  • In my search for more cinematic and special drums/percussions for my music style I found this amazing VST called Stylus RMX from Spectrasonics (also the creator of Omnisphere).
Checked some reviews and tutorials and made the desicion to make the purchase.
Like it a lot!! This is my first song with this truely amazing VST. Just scratched the surface of it but it seems to be the perfect match for me and my synths.
    Use synths:
Spectrasonics Stylus RMX (VST) - all drums and percussion
    Yamaha Montage - piano (live)
    Behringer Deepmind12 - ARP
    Roland V-Synth - pads
    Korg Oasys -pad (live)
Prism (VST) - drone (live via Korg oasys)
    Kawai K5000s -airy pad (live)
Yamaha Motif XS - leads (live) and SFX (sequence)
Rob Papen BlueII (VST) - ARP
Roland System 8 - pad (live)
    External FX:
    Nemesis Delay pedal
    BlueSky Reverberator pedal
    Polara Digitech Reverb pedal
Audio recorded with my Tascam DP-03SD audiorecorder.
    Backgroundvid: screencap Aeon Platinum.
Use headphones for best audio performance.
Video made with Corel VideoStudio Ultimate.

Excellent job....Certainly has the right beats for your style. I'm sure you'll use many more in your up coming sessions. My advice on selling some stuff off, keep it. I have had a lot of good synths and other instruments and now I wish I had them all back. Why? Like you they have that real feeling and always seem to do the things I want them to do, but can't anymore as they're gone. Once you part with something there will come a time you'll say to your self, I wish I still had..........I've made a vow that I'll never part with anything again 'cause I know I'll want it back once it's gone. Yes, it's nice to make some quick cash and spend it on something else but I'm now looking at it this way, it's paid for, I own it and now I'll keep it till I pass away. Yes, I'll add to it, but those will eventually be paid and I'll have the system I want. On the other side of the coin, if you want to donate anything to me, I'll give it a good home...lol.... Later, MF....

Thanx John!! As for selling...I did sell a lot in the past, but I also bought a lot in the past....Thinking of selling the System-8 and Novation Supernova; for sure the Electribe-2, the MPC touch and Trigger Finger Pro because I don't use them anymore...On my whish list is the Waldorf Quantum!!

With all those soundsources you could do a lot more... You're wasting a forest to extract a toothpick

You're right, but it's not always easy to be creative....This song was mainly to make a first impression of Stylus and was made in a few hours after my purchase. I wouldn't call it wasting a forest since I'm not aiming to extract a toothpick, just walking in a forest with a lot of beautiful trees and enjoying them...Thanx for the visit and comment!

@@mamojula I could also move the same criticism to myself. We're overwhelmed by electronic instruments that, often, overlap themselves. I'm trying to reduce the number of sound sources, because I've realized that the more you have the less you compose.

@@digitalperformer7 Couldn't agree more! Need to sell stuff for sure, at least that's what I'm telling myself but just don't do...why? don't know exactly but each synth (second hand) I bought was a well choosen one and took quit some time to find so I guess I need to get rid of my emotional side and let take over the business one as for selling stuff....I even thought of just keeping one or two and a midi controller and use more and more VST's....but they don't have that feeling.... aaargggghhhh here we go again....

@@mamojula Don't do it. You're using them to good effect and from experience, you will regret selling them.
