size of the worms, portraying all of them as huge, since the largest ones are always the most impressive looking on the screen. In the book the worm Paul called in his first ride was one of the largest ever seen, far bigger than an average worm that swallows harvesters.

    Watching this makes me realize how the Gaalsien and Coalition from Homeworld would be right at home in the deserts of Arrakis.
